Ugh the recipe is fantastic! But the stearic acid I had never worked with. I ended up with a little still hardened in my final product. Should I maybe melt the stearic acid in the water first and then add the soap paste?
Made it my but sugar melted in it 😣I also dropped the temperature cool placed it in the fridge .. It didn't foam lather it felt like lotion ...I guess it's ok the lotion feel...but gonna find another exfoliant..maybe rice powder will work?
Yassss🙌🏼 I made the paste directly after watching your video the other day: SHOCKED at how easy it was to make, and it was my first cream soap! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this video. Let me say, I’ve watched dozens of cream soap videos, and yours was the BEST, and LEAST COMPLICATED out there! I can’t thank you enough, Mrs. Soap&Clay 🤝
I find your no nonsense attitude and willingness to share such a refreshing and fabulous thing. I’m a fan and have been since almost day 1 of Soap and Clay and ps big fan of mr soap and clay too.
Omg! I finally got the soap paste made and then tried your recipe for these beautiful whipped sugar soap scrubs and it turned out just gorgeous! I had made some last year with that Stephan’s base and I have to say these don’t have the bubble that the Stephan’s does but I like yours better, and here’s why. The Stephan’s was way too thick and I’d loose half or more of it while I was trying to use it in the shower. Your recipe here spreads on beautifully and I don’t loose a drop! Your recipe also is more moisturizing and doesn’t dry my skin out like the Stephan’s does. I’m just tickled and love it so so much! Thank you for sharing this awesome product recipe and doing all the teaching in the playlist so my first attempt tuned out amazing! ❤️
I’ve tried whipping it while hot and haven’t had any problem. I also melted down the paste and mixed with water in a pot on the stove on 3 and 4. Still a great end result!
I have made soap paste previously but never thought to use it to make whipped sugar soap scrubs. LOVE IT! And love your videos! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My family and friends are always asking for foaming sugar scrubs. It whips up so easily even using a hand mixer. I halved your recipe and still filled four 8-oz jars!
Made your soap paste- AWESOME! Turned it into Whipped Sugar Scrub - MORE AWESOME. I loved the whole make it from scratch thing. I replaced the water portion with a pale ale and it worked perfectly! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. Us "Sudsers" are truly blessed to have you.
I finally had the time to take the plunge on trying your recipe. I saved this from months and months ago. Wow super fluffy and it feels great on my skin. Washes away completely without feeling greasy or a residue. I was expecting more of bubble's like a bar of soap. Over all I give it a 9 out of 10. Only because no bubble's. Everyone in my house loved it. I piped it in my jars and got 7-8 oz jars. So Kool 😍 I can't thank you enough for taking the time to teach all of us your amazing skills. 💕❤️♥️💓💖
How do I get the recipe for this I am lost with this whipped soap I have melt-and-pour soap base and I bought it not knowing what to do with it. I joined and followed you because you are down to earth. Explain everything to the point. Plus we have the same mouth lol. Every person I was watching to make body butters and whipped soap scrubs has not made no sense and some women are picking on giving you any info or recipes. I've tried this recipe so many times. Great recipe. My only caveats for others would be: 1. I've found most of my customers prefer more sugar/exfoliant in the final scrub from this base, so test out with a few variations as this recipe is flexible. 2. Obviously you need to know the preservative and fragrances you're using to have the best idea of how much to use exactly.
I've done this recipe twice. The first time I used a preservative that seemed like it deflated it a little too much. I changed the preservative and it worked super well. About 3-4 months later and the scrubs are still nice and fluffy in the jar. Great recipe!
I love this! I hope to try this very soon!! Im not much of a baker fan but when it comes to soap and butters and everything between i love it! Thank you for this recipe❤
Just for fun I tried to whip it around 95 degrees. It puffed up some but I came back around 70 degrees and tripled in volume. Following your exact technique was key. Thank you!
You are so sweet to share that with us, thank you. Watching you rub it into your hands at the end makes me want to go make some right now! Gotta make that soap paste first!
I've made the paste THREE TIMES and it doesn't lather. I'm not sure what am I doing wrong. I'm going to try again, wish me luck. Thank you for EVERYTHING YOU SHARE AND DO!
Do you have a playlist of the products you can make with the dual lye soap paste? Aside from this whipped sugar scrub, what else can you make with soap paste (other than LS, of course lol!) Thanks so much for being a fab teacher & inspiration!! Love your videos!
