An example We pay 30 wages Price of exporting weapons is 120 dn/unit We have to import iron for 65 dn/unit We can import 40 quota of iron and sell 40 quota of weapons easily. (we will add up numbers of 9.6 to be 10 for sake of simplicity) In this instance we would run 4 workshops at 10 workers + 5 logistical workers each. Estimated wages are 4x1.5x30=180 denarii for wages Imports of iron would cost 40x65=2600 denarii for import costs Income from selling weapons would be 40x120=4800 denarii from selling weapons Total profit would then be 4800-180-2600=2020 denarii Larger the city the more levy or logistical costs can accumulate but also usually there is some tax offsetting these costs, if map does not have any taxation whatsover or its heavily limited, you will have to make sure that these numbers keep making sense as the city grows. When accounting for imported goods, each workshop can have several units of raw goods stored in it, creating an investment situation where the workshops soak up upfront investment in terms of raw materials before they can process them and the products be sold. With local production this is much cheaper and as such not nearly as prone to causing bankrupcy or mismanagement by the player. Make sure to keep the rates reasonably, if its running too tight then the early game especially will feel very starved. Scarcity can breed innovation and preciousness for the money or resources but too much can cause frustration for the player.
Thanks, it's very interesting. In the video you can see the Godlike version of Cyrene. I beat Mortal but I can't beat Godlike. Can I ask you for a video where you show the map? Thanks a lot
This is the first part ua-cam.com/video/k_ob9hN4ytc/v-deo.html Unfortunately second part was only on twitch and i dont have the recording. This is also a different version that the current one on heaven but the basic strategy should be relatively the same. Sam came up with another way which is stay on shacks and only unlock water much later, but you have to manage health well.
An example
We pay 30 wages
Price of exporting weapons is 120 dn/unit
We have to import iron for 65 dn/unit
We can import 40 quota of iron and sell 40 quota of weapons easily. (we will add up numbers of 9.6 to be 10 for sake of simplicity)

Imports of iron would cost 40x65=2600 denarii for import costs
Income from selling weapons would be 40x120=4800 denarii from selling weapons
Total profit would then be 4800-180-2600=2020 denarii
Larger the city the more levy or logistical costs can accumulate but also usually there is some tax offsetting these costs, if map does not have any taxation whatsover or its heavily limited, you will have to make sure that these numbers keep making sense as the city grows.
