My easy recipes and crafts are here ua-cam.com/play/PLxIYCyTLBED8ZP5_UDGRXUAvbPiuxOh95.html My Instant Pot is the 6 litre ("7-in-1") which works great for our family of 4 and would easily work for a family of 6. The steamer basket from IKEA is called STABIL.
Since I first got married I've had a no shoes indoors rule, and all my kids have it in their homes too. My daughter went from tidying her room by shoving everything under the bed to a very houseproud "Are the dog's paws clean".😂 When I was nursing I always told families to buy Granny a pair of trainers for indoors. So many broken hips from the elderly falling in their own homes from wearing floppy old slippers.
You are so right about proper shoes for grannies! My Mum wears indoor shoes too now (Sketchers)...she fell and broke her wrist once and isn't keen to repeat the experience!
Have not left a not in a while, but always enjoy your videos so so much!!! I use my Instant Pot for so much, I bought a second one. I make my rice in the IP. I forgot to thaw anything for dinner the other night and went down and got frozen ribs out of the freezer. Put them in the IP with a litter water and BBQ sauce.....within an hour I had fall apart tender ribs. Stuck them under the broiler for a few minutes and it was so good. If anyone wants to learn more, I watch, Six Sister's Stuff, and Pressure Luck Cooking on UA-cam...have learned to fix so many dishes. Thank you again for your videos...I have started and started over and over again, now do always dress to shoes and makes so much difference. I also watch Secret Slob and she is so so good. I saw a video the other day of you with her mom. Putting together my Control Journal now and think it is making such a difference for me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
I am a recent subscriber and I first off want to say thank you. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I am definitely going to have a go at FlyLady following your videos. I have looked at it before but found it a bit overwhelming so I really appreciate you breaking it down into such easy steps and being a cheerleader for everyone who watches! My top 3 kitchen gadgets would be my sandwich press - great for toasting my home made sourdough too, coffee machine - espresso type though and my Thermomix - that I have owned for almost two years and I use it at least 4/5 times a week for everything...from grinding rice/grains/dried pulses into flour and making my own nut butters to cooking rice and chilli/bolognese/curry etc. I also use a regular bread maker to make bread for my husband (I am gluten intolerant and so only eat traditional sourdough) which saves on plastic bread bags as well as preservatives in supermarket bread. Thanks Diane....Live long and prosper 🖖🏼
Thank you! As a flybaby, I have started meal planning and it seems like the instapot will help me reduce the amount of time spent in front of the stove. Thank you for the good cheer! Happy Little Friday!
Sue here in Canada . We love the instant pot and rice cooker as well. I’m new to the fly lady method so I have been binge watching your wonderful videos. We are getting our apartment painted which means we are in chaos but with your help and enthusiasm I know I can get back on track. Thanks.
Appreciate your encouragement and sharing with us. For me, Your early encouragement to make the Flylady system work for me has been critical. Also your repeated encouragement to use that timer! 😁 I found that shining the sink must be done in the morning to make things work for me. And yes, there is a difference in the home - it is so much nicer, and in my own attitude- I feel "at rest," calmer, happier. Your excellent example and generous encouragement have made all the difference. Thank you so much!
I have a good quality 9 by 11 stainless steel pan I have had since 1973. It has a sliding removable lid. I use on a daily basis , it looks like new. I like an electric kettle and coffee pot. I keep these on my counter, but have replaced many times over the years. Gym was this morning, Alan has a Dr appointment this afternoon then some errand requests from the sons.
Little Friday! I love 😍 it! I'm going to introduce that in my family. Thank you so much for posting these videos - they bring such joy! You're a treasure! 😊
I think your style is beautiful, the cheerful and sweet mannerisms are very encouraging..i live in Texas..the dust can be a daily or twice a day battle..i also have 3 chronic illenesses I battle with..the 15 minute challenge has really helped..pacing is essential to keep me going with the basics..i am blessed with an outstanding family that does most of the housekeeping..the 15 minute segments have given me the joy of being productive in my own home. I watch you most every day..thank for your time and sweet, sweet and fun videos.
