@@PrimeAudioReviews, thanks! We were having a very long discussion about Aria on Head-Fi. (I legit feel quite uncomfortable every time playing higher notes on my piano (a pretty high quality Yamaha Clavinova).
Thank you for the video! I was looking into the Aria's until you compared them to the HE01's, which is the IEM I use the most. My question is what would you recommend in a price jump in $50-$75 that would have a similar sound signature as the HE01's but be the next step up with clarity/detail/soundstage? Thank you for any direction you can point me to.
Just got this recently and I must say that this is my fav IEM compared to IT00 which I've had before, mainly because in my ears it fits better and has no driver flex problem (which was really annoying and anxiety-inducing). And I agree that this has cleaner sound and more airy sound presentation compared to IT00. Sadly I'm not quite a fan of this fabric-covered cable because it's just quite rigid and will be troublesome if it gets tangled up and especially "bent", it'd be so difficult for the cable to return to its original straight form, compared to those common uncovered 4-core cables. Other than that, I'm quite impressed by Aria.
Yes, I no longer recommend the IT00 because so many people have experienced the same issue. Aria is a super-value IEM and hard to match at that price point.
Would you choose this over the yume/starsea? Watching your reviews on the IEMs, I think I'm leaning more towards the yume/starsea (I prefer how resin shell feels in my ears, esp in the winter as I wear it outside most of the time), curious what you think about them. I listen to mostly jazz/pop as a reference. Thank you!
I could happily live with this or the Starsea as a daily driver. The Starsea has better noise isolation but I find both of them comfortable. The Yume doesn't suit my preference and I don't think it's a good choice for jazz or pop due to the hollow upper bass.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thanks for the reply! I think I might go with the Starsea then. You also mentioned the FH3 being a strong contender given its price in your other video, I assume you prefer the FH3 over the starsea/aria (I'm ok with stretching the budget a bit if it's significantly better, given my use)? Sorry if it's a very vague question - I've never spent more than $20 on earphones before, so I'm somewhat blind on this. Thanks again!
@@nicholaskawanto Yes, I do prefer the FH3 over both the Aria and Starsea and it's a great match for your music tastes. But you mentioned that you prefer resin and FH3 is aluminium. I'm really new to audio equipment and am having some trouble deciding. I'm planning on getting a balance cable and running them through a Fiio btr3k if that helps in any way.
Since it's your first set of IEMs, I'd recommend the Aria just because it comes with a wider variety of eartips. Getting a good fit and seal with IEMs is vital to get proper bass response and the best sound possible.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thanks for the response dude, really appreciate it! Originally it was between the the kzs and the starfields but these seem to be a better choice
have you tried whizzer a-he 03? if you do, which one is better to hearing instruments or orchestral song? I really appreciate it if there's an answer for it. because I don't know too much about this.
I never really liked the HE03. It has a blunt, overpowering bass but the mids and treble are okay. The Aria is a better match for instrumental and orchestral music in my opinion.
How do these compare with the CCA CA16 and KZ ZAS? The CA16 have a relaxed listening experience; I’m just curious how the Arias compare? Also how do the Arias compare with the ZAS which seem to have a more v-shaped sound?
Aria is a bit more dynamic with a light v-shape. T2 plus is very linear with more forward midrange. They both perform at a similar level in terms of technicalities.
When I have the time to just listen to something I want to hear, it's things like the DUNU DK-3001 Pro, my custom M-Fidelity SA-50, FiR Audio 5x5 or ItsFit Fusion. I know they're all expensive models but I can also have a great day with more affordable IEMs like the FiiO FH3, HZSound Heart Mirror, IKKO OH10 or Whizzer HE01.
I was using Kz zs10pro but it got damaged. Thinking of an upgrade. Some considerations are zax, zas, aria. Any sugessions which would be an optimal buy?
I haven't heard the BA5 but I did just get the BA8 in for review. I think the Aria is an excellent choice for a first-timer. It's especially good because Moondrop always includes a good variety of eartips and getting a good fit is essential to getting the best sound from an IEM. They're great for fps games too!
I know this is a lower tier so Ill just ask whether you like the fiio fh3 over this and the starfield. Also is the sensitivity of these significantly lower than the fiios? Reason I ask is because I find some of these moondrop iems a little quiet on low power daps/phones.
Yes, I still prefer the FH3 but I like the Aria/Starfield a lot. The sensitivity of these is just a tiny bit more than FH3 but should be fine for any daps/phones (unlike the SSR/SSP).
They're both great so you could really just choose the one you think looks best. However, if you want a bit more bass and body get the HE01. If you want something with less bass and more clarity go for the Aria.

@@PrimeAudioReviews i bought FiiO FH3 today. It is smaller than CCA C12, fits my small ears much better. Not much protrusion. I don't like Whizzer HE01 because of its 'lady' look with Wonder Woman symbol. 😅
I only use silicone eartips and I normally use my own extra-large ones that consistently give me a good fit. Worry about getting a good fit/seal first and then later you can experiment with different tip types. The Aria does not _need_ an amp but: on the desktop, I was using iFi Micro iDSD Signature. On the go, I was using my Shanling M5s and iBasso DX120 DAPs.

