Thanks for the great review. I thought about them during the last sale but not enough to pull the trigger. Lots on interest in it though and always great to have another solid, affordable set.
Nice review Vortex mate. It actually looks a very similar unboxing experience and what you get included in the box with the Starfield. Only differences are the artwork on the box and different cable really from what I can tell from memory. From what little sound comparisons I've managed to hear online the Aria definitely sounds like the little brother/sister to the Starfield. Only discernable differences I could tell from the online samples were slightly recessed vocals but more bass emphasis in comparison to the Starfield. The Aria still sounded enjoyable and I can see why you like them, I did too. I've had my Starfields for 16 months (still gorgeous looking) and still no chipping issues thankfully, although I've heard the horror stories. Even though the included silicone tips were ok I ended up using triple flanged tips to get a better seal for me. Worked like a charm. Only really opted for those tips due to my prior interest in the etymotic er4xr which uses triple flange tips and didn't know if I could tolerate the fit, I can.
I've had this one for more than 1 month and I'd say that I really love this, because it just does everything right.. Except the cable which I had to cut its fabric sleeve on one of the cables above y splitter, because it was already torn in one part. And the rest of the parts there were kinked and there's no way for them to be straight again. For the tips I've tried different eartips like JVC Spiral Dot, Ortofon, Final Audio Type E, and Azla SednaEarfit Crystal, and Tanchjim T300B.. And I found it matches very well with the T300B. Best isolation, more warmth, refined overall resolution and it does help to tame the higher frequencies just a little bit. Overall a really nice all-rounder IEM.
Thanks very much for the feedback and your impressions. I agree about the cable and next time they should use a better one. Where did you get those T300B tips?
Reversing the KZ Starlines eartips have been subjectively the ideal combo for me (but understandably doesn't work for everyone given reversing eartips exposes stickier material and some might feel skin irritation or see dust build up more easily affect their wear, aside from how they do that bouncing back effect when put inside your ears). Opens up the treble nicely to become crisp and even sparkly on some tracks, with clean mids, and the bass only taking a minor hit (which is personally welcome, this is still V-shaped and).
Great review man. I thought about removing the nozzle mesh on my set because i thought they sounded a bit dark but wasn't aware there was a membrane underneath. I'll give it a try now 👍
Thanks very much and I need to have a good listen to the TC01 as I haven't listened to it in a while but maybe the Aria has better technicalities but can't be sure at the moment. I might do a video about it.
The cable is actually quite nice. Very soft. Not microphonic and the kinks came out straight away. I was originally planning on using one of my upgrade cables but I have decided to keep it.
