I am a beginner to IEM's, only used bluetooth Sony WI-C310. My cousin gifted me ATH-M50x a few years ago and recently I started researching around audiophile stuff. Because of your video I ordered a pair of Aria's. :)
I loved the Aria overall but there was, I want to say a slightly dry characteristic to the sound and pretty strong grainy-ness in the upper mid/low treb area that wasn't jibing too well with me. Although for the price that is being quite picky probably, and some may even prefer that kind of sound. Moondrop's waifu game is always top notch as well so can't complain too much. They didn't fit well in my collection to justify keeping them, but they sure are excellent as gift for friends. That look, build and packaging is just unbelievably good for the price.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts man. yeah for the price Aria is very good, but like I mentioned in the video it's average all around with some good qualities in some areas. It's definitely king under $100 for me but not any higher on the price bracket.
Just got these on sale for a little less than $50. I was surprised how far budget iem has improved over the year. 5 years ago, this level of SQ would have easily cost over $500.
Picked some up yesterday and on first listen out of the box was very disappointed, there was next to no bass. It just sounded flat and tinny like a cheap pair of apple earbuds. I tried with my other Fiio dac/amp, the same. I eq'd up the low end and bought out some of the richest bass and most overall immersive sound I've ever heard. I am admittedly new to Moondrop & higher end IEM's in general but it should sound like that out of the box surely. Basically, they sound amazing but only after applying a heap of low end tone. Just wondering if this is a normal thing with "audophile" gear or mine are faulty. Cheers
Hi Timmy i have Moondrop Aria & Tin Hifi T2 Plus and using both to listen to songs on my LG V50.the thing is both are really good but i can say T2 Plus has a wider sound
IDK what happened, but here's my story about these: When I first received them 4 days ago, I was supremely disappointed. They sounded tinny, hollow and lacking any amount of bass. They also had a nasty sibilance that pierced my ears. I couldn't use them AT ALL. I read the manual and saw that they need "100 hours burn in". So, I burnt them in for about 2 days. Picked them up yesterday, waiting to be disappointed.... WOW. They completely changed. I'm not sure what happened, but I didn't even believe in burn-in. Maybe it's sheer luck, or I'm insane, but they sound COMPLETELY different now. Rich, deep bass (not overpowering), good mids, albeit slightly recessed, and much tamer highs. Clarity is immaculate for anything under $600, and the tonality is lovely. I don't understand what changed, but they are now astounding. Can't recommend them more. I do hate the cable though. It twists and tangles constantly. I recommend buying a new cable.
Yo Timmy, I am wondering if you could do a video about how to make a setup etc. What price bracket is the sweet spot for someone who just listens from phone and when you need the DAP/DAC to truly use the potential of expensive IEM. Everyone talks about the products, but noone really give answers to true questions. For example buying 1k$ IEM is kinda a waste if you are listening from phone etc. and it's better to get a 800$ IEM + 200$ DAC. Same as you did your fragrance collection for every occasion for certain budget. Would love to see something similar how to get the best sound quality for the money while considering few categories of people. Who just listens from phone, willing to take another device DAC/DAP...
What's the noise isolation like? Could they work for live performance? DJing, so a bit of extra bass is welcome. Or you think I should rather look elsewhere?
I own the hd58x's as a daily driver, and I'm hesitant to get the arias as my iems as I believe they can be clashing for the same tuning? The 58x's are more on the dark side, so I do want something with a little more energy in the treble as an iem for the sake of variation. Do the arias fit this role? Or are actually in the same ballpark as the 58x?
