I wish you could have shown more of the Hornet. Looked like it might look pretty cool with a bath. It looked like it might have had a roll cage in it and possibly a narrowed rear? hope you can show more of it if you get the cars. Cool video. Thanks for posting.
@valricogarcia in retrospect I probably should have spent a little more time on the Hornet, It did have a cage in but I don't believe the rear was narrowed. Later I found out it was a bracket car up north. I cant recall the state. Supposedly it ran a 360 and was relatively quick. I was anxious to get to the 2 The Machines. Thanks for watching!!
It the mid 70s I bought two AMC Rebels ( exact body style as the Rebel machine seen here ) from Orkin PestControl . $500 for each. They were both 6 cylinder automatic, power steering, AM radio. The trunk was totally stripped of paint etc , and they smelled of PestControl chemicals. No dents or rust. No pest would get within 14 feet of the cars. Just high miles. I drove one and my brothers drove the other. We drove them until there were worn out.Basically good cars. I wish I knew about the Rebel machine back then and I would have painted them to resemble a Rebel Machine, six cylinder and all .
@ricardofierro7041 That's really cool, those cars would be pretty valuable today due to parts scarcity for The Machine's. I would love to find a couple of 1970, 2 doors just to keep for parts cars. Thanks for watching and sharing!!!
@Timman57 I agree, The Machine's are really cool and desirable cars and being a 1 year only car with many unique parts only for that car it's hard and expensive to find parts or restore them. I would say many pieces are more than mopar prices unless it's a factory race car priced piece. I have another RWB The Machine in the works and it's nowhere near this condition thanks for watching!!
@jessicagreene1773 They definitely are never a good thing, but I know when I'm out hunting cars they always make me want to stop and see what's under them
@steve-zx5jb The RWB one was supposedly originally a Florida car but the owner (owned it since the mid 70's) spent some time as a kid driving it around and probably doing doughnuts on Daytona beach trying to act cool. The salt water absolutely killed it. The one taken apart was a northern car and the lighter green one I'm not sure the whole story on it. Typically, our cars down here aren't anywhere near that condition unless there were other factors included in their demise. Thanks for watching!!
@steve-zx5jb definitely not a good combination, it always amazes me the amount of people (especially Jeep owners) that like to go out and drive around on the beach and in the surf. You would think they would know better.
@pedrofernandez8729 Cash for Clunkers and a couple scrap steel price spike took a lot of cars and parts out of circulation for sure. If these weren't so rare and they would have been long gone I'm pretty sure. Thanks for watching!!
I don't think the cash for clunkers program went back that far for cars...I think it was like late 1980's and newer, not sure exactly, but there was a year limit on it...what the program did do, was decimate the supply of good used vehicles, especially cheap ones for people who had a very limited budget, and created an artificial shortage and drove the prices of used vehicles, even less than great high mileage ones, WAYY up...we are still feeling the effects of that travesty today....

Those machines are highly loved in the AMC community, even small pieces of them go for mopar-like prices 😅

Tarps are the death of a car.

So is the Florida humidity it would seem.

So many nice used cars got destroyed during that horrible cash for clunkers program and these skeletons survived?

Obama's BS program
@danscott3880 That's no lie!!!
Anyone stupid enough to cash in any muscle car didn't deserve it in the first place!