Good morning Diana You look beautiful And I love the way you make time for yourself Which I wasn't doing And I love the idea of a timer brilliant Once again thank you God bless you always
Thanks Diane! I also love my Instant Pot and use it several times a week. The only accessories I purchased were extra sealing rings. I use one for sweet and one for savory. It also makes great rice. I am not one for gadgets, but this was a good purchase for our family.
Agree, agree and agree! I got my first rice cooker years ago and wouldn't be without one ever since. Coincidentally I've been busy and used my instant pot nearly ever day this week, great minds think alike 😄☕
We take off our shoes at my house (I am in the US) and know lots of people that do, especially with babies playing on the floor. I also setup my automatic timer coffee maker it’s my bff!
Good morning from Charleston, WV, USA. I have had an instant pot for awhile and haven’t used it. I was a little intimidated by it. Thank you for this video. I think I’m ready to try it.
Use your IP! There’s a bit of a learning curve, so read the directions. Also add 15 min to the time you expect food to be done because it needs to build up pressure before it starts cooking. Once you get used to it, it’ll be the go-to appliance in your kitchen!
I love your videos and I don't comment much because I watch it on my television through Roku. Instead of wearing shoes I put my hair up in a clip because I have long hair. When my hair is in a bun and clipped up, I'm all business. That's a modification to fly lady that works for me. but I also make other little modifications just so that it fits my life. I typically run errands only once a month and I do it on a Saturday because I work out of the home. My kitchen helpers it's a little pot that I heat water in for tea on the stove. It's just enough for one. And I love the hot logic casserole or other food item warm up thingy. I can take a Frozen leftover but it in the hot logic and when I get home from work it is warm to over 165 ferinheight. I use it multiple times a week. But it only works on already cooked food like leftovers or frozen meals. I live alone so I don't usually need to make anything very large. But when I do it's nice to freeze it in portions and then reheat it later in the hot logic.
You look great, including beachy hair! Blue is your color. I love kitchen tools that are useful. Great idea to have a keep warm rice cooker. I'm hoping to find one with stainless steel insert. Instant pot n also the simple stovetop Duo pressure cookers are awesome. I want to try making yogurt in the instant pot.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my rice cooker!!! I I had a Insta pot...I wasn't crazy about it...im a girl that makes my soups and things in a regular pot..I can't seem to get use to all those dials...it's just me and my husband now so it's too much for us...it definitely is great though for a family...have a great day! X😊💖🌷
Would love to learn the authentic espresso method in a future hygge video. So special! Wondering if Instapot keeps down cooking aromas. I love cabbage and Brussels sprouts and broccoli but I don't like when the aromas get into the shared hallway of my condo building. Thanks for the Black Friday tip. I might go for it this year. PS: You look great today! 😎
Your comment made me laugh because I love cruciferous veggies too, and have a communal breezeway in my building. Those %$#! brussel sprouts! 🤨 (Reminds me of an old Big Bang episode when Sheldon ate a large bowl of them! ⚠️)
@Ellen Mac Thank you for all the great information. Maybe the IP would be better for the tougher veg like Brussels sprouts or a whole head of cabbage. Maybe I should just seal brocolli in tin foil with water and lemon and bake it. Love your advice. ❤🥦❤🥘❤👍🥂
I ❤ that top and neckline on you, SO pretty! You've convinced me to get a rice cooker today. I cook various rices 2-3 times a week and the rice cooker seems so much easier/cleaner than the "pot on stove" method - and love that warmer function! I use my crockpot a lot, especially fall-winter. I made beef stroganoff in it a couple nights ago. It's one of my favorite dishes - that SAUCE! I sauteed the beef strips in a "generous" amount of Presidente butter. I fell in love with Presidente butter when vacationing in Paris and my local grocery store started carrying it this past year (I almost did a cartwheel in the dairy section...). It's the only butter I use now - nothing compares to its flavor and the richness it imparts. 😇 (Those Normandy cows know what they're doing. 😄) I am very tempted to get an Instapot. I have a 20% off coupon at BB&B. Bed, Bath & Beyond is a "rainy day" guilty pleasure and it's overcast today, so...😍🌫. Going to make your mum's stew for dinner and will look that up now. 😋 Thanks, Diane! 🇩🇰❤ 😘🍷
@@barbaram5214 Publix carries it and I notice every time I buy it that more and more are buying it also. It's what the French chefs use. The flavor is to die for...slather on steaks, use in mashed potatoes, incredible in scrambled eggs, etc. Magnifique!
