Finally, we see a normal guy, I.e. an average guy with a day job who shows us we can do it. So many fasting videos are just none achievable to normal people working the 9-5. I like how Jerome keeps it simple. Big respect. Harness the power of fasting. Don't over think it. Consistency is key. Big respect.

Hey Guys! This community has been so helpful to me. I’ll be honest, I’m not fasting for weight loss. I’m 5’3 and weight between 123lbs and 127lbs. So weight isn’t the issue per say. However, I am trying to rewire my brain when it comes to food. I had a binge eating disorder and as of the end of last year, I have been breaking that chain. I have been fasting since 2018 so it’s not new to me. But because of binge eating, I have developed some dis-ease in my body. Nothing formally diagnosed……but I know I have fatigue, fibroids, and other things. That’s why I’m fasting. I want to do rolling 48’s to start healing my body. Can I count on one of you here in the comments to be my accountability partner??? I haven’t eaten since yesterday….would like to fast for 48-72 hours…..then OMAD (which I already do) for two days…..then back to rolling 48s or 72s. Would love an accountability partner.

I'm almost scared to say yes I will be. But maybe that's what I need too. I got myself up to 214 in 2022 at 5ft 2". I worked out 5 days a week 30 mins from March of last year until October. I went down only 24 lbs. The saying you can't work off a bad diet is true. This morning I weighed 200 🤪.
And so let's do this! I'm trying to do rolling 48s. I'm now 21 hours in. We can do this!! My goal weight is 140 lbs.

I've found that the easiest way for me to build my fasting muscle was to keto for a few weeks beforehand, and then do a 14 day water fast. My mind had to be in the right spot. The first 14 day fast wasn't great, I needed electrolytes a lot and needed to rest, but the 2nd 14 day fast was much easier. I'm now doing 2 meals a week and working on building that muscle. It does seem easier to fast 14 days than 3.5 over and over again, but I really want this to work.

I hope someone can advise…I completed my fast and sat down to eat but my body didn’t want the food. I was able to complete a parfait but only 1/2 of a shrimp taco. I tried to make the meal as low carb as possible to avoid strong hunger pangs during the next round but as a foodie I’m bothered that I didn’t enjoy my meal. Does anyone know if keeping calories lower would be okay for the next break? In case this happens again?
I’m hoping that as long as I keep it 500 calories and above that wouldn’t cause any starvation mode issues.
Full disclaimer: I decided to experiment with eating a low calorie snack at about 70 hours in…2 mini cucumbers with tajin and a couple of ounces of aged white cheddar, some Lily chocolate chips and a small glass of low carb wine (this was last night around 7pm). I got hungry this morning around 7am and ate at 11am. I thought this way would give me even more hours towards breaking the fast. I doubt this would have caused a problem because my body had a good 10+ hours between the snack and the actual meal.

    • @toscadonna
      @toscadonna 5 місяців тому +2

Lots of people don’t get “refeeding syndrome” when fasting with water & electrolytes. If you’re dry fasting, then yes, you should break that kind of fast with baking soda and some sort of juice like grape juice. Then ease into eating with broth and other none solids. This is to flush the kidneys. A dry fast is way different and is more for health than weight loss. If you’ve been fading with salt and potassium chloride, you’ll still have good HCL in your stomach, because the body uses the salt to make the hydrochloric acid.

I am happy and really excited about the new fasting routine you'll be doing with the 65's and other fasting blocks that you'll be using to see what will work for maintaining your incredible progress. Enjoy the new closer eating windows, you definitely earned it.

Wanted to suggest something for people looking for something to carry them through fasting days, KOOL AIDE. It's old school but I order a box of the flavors I love from Amazon. MANGO! Yummy! That way you can use your own sweet stuff.

Day 1/5 of my first fast is complete . I’m doing this because although I was never considered fat I carried weight that made it hard for clothes to fit right and for me to be confident (skinny fat). I’ve been on and off a-diet since 12 and I’m 22. Food affects my mood , my money, and self esteem. So happy to have discovered you . ❤

I think if it’s too hard for you. Have a berry and protein powder smoothie once a day.
It’s low calories, maybe 300 calories. Your still gonna lose heaps of weight.
If your worried you can’t work or go to the gym, just have a healthy smoothie drink before. Then just water or no calorie drinks

Wow well done 👍 🎉. How many days did you do? And did you plan your food to break your fast?
I cleaned out my fridge and pantry on my first day of fasting. To stay busy and too organise my meals better, when I break my fast.
I’m on day 3 now. I just have to get thro tonight, then I’ll eat tomorrow night. I’ve already planned a chicken stir fry with rice and probably have French toast with no sugar ice cream 🤣 and some one or two 75 cal chocolate mouses and some potatoes with tuna sweet corn and light mayonnaise if still hungry.
I really struggle at night time. But during the day , I’m fine with just coffee, water and Coke Zero. I was never a big eater during the day. But always like a big meal at night.
      Did the scale motivate you?
I check my weight every morning, that’s my motivation.
I think your right about day 2 and 3. I found it really hard last night. I hope I can just sleep tonight and not have cravings.

Jerome's achievement is truly inspiring. Such committment and discipline is impressive. Wish you well on your health journey Jerome!!!
My preference is biblical fasting with prayer as a follower of Jesus Christ. That said, we should not take sin lightly or have a favourite. Instead we should ask God to help free us from gluttony and food addiction, and vanity. Having experience of all three, I'm asking Jesus to help me on my journey. He died for our sins (hence Easter), so sin is a big deal because it has serious consequences. But we can be forgiven and freed from sin if we trust our sins can be forgiven by Jesus’s sacrifice on cross and follow Jesus Christ.
Pray everyone succeeds on their health journey.
"For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life." John 3:16

@@strawberrybeachRefeed with a big steak and a big glass of raw milk then don’t eat. Eat all that in 1 to 2 hours. Don’t drag it out so that you release extra insulin. Then fast again. If you’re really heavy, do 3 days fast, refeed steak, 2 days fast, refeed steak, etc. until you get to where you’re within 10 lbs of your ideal weight. Then you can cut the fasting window down. Take long, slow walks when you’re fasting so that all of the energy from those walks comes from your body fat. Also know that if you only had one refeed meal and went back to fasting, you didn’t gain all of that weight back. It’s the body holding onto water, and sometimes it takes the body some time to recalibrate itself when you’re fasting. If you’re not eating, you’re not gaining weight even if the scale disagrees. I had one time during my first fasting session where I stayed at the same 167 lb weight for 5 days despite not eating, walking, and having good, short refeeds, but when my body recalibrated on the 6th day, I was 160 lbs. Be patient with yourself.
