    Hi, Chef Roland, I love all of your Recipes! They're all amazingly delicious! I would love to try this chicken soup too but I don't have white and Black peppercorns! What can I replace them with? Can I replace them with whitea and black pepper powders? Another thing is, could you please share some simple and delicious clear or Chinese herbal chicken soup recipe & video please? Thank you.

      Hi Cheryl. So sorry for our late reply. Whole peppercorns are better but if you really can’t get them, powder form is also okay. We have a herbal soup recipe made with pork. Not sure if that works for you. You can replace the pork with chicken ua-cam.com/video/0me_6ErkT4s/v-deo.html

    This is the soup that my parents used to cook especially when we were sick. They added ginger plus a bit vegies. Thank you surely it brings back a memory of parent's cooking. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and God bless.

    Definitely not the chicken soup my mum would make for us as children, but that's the beauty of collecting these recipes from different cultures! My Chinese Mother-in-Law has a unique recipe as well and I am eager to add this particular rendition to my files... could be the new, 'Go-To' for those cold, sick-filled winter days! Yum!

    Can we eat this soup during confinement?

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  11 місяців тому +1

      Hihi Taneng, according to the few websites on confinement that I saw, you can consume white pepper during confinement. thechinesesouplady.com/chinese-confinement-foods/ however, you may need to reduce the salt content as it will cause water retention. www.tianweisignature.com/blog/confinement-diet-then-vs-now-are-you-up-to-date/#:~:text=Then%3A%20Do%20Not%20Add%20Any,who%20is%20still%20being%20breastfed. We’re not a confinement expert so please google for more reliable information. Happy parenthood!

    • @allenchua823
      @allenchua823 3 роки тому

      I am not chef Ronald but i can advise you. You can get it from online marketplace.. Lazada, Shoppee. Look for Stainless steel seasoning. Make sure you get the right size.. The bigger one and not those tiny ones for tea leaves. And also get those better quality ones as those poor quality ones will get rusty after a few washes.
      You may use a soup/filter bag as i will prefer it as it give a clearer soup but some people may like the pepper flakes on the soup.