No outdoor shoes in our house but we do wear indoor shoes as we have all hard floors downstairs....shoes DO make you feel ready for 'business' in your home. We have no gadgets as such, no microwave and once the toaster finally gives up I shall use the grill as the toast is much nicer! I do have crockpot which I love! And a bread machine as we make all our own bread, naans, teacakes etc...and a yoghurt maker...but sadly no cow! 🤣🤣. 2 1/2 weeks of hols left and we are loving it....but can't wait to get back into the swing of cleaning and getting ready for .....CHRISTMAS! School uniform is ready...even ironed! My DD10 watches your videos and has asked me to teach her some stuff so she can help more and be ready for adult life!!! That was a surprise...at her age it wouldn't have crossed my mind...better get in there quick before she grows out of the helpful phase! Lots of love Diane.....I'm hanging in there til Sept 3rd...then I shall be back in full swing and looking to you for cheerleading and inspiring videos...thank you as always xxx
Thank you for sharing your favorite items for cooking!!! Your rice cooker is french but no longer availaible!!Seb is a very old and good brand!!My pressure cooker is from Seb and i love it!!! So quick and easy for stews, steamed veggies. Bises
I also take off my shoes here in the US. I have been doing this since I first had my own home and then children. I now live alone and it's just part of life. I see it as healthier & cleaner. I'm amazed at the dust & dirt still in a house when cleaning but at least I know there's not street cooties from the bottom of my shoes. I've downsized fav items do use small Italian/Cuban coffee pot on stove for espresso or watered down more as regular coffee since my Keurig died. Would love insta pot but use crockpot in winter & have juicer. Diane I don't know if you'll read all this but with your dress to shoes & make up each day do you reapply makeup after your swim??
I cook rice in my Instant Pot, but I’ve never thought of putting the steamer basket in there. Hmmm...I think I finally have an excuse to get rid of the steaming appliance someone gave me. Yay! I’ve been dying to declutter that sucker, but I also tend to forget and over-steam stuff, especially if I do it on the stove. Thanks as always for your clear and helpful ideas!
I loved my rice cooker but it broke. I also use at least 4 times a week the instantpot. I also have my expreso maker that is like the one you showed but plugable, then I use a smart plug and alexa to control it. I try to leave it ready every night but sometimes I give in.
The IP is my favorite gadget ever. I was first introduced to it by you and we now use it for delicious soups, to saute meat for casseroles, and for everything that we used to use a slow cooker for. DH used to say that he hated soup but not anymore! It makes the most delicious boiled eggs and the most tender baked potatoes! I like your strainer insert; I would like to check into one of those for steamed veggies. My other favorite newer gadget is my electric kettle. What did I ever do without one? I now drink tea more often and love having boiling water at the ready:) Also, got the electric kettle idea from you. Love Scandinavia traditions. As always, this has been a joy to watch, your content is so organized and happy :)
I think your coffee maker looks nice. I'm obsessed with little white appliances. 😛 My top 3 gadgets would be a nutribullet, electric kettle and crockpot. I default to the oven so I've yet to try an instant pot. Good to know that they won't blow up. 😂
I love my rice cooker, and my crock pot, and, of course my coffee maker is a must !!! :) ....I'm still thinking about getting an Instant Pot :) tfs 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Now I am wondering if the air fryer will be on your list? I have two of those also...put a cutting board over the top of my stove a while back, and removed the knobs. I do keep one induction burner on the stove in case anyone needs it. Love your videos and you just get more beautiful everyday!
Love your videos Diane. Came to you for flylady but subscribed because I just love your bubbly self and all the additional content you share as well. I have been very curious about the Instant Pot and have been wondering if it would be worth the investment - it being one of your top three gadgets is "food for thought" indeed. Thx!