Made this yesterday. Wasn’t paying attention and accidentally added the glycerin to the crock pot! Don’t do that. lol my whipped shop came out beautifully at first, but once it cooled it felt an looked more like sticky runny marshmallow fluff. Making it again right now. I will keep you updated
Okay - I FINALLY made the paste yesterday and today the scrub. I think I overwhipped because it is more like pudding than having any firm consistency. Oops - my bad. And I used a hand mixer, don't have a Kitchenaid to do the whippy whip with yet. 😁 Def have enough paste for another go around though! I'm going to call it "Body Polish". Thanks for all your insight and knowledge!!!!
Here in Tasmania we are so ready to say goodbye to Winter and go into Spring but I can't believe how quickly the year has gone. I can't wait to make this recipe.
Hello I am new to your community and I am so happy God lead me to your page. I am new at the soaping world! I am so excited how creative you are and I learned from your work. You make this so much more simple than some I have watched. Keep giving us the 💎
I hope you make bubble bath with the soap paste next! I love bubble bath. A very childish thing I know, but I've never gotten over a great bubble bath. I can just soak in a warm bath with a shit ton of bubbles and spend an hour in it! Lol, yes come out like a prune, I did as a kid too. That's what makes it fun! So you really can at times be a kid again, and forget all those mean adult rules we are all supposed to obey! Forget about it and really soak up your inner child for an hour. You'll be a totally different person. Relaxed, fun and happy. Is there anything better for you mentally or physically? Probably Not! Jill Gross
Thank you, a thousand times thank you!! I have a bunch of soap paste sitting in a big jar waiting to be repurposed. I tried my hand at liquid soap and it just doesn't sell. I even prefer the solid soap, and this soap paste has a few expensive oils/butters that made using it as laundry detergent a no go. I FINALLY have a perfect and worthwhile use for it, I'm so stoked! My sugar scrubs with a coco betaine recipe were very lack luster, so this makes it even more exciting! I can make some to match my Christmas soaps without killing my budget. I've been so excited since you mentioned it last week and have been legitimately obsessing over this video and I'm not disappointed!!! And yes, summer disappeared, just nothing has been the same since 2020
I’m so glad you found a use for the paste!!! I love when that happens. That said, I just threw away 10 pounds of shredded soap I’ve been collecting in a frenzied purge today knowing I wouldn’t have time to figure out what to do with it all. Then ten minutes later, five obvious uses for shreds popped in my head. It’s nuts.
@@MrsSoapAndClay me too, I've been debating what to do with it for months, I'm too frugal to toss stuff unless it's gone bad so it's just been sitting on the shelf. My soap shreds are also just sitting there 😂 I've tried convincing myself to crochet soap pocket scrubbers I can just fill with shreds, but I've conditioned myself to fall asleep as soon as I pick it up so it's been a fail 😅 they're all so incredibly different too that I'm unsure about a rebatch, we'll see... For now I'm just going to test this recipe with my existing paste and plan my Christmas ones to go along with my soap designs
@@stickfiguretree5411 I’ve seen people selling shredded soap on Etsy. I’m not sure what they’re doing with it, but there’s got to be some use. Had I kept mine separated into different containers I would use it as “confetti” in soap or sprinkled on top, also like confetti. But mine is all the different colors on the spectrum and maybe wouldn’t look that great. I tried melting it to make liquid soap, that didn’t work. It kept turning into a thick gel no matter how much water I added. It was like a thick ooze. Reminded me of something from Nickelodeon. Haha. But the whole family had fun putting their hands in it and playing with it. lol.
You are a fountain of knowledge! You make soap making so lively! May I know how to calculate the amount of stearic acid needed? I've been searching high and low for it, but failed. Can you please teach me? Thank you in advance, ma'am 🙏🙏🙏
I’m definitely going to try this. I’m a little worried about the duel lye part but I’m sure I can get it figured out. I’ve been trying to formulate a replacement for the steph bath butter base. I havnt had much luck. I bought the sci, SLSA, all the stuff to make it. But it doesn’t ever have the thick heavyish texture that the pre bought base does. It’s always fluffy like light airy foam, not a thick dense shave cream.. So ima try this out. I really want to add a sugar scrub to my line. And shave butters. I’m hoping this fixes my issues. I can’t afford the pre bought base any longer. ❤😊
I didn’t get my first batch of paste hot enough and couldn’t reach emulsion. So I cooked it a little longer than recommended and kept stick blending it. Let it set overnight to cool. It looks very much like your soap paste, except that it was gooey on the inside. I made my second batch today and made sure that my crockpot was on high and I could definitely see the difference this next batch makes. But I’m wondering now, what to do With the first batch. I pulled it apart into smaller pieces so that it could dry out better. But since I’ve never made it before I’m not sure if I should keep it or toss it. Thank you so much. 😊
Love it, I’ll give it a go, but first I need to see how the paste is done, and hopefully I have access to all ingredients here . I finally try this, paste is made but not sure why my paste is such a lighter color than this one from the paste recipe. In my excitement I added the glycerin to the paste, water, and steric acid. My heart drops when I realized my mistake. Oh well, I will continue on and see what happens. I'll come back with an update. 🙂
update: even though I added the glycerin to my paste and water it came out beautifully. I LOVE this scrub. Thank you for sharing this with your biggest fans!