@@PrimeAudioReviews i have another question. Are these hard to drive ? I think moondrop ssr is a bit hard to drive because without a dongle it sounds too low for my preference. What do you think about aria ? I have read that starfield is easy to drive. Is it like starfield in this section ?

@@Assimilator702 Initial listening of the Aria and T4 back to back at night, and so lower volume made me love the t4 so much more... width... bass. The Aria is cleaner but the t4 has something special imo the Aria doesn't.. How does the Fiio compare with the Starfield?
@@iKaGe01 Where did you get your Aria? In the US we have to order from ShenzenAudio on Amazon. I would say the Fiio FH3 is also a set set that retrieves audio cues from recordings that the Starfield doesn't. Things like the air around mics and low level room sounds come through and pulls you into the recording that I've only heard on the Focal full size headphones.
KPE has more and boomier bass...the transition to the lean midrange is problematic. The Starfield was the KPE with reduced bass, but the bass was still boomy. The Aria fixes that. In summary, I never liked the KPE but like the Aria a lot. It is the better earphone. I actually also made an Aria video in which I discuss the KPE, too.
Hi, maybe you can help me😁, so from all the opinions first is they are basically identical with Starfields... but some people say no way the beautiful lushness of the midrange is not there because of the energy, yes yes better treble as for extension but grainy... bass pleasant but doesn’t hit as on Starfield, technicaly worse then Heart Mirrors better pleasant tonality, less resolving ... but because of the energy which gives better detail but can sound sometimes thin and because it is dryer also can be fatiguing... or the pro people... like them more then KXXS and Starfield .... can’t get my head around it...😆😜🍸❗️
It basically comes down to Aria's tighter bass. It makes bass notes faster and better-defined, which in turn improves clarity and resolution in the midrange. However, it makes Aria sound ever so slightly less warm and musical compared to the Starfield that has a little bass bleed and more relaxed presentation.
Thank you... which one do you prefer or...do you find the Aria indeering if that is a word 😆😁... to get it, because in the course of time I am willing to get both... + I don't understand how KXXS is $100 more and is not somehow better...😈✌️😁♥️
@@jaroslavfricek7772 I don't really have a preference for either one. But having said that, I don't have the time to spend with both of them long enough to really get into it. People will defend their personal choices to the death but I'm more apt to say "Just get the one you think looks better." because most people would have a hard time telling them apart in a blind test.
It's a tough choice really. Both IEMs are great. If I wanted something to take out and about (bus rides, walking through the mall etc) the FH3 would be my choice. But for sitting in a quiet, controlled environment I might choose the Aria instead.
Both are great. Remember that my L3 is a custom model, so it's probably different than the universal one. I prefer my custom L3 over this but Aria is still an awesome and good value IEM.

I know those aren't true to life examples, but after hearing enough of them and getting the same sense of 'meh' from all of them, that was enough for me to hold off. I think these _look_ a hell of a lot better than the Starfields.

