Legend thank you. FYI for everyone else. Some DC DN lenses don't have an option to update for Sony. I have a 56mm 1.4 DC DN and the update is only available for Sigma Fp, Leica, Panasonic L mount and Canon. Waiting on Sigma to get back to me about this.

My Sigma lens upgrade download was a plf file that was put on the SD card - then the instructions were to do a firmware upgrade on the camera lens - which doesnt exist on a AR7 ii.
quick question. I just bought the Sigma 100-400 lens for my Sony A7III. I went to the Sigma website to grab the files I need, and I see this. Did you see the following on their page before? Not sure what the deal is. Do you? Please check the version from camera menu. If the lens version is firmware Ver.01 it cannot be updated by the end-user via the camera. Therefore, SIGMA will update the lens firmware free of charge.

@@antoniodomingo5404 You won't find one because they have not released an update for Sony E-mount for that model. Maybe it doesn't need one for Sony, but the other two did? You can email Sigma customer support and ask them, but at least you know why you can't find it.
Hey mate, do you have an idea if the process is similar for Canon EF's mount? I'm about to buy the Sigma Art 24-35 f2 for my Eos R6 and just googling this ahead of time seems a bit nightmarish.
Wish I could give you an answer or even an educated guess, but I have only dealt with Sony cameras. I haven't the slightest clue on how any other manufacturer works, sorry.
@@gridsquare The tutorial on Sigma's website doesn't even show a Sony menu - looks like it must be either Nikon or Canon. And it tells you to download the firmware to your computer, load it onto an SD card, insert the SD card into the camera, then go through the menus to update the firmware. But like I said, the menus don't match. Check it out before you make your next video.
@@jamesmeyer1325 if you don't see a sony menu, there isn't an update for it. Look through the different lenses and you'll see many don't have e or l mount. Some are only Canon or Nikon and a few are only sigma.
Has anyone tried to update their firmware recently? The sigma-global website is not responding each time I click the button to download a firmware update. Any clues?
This is PURE speculation, but I think that with the new Sony A1 release, they are likely to revamp all their lens firmware to be compatible. The A1 has 30 fps autofocus with native Sony lenses but only 15 with 3rd party ones like Sigma. So my bet is Sigma is trying to do everything in their power to get their lenses to get as close to that 30fps autofocus. If they don't get close to that number, there's a lot of people, including myself, that will only buy Sony lenses that are 100% compatible in every way.
A visual tutorial would’ve been super helpful. Site says before updating I need to make sure I have the latest version of Sigma optimization Pro but then no other download links.

For some reason, my A73 with the 24-70 Art doesn’t go past the Updating The Lens phase, and when I tried turning off then removing battery, it was on the same firmware as before (after checking the version). I wonder what the issue is? Thank you in advance!
When I connect a6600 to PC I can see it's charging so I know it's connected, bit firmware update software just won't move from the first step. Camera is on mass storage, card is out..sigma 16mm mounted, e-mount firmware downloaded.PC doesn't react to camera at all. Any guidance??

Then there is no update for your lens. Not a big surprise, most of their lenses don't have updates or they ship with the latest firmware. Even with Sony, I just got a 24-70GMaster the other day, their firmware hasn't updated since 2017. No need to be alarmed.
a shame, that Sigma didn't support their products, like all others do! in my case, i got just a "S0160110.plf"- file (MAC), which is not supported by OSX. The installation- guide on their site didn't work with my Alpha 7Riii, 'cause there is no update- option in the menue. sucks really!

I'm assuming if there is no link, there is no upgrade for it. I just checked and they only have L mount and Canon EF links for 16mm.

Make sure it's the right version for Windows and your specific lens.