Glad you are enjoying the vids! If you are thinking of buying an Instant Pot, you might want to hold off for another couple of months - they always have fantastic deals on them in the run up to Christmas (Black Friday deals, etc)
One thing to consider re the instant pot and some slow cookers, is their weight. IPs are so very heavy for me so I don't have one, and my husband or son have to lift the ceramic slow cooker insert every time for me.
The Instant Pot is great for so many things! Soups, eggs, spaghetti and meatballs, cooking any meat from frozen, baking potatoes, cooking any kind of rice/grain, oats. You can make wonderful desserts in them too!
This was great. I'm going to get a rice maker as we eat quinoa several times a week. Could you show us how you make Italian coffee in the little pot? I love coffee, and I would like to know how to use that pot, as I might need to get one of those, too! Thanks for making these informative and motivating videos.
I really missed my "indoor shoes" when I was on holiday! My poor feet 😂 My DH knows it's a very bad day when I'm wearing slippers when he comes home! 😬 Love this round up, thank you! I've been eyeing up an instant pot, thanks for the honest thoughts 😊 x x x
Hi from the U.K., Diane! Love this - I have an instapot which I do use, but I’m still a bit baffled by. Especially the pot in pot thing. I’ve made some lovely soups and stews in mine though, following your recipes, Diane! Maybe you could do a vid on that, to break it down so it’s easy to understand? Lately I’ve come across loads of recipes that say - “ now using a food processor” or “now use a blender”. I don’t have either of those! They are both on my list of things to get for the kitchen. If you have a food processor or blender, which one do you have? There’s so many out there, and I don’t want them to end up in landfill next year because they were rubbish! Thanks.
Hi Diane . My 3 favourite kitchen gadgets which I use daily are 1 a halogen oven which will roast grill or steam as well as bake cakes. They are wonderful for rotary style chickens . 2 I love my frappe maker which also froths milk for cappuccinos .The frappe s in Cyprus are made differently from the slushy frappe they do in many cafes here. 3 My microwave for heating meals that have been prepared and previously cooked and sometimes frozen. My food processor has also been used a lot this summer for fresh fruit smoothies and things. I used to cook with a pressure cooker when I worked secularly and we were cooking for at least 5. I find I,m just not using it these days. The instant pot seems to be a firm favourite with many people Have a great weekend. Love from Margaret in Wales
My favorite kitchen gadget is our crockpot. We use it all year long but mostly fall and winter. I haven’t ventured into Insta-Pot land yet but maybe now I should. I have never used a rice steamer either. Lol I’m curious as to where your son studied in the US and how he liked his experience?
Washington is beautiful. If you ever make it to Chicago please let us know! I grew up in Chicago and now live in the suburbs. I would love to show you Chicago!
I love my instant pot! It has made man dishes so much easier, especially rice. I don’t find the slow cooker option hot enough though, how do you find the temp do you have to cook things extra long?
There are thousands of them here on UA-cam! 😄😄😄 But you can see me using mine on my recipe videos which are here... ua-cam.com/play/PLxIYCyTLBED8ZP5_UDGRXUAvbPiuxOh95.html
Not sure if this has already been mentioned: Don’t buy the Teflon pot-after a while it flakes off! (Many of us in the PC Facebook group have had to replace ours with stainless steel-my brand came with Teflon)l
Finally I get perfect hard boiled eggs when I use the 5-5-5 (minutes) cooking time. 5 min. cook once the pressure is reached, 5 min. cool down natural pressure release, 5 min. ice bath plunge.

You are so right about proper shoes for grannies! My Mum wears indoor shoes too now (Sketchers)...she fell and broke her wrist once and isn't keen to repeat the experience!

This all fit looks great on you!
Thank you! As a flybaby, I have started meal planning and it seems like the instapot will help me reduce the amount of time spent in front of the stove. Thank you for the good cheer! Happy Little Friday!
Your hair style is perfect on you. I love it. You are adorbs.

Pretty . Wow your looking so Glamorous.. Happy Day .
Love you .Thanks for everything !!!
Have seen lots of hype about the air fryer but the exorbitant cost/noise puts me off! LOL!
