If there’s one thing to say about this game, its climax is the greatest example of perfectionism, PTSD, and the 5 stages of grief and loss. This game cured a lot of my mental health after my father passed away 2 years ago.
I just got a PS5 recently, and Solar Ash was one of the first games I got for it. I managed to get all the trophies with a total playtime of about 20 hours. I gotta say, it's up there as one of my new favorites, and it was definitely made to be played on console. I don't think I ever encountered any frame drops or stuttering, not a single time in my several playthroughs. In regards to the things you disliked about the game, I would like to point out a few things. Spoiler warning btw. First of all, the combat. During my first playthrough, I felt the same way you did. It was awkward, and some of the enemies were difficult to approach without taking damage. However, during my hardcore mode attempt, I started to change my mind. Once you get the suit that gives you double damage, or the absolution suit that gives you every suit effect, the combat feels much better. Being able to kill the small enemies in one hit makes it much more manageable, and even the toughest enemies can be killed with a single grapple/triple hit combo. Once a majority of the enemies only take a single hit to kill, the combat becomes waaay more enjoyable, and you can start mowing them down without ever having to slow down. As for the lack of difficulty, have you played the unlockable hardcore mode yet? Because that probably has what you're looking for. The anomalies and bosses give you basically the bare minimum time required to complete them, with some even forcing you to find shortcuts or learn new strategies. Heck, I didn't know you could get a big speed boost by jumping off a climbable wall mid-dash until I was forced to learn it in order to progress. This is a game that becomes more fun on subsequent playthroughs IMO. Once you really learn how all the mechanics work and start memorizing the anomaly/boss patterns, it becomes a very fun speedrunning game. I highly recommend it for anyone feeling unsure about buying it.
1. Combat, I totally agree with the suit thing. I got all the suits as I was playing, and the double damage one really changed up the flow of combat, made it way better. You just got it to late, didn’t feel worth mentioning. 2. I have not yet, but I really wanna go revisit the game and play it on hardcore
@@CNRMRY_YT That's the thing about the absolution suit, you unlock it by beating the game with 100% completion and it gives you every suit effect at once. The best part? You can wear it in any save file immediately after the first boss.
The game looks beautiful, too much speed for your own good sounds like the same issue many sonic games face. Gonna have to give the game a try in the future!

never
So it's basically sonic the hedgehog in shadow of the colossus thrown in a blender with sci-fi, and anti-nihilist themes
and it works great
