    YOU HAD CREATED A PRETZEL WAR IN MY HOUSE. THE PRETZEL TURNED OUT SO DELICIOUS THAT OUR DAUGHTER AND MY WIFE STARTED FIGHTING FOR PRETZEL. UNFORTUNATELY, I END UP WITH ONLY ONE PRETZEL. NEXT TIME I HAVE TO DOUBLE THE QUANTITY. Thanks for uploading a great recipe.

      @@StephenKershaw1 in the United States, there is a popular snack that is small and crunchy called a pretzel, therefore we refer to these larger dough pretzels as 'soft pretzels.' It's not a matter of existence, it's just a difference in lexicon and language.

      Mine turned out good, too, but I used pretzel salt, 1 tablespoon was way too much. also, I added at least one more cup of flour. I had to scrape some of the salt off. all said and done. It turned out good.

    I made this just now and it were so good and easy to make. Your instructions is so clear and easy to follow. The dough is so easy to handle and this is so astonishing as most recipe video I've tried will have much more difficult dough as showed by the respective chef. In fact, this is my second try on pretzel recipe after I failed so bad on another recipe (which supposed to be no knead and super easy). I'm truly thankful and look forward to try more recipes from you.

    These are great! My father found this video a few years ago and they have been a family staple ever since! We’ve experimented and if you want, you can chop them into bits and make pretzel bites, as well as exchange the salt for tossing them in cinnamon sugar and they go wonderfully with a cream cheese dip

    This is simply the best tasting homemade pretzel recipe I’ve found. Not complicated. Easy and good. I used kosher salt for the topping. Regular pretzel salt is a bit harsh and too salty for my taste. This is a keeper. Highly recommend trying this recipe. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video.

  • @hayleysmallwood3298
    @hayleysmallwood3298 7 років тому

    I made this recipe and it came out absolutely delicious. I used 2% milk and unsalted butter. I let them rise for almost 2 hours.
    I did not use all of the rest of my butter for brushing over them, only about half.
    After calculating everything that I used, I figured out that each pretzel should be anywhere between 130-140 calories depending on how evenly you divide the dough. Just thought I would add this as I know people like to know how many calories you are looking at.
    Great and easy recipe!

Some recipes had bread flour, brown sugar, egg wash and even to use a lye instead of baking soda. Also love how a stand mixer (to mix) and stovetop (for baking soda dip) was not used So happy I came across your video. Thank you for sharing 🙏👍🤩

    I’ve made this recipe 2 Times now and my only complaints is that it’s a really soft dough so it’s a little hard to roll, and you have to be careful dipping it in the baking soda water. Other than that it’s is really really soft and yummy, I had never made pretzels before and this was really simple to follow. I’m going to try and make bagels with it tonight.

    Guys if u don't have baking soda use baking powder
    Every 1 teaspoon of baking soda use 4 teaspoons of baking powder
    For every half teaspoon of baking soda use 2 teaspoons of baking powder

    These are great. I made them today for a crowd of very hungry and appreciative twentysomethings. One thing I changed was to bake them for a little longer than 9-11 minutes-gave them a darker color and a firmer crust but didn't burn. Great recipe for a first time making pretzels!

    Putting the pretzels in boiling baking soda water gives them a much chewier soft pretzel texture!

      @croutoncrackerjacks  6 років тому

      For those of us that like our pretzels to have a slight chew without being so hard as to rival chewing on a car tire, just warm water will do. But if you like yours chewier, by all means, boil them.

    This is the perfect recipe!! Thank you for sharing it; the pretzels come out so light and fluffy and not heavy tasting at all. I've had a few different recipes and none of them match up to this. I will be saving this one and being sure to use it over and over again!

    My husband is a huge fan of soft pretzels so for valentines day, I'll be surprising him with home made ones. This seems like such an easy step by step. I feel confident that I can do them justice thanks to you x) If I remember, I'll update this after valentines day with his reaction.
    Edit: wow wow wow! They were so soft and fluffy and delicious. It was a huge success with the hubby. He even had a hand in rolling a few out. We had fun making them together and enjoyed them very much. Can't believe they were this simple ^_^

    I love your recipes but more, I enjoy the way you teach and give tips or reasons for why you, for example, put the blueberries in the flour mixture so the blueberries won't sink. Thank you!

    OH my what a wonderful recipe.
    I use this recipe to make pretzel buns for sandwiches and I bake them on a pizza stone; talk about tasty.
    I have substitute the white flour for wheat flour and the white sugar for brown sugar (light).
    I don't know why I need to mix the soda in hot water because it dissolve better in cold water just like cornstarch so I mixed it in cold water then heated it up.
    I also place the soda solution in a deep mixing bowl as oppose to shallow. That way I was able to cup and submerge each pretzel in my hand and transfer directly to the baking sheet.