And I bought two that were non stick and hated them...then bought the Paula Deen 8.5 and love it so much..ceramic coating. @@DianeinDenmark
@@patmulh4245 thanks for the advice on the ceramic version.
Oooh of course! I will definitely wait. Thank you so much for the advice.
Love these wee bonus videos- fair cheered me up this morning! I am keeping an eyes peeled for a good deal on an instant pot.
There are often good deals up to Christmas, Ingrid. If I remember rightly, I got my Instant Pot in one of those Black Friday sales.
I’m new to your channel so I’m glad you explained your shoes because I was thinking there is no way I will ware my shoes in the house
How did you learn to do all these gods in it?
This was great. I'm going to get a rice maker as we eat quinoa several times a week. Could you show us how you make Italian coffee in the little pot? I love coffee, and I would like to know how to use that pot, as I might need to get one of those, too! Thanks for making these informative and motivating videos.
Looking good .
Your hair is adorable - great video!
I love dress to shoes, its one of many things I did bbn before the flylady program.
You are in great company with those that don't like clowns! HA!!!! 😄
I hate clowns, too!
Hi K! I got my Instant Pot as a deal (before Christmas, think it was a Black Friday thing). Definitely worth it if you can get a decent discount! LOL!
@@DianeinDenmark Thanks, I'll keep my eyes peeled 😉 😊 x x x
❤️
I love your bathroom. So unique, your whole house is lovely. Thanks for the info on your fav appliances. Have a fun time!! 🎪
Thanks.
How much time do u use that day then? I am trying to figure out how much time to squeeze out and not do other stuff....
The instant pot seems to be a firm favourite with many people
Have a great weekend. Love from Margaret in Wales
Love your videos. So full of information and helpful hints. Thank you.
I've had my wolfgang puck pressure cooker since 2003. and I love it.
Minestrone soup, pasta sauce, lazy day cabbage, ( cabbage rolls all chopped up), chicken and rice. anything!
He was in Washington State (Sumner) and thorougly loved it. Apart from all the rain - it is a very green state! LOL!
I haven't noticed a difference, to be honest.
I agree! Three very useful gadgets!! I also love my waffle iron, I use it all the time! Xx
Oooo, yes, waffle irons! We have one here, one in our Swedish cabin 😍
Most instant pots have a rice function so you don’t need two appliances unless you’re using both at the same time.
Hi Trine! My ricecooker is better at rice than my Instant Pot. Especially as my rice cooker has a non-stick pan = easier clean up 😁
Can you make an instant pot instructional video??? Please 😄
There are thousands of them here on UA-cam! 😄😄😄 But you can see me using mine on my recipe videos which are here... ua-cam.com/play/PLxIYCyTLBED8ZP5_UDGRXUAvbPiuxOh95.html
Thanks for the Instant Pot review!!!
Another great video, Diane. Thank you for the food and crafts link 😊. I can’t stand clowns either!
Do/Can Instant Pots explode like pressure cookers used to?
I love using my rice cooker!
Yay, glad to have another member of the Rice Cooker Appreciation Club! 🖐😄
Not sure if this has already been mentioned: Don’t buy the Teflon pot-after a while it flakes off! (Many of us in the PC Facebook group have had to replace ours with stainless steel-my brand came with Teflon)l
Thanks for the info, Debbie - that is so good to know!
Boiled eggs
Finally I get perfect hard boiled eggs when I use the 5-5-5 (minutes) cooking time. 5 min. cook once the pressure is reached, 5 min. cool down natural pressure release, 5 min. ice bath plunge.
Good afternoon Diane in Denmark.
Good afternoon to you, too, Serah!
Hi Diane, can you cook pasta in the rice cooker?
Haha never mind you've already answered my question.. sry i got impatient 😂😂
No worries! 😄
H
My daughter was wondering if you speak Danish with a Scottish accent.
Yes, I have a slight Scottish accent.
You talk way too rapidly so it is difficult to follow your thoughts
Hi Sharon! Use the cogwheel on the screen (settings) to adjust the playback speed of the video. You can speed me up or slow me down!