Hi, from Australia! I've been watching your videos for a while and I love what you do. I'm a newbie to soapmaking, just over a year now. I'm very appreciative that you share so much of your knowledge, thank you 🙏💙. I would love to try this whipped sugar scrub and I was wondering if you could let me know how you calculate the glycerine and sugar weights please💜🌼
I know it's not what the content is about but can I just say, you're one of my favourite youtubers because you swear like a trooper. 🤣 I'm from Australia and honestly it's werid not hearing people swear as part of normal speech 😅
I appreciate your support! Had someone earlier that commented on 10+ videos across two years in a 20 minute timespan letting me know that they’re unsubscribing because I swear. And I’m like, then go - you don’t need to blow up my feed, shit. 😂
I made this, so beautiful..... thanks for sharing. I noticed the whipped soap has good foam, but when you add the sugar it doesn't foam.... do you know why?
I made this yesterday and it turned out awesome! Would coffee work?Would you use the same measurement of coffee grounds as the sugar in the recipe? A combination of both? Sorry if that's a silly question.
Made soap paste, came out BEAUTIFUL.....super sudsy. Went on to make this whipped sugar soap scrub and I have zero lather / bubble. Feels wonderful, skin is smooth, soft but I'm wondering possibilities of why it's not soaping? Possibly colorant? Tried two batches.........one with a glycerin colorant from Cierra and one with micas.......niether have lather. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!!
@@MrsSoapAndClay Let it sit for 2 weeks, naturally is a little more soapy. Will try next batch w/ sugar reduction.. LOVE IT tho! TY P.S how to join the next level beyond "subscriber"?
Love your videos and recipes. 2 questions: I made soap paste from your recipe and it’s not that brownish colour. It more white, did I not cook long enough. Second, I made your recipe with out the paste, my steric acid always becomes chunky after. Little bits of stearic acid. Which is not nice with a shave soap, any idea why. It melts fine, looks incorporated but after the product has chunks. And bonus question because I love your knowledge, if I’m making a shave soap whipped from paste do I just not put in the sugar. ?
So, I made the the Paste. It didn't go as hard(?) As yours. It stayed at the vasilne looking stage but it was very pasty... I tried using it anyway and I put the 7 oz paste, 7 oz water, 2.8 oz of steric in crock pot on high. It didn't fully melt down like yours.... It got thick right away and the steric didn't dissolve all the way. I kept it in the or for over a hour and still didn't fully melt.... Any advice?
I made your soap paste and I LOVE IT. But I made this recipe for foaming soap scrub and it was very runny. I measured everything lapel, and I used to be a pastry chef, I know the consequences of over and under whipping - but I had to double the sugar to get it to thicken up. I now have it in the drive. It also is thick and cranny but no bubbles. Any ideas?
You are AWSOME! I did a whipped foam yesterday… and had to use like 7 different expensive ingredients, and at the end I didn’t like the consistency at all. I’ll try this one, “I’ll do the things” You are my inspiration
I've been making this since October of last year and I love it! But this morning I got distracted and forgot the crockpot was on and cooked the water, paste and stearic acid for over 2 hours. Instead of my luscious pearlescent whip, I got my Big Mama's cooked pudding. How do I fix it?
Thank you!! I let it cool all the way and started adding the glycerin. It loosened up after the first 3 ounces so I kept whipping and added the remaining 3. It smoothed out and I added a few grams of my body oil base (in for a penny, in for a pound) and YAHTZEE!! It looks like my gorgeous soufflé in a jar again. Just wanted to share in case anyone else cooks their soap paste nearly to death while trying to make whipped soap.
I need to bookmark this one. I haven't made the soap paste yet. Mostly because I don't have a crock for hot process (and I'm a bit intimidated by HP in general...). Can you make soap paste via cold process methods or is the cook pretty integral?
I feel like I’ve done a video on cold process soap paste. I can’t remember where or when though. Yes, you can do this via cold process, but make sure to force gel and keep it covered until you’re ready to use it (like you would do with the hot process method).
Seriously, try the recipe. Let me know how it goes!
Made the soap paste and the whipped sugar soap scrubs I’m in love with them so easy ❤️ what else can make with the paste ?
If I use a preservative does this product have an expiration date?

I would love to try this whipped sugar scrub and I was wondering if you could let me know how you calculate the glycerine and sugar weights please💜🌼
This looks so luxurious and luscious!!!