@@PrimeAudioReviews okay thank you for the quick response
Is there any small iem (for small ears) that sounds like FiiO FH3? Or anything in the same league.
What do you mean how are your ears too small for normal IEMs
Absolutely. The Whizzer HE01 in this video is perfect for small ears.
@@PrimeAudioReviews i bought FiiO FH3 today. It is smaller than CCA C12, fits my small ears much better. Not much protrusion. I don't like Whizzer HE01 because of its 'lady' look with Wonder Woman symbol. 😅
@@barberismeable hehehe
please what kind of amp do you use to power the moondrop aria , and the best eartips , i hate foam eartips
Is aria good for shooting games? Does it have a good sound imaging?
Yes, of course.
@@PrimeAudioReviews between the Aria and he01, which ones have a wider soundstage and better imaging for FPS gaming? Or if there are even better IEMs in that price range for those use cases.
This compare to Queen of Audio, Vesper ? Anyone experienced it ? Thanks for some input.
iBasso00 or Aria if I already own the Blon03, T2, and T2 Plus?
If you want a bit more bass like BL03 get the iBasso. If you like the leaner sound of T2 then get Aria.
@@PrimeAudioReviews Thank you. Would you say the Aria is worth upgrading from the T2?
Forget iBasso IT00. I allready put it down because of the membrain deformation of the speakers! Despite of the good sounding It is a wrongly designed earphone! Forget it!
Yep, mine also has bad driver flex.
Hello, Heart mirror or aria?
Aria for warmer with a bit more bass and relaxed treble. Heart mirror for neutrality, detail and soundstage.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thanks you
Do you think aria will be an upgrade to moondrop ssr ?
Yes, it's definitely an upgrade.
@@PrimeAudioReviews i have another question. Are these hard to drive ? I think moondrop ssr is a bit hard to drive because without a dongle it sounds too low for my preference. What do you think about aria ? I have read that starfield is easy to drive. Is it like starfield in this section ?
@@benjaminalcarruzzuniga5074 it's not hard to drive at all mate, it goes loud with anything. Plug in play on phone or laptop matey
@@mrpoyo7968 i really like the sound of the ssr it's one of the most detailed neutral iem for the price i think i need a fun iem and aria looks perfect.
@@mrpoyo7968 Overall loudness isn’t the point. The drivers won’t reach their full potential without a good amount of power. I notice a considerable difference with the Starfields plugged into my phone vs my full desktop setup.
aria or starsea? whats your pick?
Hmm tough choice but I would probably go with the Aria. It's a bit more expressive and full-bodied although the Starsea has a bigger soundstage.
@@PrimeAudioReviews I mostly listen to metal. what do you prefer between the two?
I don't listen to a lot of metal but I'm thinking the Starsea might be better for that. It has faster bass and handles complex passages with faster transients.
Can I call it an upgrade over the BL 03 or 01?
Yes, you can, as long as you can live with a bit less bass.
I personally enjoy the aria less than the bl03 and I'm not a basshead- the er2xr is my favorite iem and its more flat than either one
@@Jason-tq3xr so the BL 03 has more bass than aria?
Aria Vs tin t2 which one
It depends what you're looking for. T2 if you want neutral with lighter bass, Aria if you want a more coloured sound.
Guessing this would compare well with the Tin Hifi T4s?
I've owned the T4s for a couple years now and really like them but as volume is increased, they get harsher
To be honest, I think these are way better than the T4.
@@PrimeAudioReviews May have to give them a shout just as a little treat. Thanks :)
I really want to buy my end game set but I just can't afford anything too out there right now
@@iKaGe01 The Fiio FH3 is a great set. I also own the Starfield but the FH3 is tuned overall considerably L3 better and there’s a higher level of detail retrieval. I might try the Aria but being so happy with the Starfield and Fiio FH3 it just means I’m spending more $$ just for the sake of acquiring new gear.
How does this compare to the Kanas Pro?
I haven't tried the Kanas Pro. 😄
@@audioreviews Thanks! Have the aria on the way. I hope it it goes really well.
Oh nice. You will love it I think.
Whizzer he 01 or Aria?
Whizzer if you like a warmer, fuller sound or Aria if you like something leaner and brighter.
The bottom line is the differences are minute, regardless of what people tell you - just look at the frequency response of each and you'll see they measure exactly the same.
People will defend their personal choices to the death but I'm more apt to say "Just get the one you think looks better." because most people would have a hard time telling them apart in a blind test.
Hi, one more question if to choose would be regardless the price Aria or KXXS which way to go...😃🙋♂️✌️☀️
@@jaroslavfricek7772 I would choose KXXS for the mirror finish.
This or a little bit more for Fh3?
It's a tough choice really. Both IEMs are great. If I wanted something to take out and about (bus rides, walking through the mall etc) the FH3 would be my choice. But for sitting in a quiet, controlled environment I might choose the Aria instead.
Anyone sell them currently in Australia?
This va L3?
Both are great. Remember that my L3 is a custom model, so it's probably different than the universal one. I prefer my custom L3 over this but Aria is still an awesome and good value IEM.
@@PrimeAudioReviews i come from blon 03, blon is ok but tries to hard for details and from this you get fatigue. I want something that sound effortless. i am scared of dissapointment
Try the Kinera BD005 Pro or Whizzer HE01.
Thanks for spanish subs
Does Moondrop Aria have a circular sound stage?
It's more of a triangular prism
How do these compare with CCA CA16?
Cleaner bass, , thinner midrange note size, improved clarity and crisper treble.
compared to fh3?
Less bass, thinner midrange notes, less expressive/rich tone, cooler tonality, more mature tuning overall.
I'm considering this for my first wired IEM. Currently using the galaxy buds+ and although I like its sound and convenience the latency sucks
Try it, you won't go back to TWS for audio quality.
Picked this up yesterday for $50 😅
Great price!
Amazing price actually. Thought 70€ (usually stuff is more expensive here in Germany) was pretty good already.

WooT! 🙌🎧❤
Doesn’t matter. I don’t like starfield sound anyway 😂
Yeah, I don't own the Starfields, but every sound demo I've heard of them hasn't been my cup of tea. I know those aren't true to life examples, but after hearing enough of them and getting the same sense of 'meh' from all of them, that was enough for me to hold off.
I think these _look_ a hell of a lot better than the Starfields.
@@Brunnen_Gee yap. I like this design. Starfield design was cool too. Too bad its color chips away
Be warned.
Sibilant vocals.
There is a ( hissing ) on the upper fréquences of the vocals.
It s just like there is was a "hhhhhhrrrrrr" each time they speak.
Vocal lovers. Stay away from these .
And that s not to say I m treble sensitive.
I listen to the sundara.
The sundara has that too but ,much less .
Try listening with a proper seal/fit and then let us know how they sound. So many Sundara listeners would disagree...