I just tried your sugar scrub recipe and it came out awesome! So much cheaper than buying the base 😊
@@MrsSoapAndClay I have no time for people who get offended by words that aren't derogatory. 🤣
Just subscribed because I adore your style 🥂🥂🥂
Summer never ends here in Florida
OMG I LOVE THIS CHANNEL
I'm going to make this soon. Waiting on some ingredients! What other things can be made with the soap paste?
I made it! It came out great! Thank you so much!
Just found your channel. Subscribed. I love your attitude! Can't wait to binge on all these videos!
I made this, so beautiful..... thanks for sharing. I noticed the whipped soap has good foam, but when you add the sugar it doesn't foam.... do you know why?
Ooo I love this. My list of your recipes to try is growing faster then I can try them.
Mine too! 😂
This is awesome. Thank you soooo much . Definitely gonna save a lot this way instead of buying ready-made whipped soap paste ❤️❤️❤️🌿🌿🌿🌹🌹🌹
Made the soap paste, just waiting for some of the additives! Love your channel ❤❤ Thanks so much
Thank you so much. Have a great weekend.
Thanks!!
Hey! this is meant to be more of a creamy, scrub consistency. Cleansing but not super bubbly. If you'd like more bubbles, you can reduce the sugar!
@@MrsSoapAndClay Let it sit for 2 weeks, naturally is a little more soapy. Will try next batch w/ sugar reduction.. LOVE IT tho! TY P.S how to join the next level beyond "subscriber"?
BDay for me tomorrow! Inching closer to the half century Woot woot!
Happy day of your birth!!! ❤️
I still love this. Rewatched to show the hubby what I was gonna do with some paste. Lol. I am obsessed with the Captain American crock pot !!
I broke the crock for this one. I’m sad.
@@MrsSoapAndClay oh no!! I would be on the hunt for another one.
Wow thanks for sharing!! I can’t wait to try this.
You are amazingly generous, thank u!
" IT'S Super all the THINGS! 🤣❤️
GURL.....I love your attitude! I love people that are REAL!!!! Just subscribed to you channel, had me at "expensive as shit"
Thank you so so much for sharing your recipes and knowledge ❤️ If you wanted to color this. I assume poly 80 is needed as well?
So, I made the the
Paste.
Any ideas?
Hey! I made a sugar scrub playlist a few months back discussing recipe tweaks - check it out!
@@MrsSoapAndClay I found it after I posted. Thank you.
You are AWSOME! I did a whipped foam yesterday… and had to use like 7 different expensive ingredients, and at the end I didn’t like the consistency at all.
I’ll try this one, “I’ll do the things”
You are my inspiration
thanks so much for this. I am in Australia and we pay even more for the Stephens so this is my next project to try.
Hi, I made this after watching your video I'm in love with how easy it is 🙂 I was wondering if it works out well half batching it for different FO ?
LOVE your T-shirt...Love his Stardust book and movie!!!
Me too!!$
@@MrsSoapAndClay I love to listen to the audio tape as well. Neil reads the story himself...awesome!
Oh I’m saving this!!!! Thanks so much!!!! I have all the stuff!!!!
I've been making this since October of last year and I love it! But this morning I got distracted and forgot the crockpot was on and cooked the water, paste and stearic acid for over 2 hours. Instead of my luscious pearlescent whip, I got my Big Mama's cooked pudding. How do I fix it?
Hey! might not be fixable for the whipped sugar soap scrubs, but you can add glycerin in equal parts and turn it into melt and pour soap!
I love your videos, and the recipe is really cool and much cheaper
Hey... I love that you do these videos. Thank you. Question, what did you pour into the mixing bowl from the Brambleberry bottle? Please and thank you
This was awesome but after a week it deflated. Where did I go wrong? I am going to try and rewhip tonight for funsies. I
Thank you , you have helped me so much I was looking for easy sugar scrub recipe. Do you think this could stand heat at a market ❤️
Have you tried it yet? Was thinking same
@@Spongebob007 not yet where I live it's gets up to 100° plus 🤦🏾♀️in the summer months I think am gonna wait until fall ❤️
@@lakeshia_SoapCo.1 same! I’ve been visiting local farmers markets here & I’ve seen surprisingly few soap/body butter vendors. Wonder if that’s why
@@MrsSoapAndClay neat. I'll search around for it!
Awesome❣️definitely going to try❣️
Hi there ! Lovely video , thank you for that , I am wondering what type of preservatives are okay for this project ? Thanks in advanced :)
Easy peasy lemon squeezey 😏 I love it 😁
Well I am only going to try this be cause you look so gorgeous/skin😍 Your glowing in this video missy...lol Thank you❤
