Grading video games is like grading microwave ovens. Mass production anything should NEVER be graded, and if you think that people are going to be stupid enough to pay 500 time the original cost for a video game, you'd be correct. There's a sucker born every minute.
I remember some of these from when I was younger, the UK versions were sometimes a little different from the US games. Just sitting here kicking myself for where these games ended up. Thank you, Don Charles in the UK
I remember stacks of Earth ounds that didn’t sell at Toys r us two years after it’s release just sitting in the top shelf in the game section with. $9.98 price snd they still couldn’t sell them.
My husband and I are gamers and collectors ourselves and I hadn't even heard of some of these! Wow. He's mostly into Nintendo things, so it was cool to hear games we've been looking for too. Thanks for this video!
Just so you know, Clay Fighter Sculpters Cut is an updated version of Clayfighters 63 1/3. It was only released for rental at Blockbuster stores, that's why it's so rare and doesn't come with a box.
Whenever people see cardboard boxes, it translates in their minds as “disposable.” It’s common to find Sega Master System and Genesis games with boxes since they came in plastic cases. Whereas Nintendo games all came in cardboard, so you mostly find those without boxes.
When the video started I was wondering if you would cover any Ultima games. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to find Ultima Escape From Mt Drash for the Commodore Vic 20. Most expensive cassette I have gotten my hands on
I saw an add on my local fb rummage page about 5 years ago. Guy had a couple boxes of PS2 games. I could see a few titles on top that I never heard of. Ended up going to take a look at them and got 40 that were on the most rare/scarce games list for the PS2 (plus others). Quite a few RPG's from Japan that were in cardboard boxes w/dvd's. Paid $3 per game. And yes I don't think I've ever came across Neo Geo in the wild. I remember when the Neo Geo was in specialty game stores in the local malls. It was $600 so I bought the Sega CD player instead, get home and realize I need a Genesis to play it. Ended up going back and buying the Genesis. Cost about what the Neo Geo would of anyways lol but the Geo games were all $200 each. My favorite is when everyone was all nuts about the PS1 and I had the 3DO. I was like "the Ps1 sucks". But looking back the 3DO had a lot of horrible games. They let anyone and everyone make them was part of that problem.
I bought the Keio Flying Squadron game in 1998 on a whim. It sat in my closet for years and was never played. A few years ago I went through some old boxes and there it was. I put it on eBay at the time and it bid up to $840 or so. Hard to believe it’s increased so much in value since I listed mine, but it has. $3,000… wow.
Clayfighters sculptors cut was only released for rental at blockbusters. The only ways to get this was to rent it and keep it or buy it when they sold out. They only made 20,000 and most boxes were thrown out. The manuals were sometimes rented so they rarely made it. I have one cib and it’s one of my most expensive game’s. Anyone that wants a complete n64 set must have this, meaning only 20k people can have complete n64 sets. Accounting that all 20k cartridges made it, which they didn’t. I would have included rule of rose for ps2 because of the history but nice video nonetheless.
Hi Don - I know nothing about video games, but would certainly like to keep an eye out for any that are worth as much as you say these are. I did a quick search on Facebook Marketplace near me for one - Earthbound - and it looks like there are a bunch for sale for $15 - $30, but they appear to be new reproductions? Do they reproduce vintage games? How do we know the difference aside from looking for them still in packaging?
I heard some of the rarest games for the Atari 2600 were mail-order only, like _Tooth Protectors_ which I just saw a review for, and a machine language programming cartridge. Others I don't know the rarity were _Chase the Chuckwagon_ (one of the worst games made) and _Kool-Aid Man_ which a friend had and was OK. I learned much later that Sears Tele Games were essentially an Atari system. Maybe that made sense in 1977-80 before Atari system became a hit with Space Invaders since they needed someone to sell their stuff. I got some of my Atari carts at J.C. Penney and don't remember even looking in Sears. I do have a few with the Tele Games label that were handed down to me.
Should have also mentioned that on the Superman Atari 2600 game the Superman letters are yellow instead or red the red version is common also it says Sears telegames
I own Pokemon Emerald. Complete but not sealed. That is an insane price for graded and sealed. The irony of that auction is that shipping is $15.50. I think for whatever that final bid is, the seller can throw in free shipping. LOL
That Sonic The Hedgehog has a terrible eBay listing. It's a very rare "retail" version of the game. The majority of copies were the "Not For Resale" version that was bundled with consoles.
May I clarify the reason that the 1st game “Mike Tyson Punch out” is so high is because it is a “5 Screw Variant” if you have the 3 screw standard it is like a $40 cart CIB is like $200
It absolutely was not a 5 screw. If you revisit the eBay listing it was a 3 screw. The one that sold wasn’t even a first print. It is a very clean early print.
Not even close to the most valuable used games. A lot of valuable games yes but no mention of games like Atari Air Raid, TG16 Magical Chase, or even Neo Turf Masters.
There are no records of sales for those in the last year. The video only covers as I state what is actually selling right now. There are hundreds of games that sell well also but I didn't care to do a 4 hours video covering them all.
I love most of your videos but this is one is one of my least favorite since finding these vintage games complete in the box is pretty much impossible I would rather have a realistic top list with games that are sold as just the cartridge.

I sold a sealed copy of Sonic CD, graded by WATA at 9.8 A+ for $2600+ in February. Only had $88 into it from purchase and grading costs
U think it worth grading then?

New subscriber here. I definitely have expanded my knowledge by viewing your videos. Thanks for upgrading my brain.
Yep. I am very surprised. Especially about empty boxes! Love seeing these old ads!!!
Whenever people see cardboard boxes, it translates in their minds as “disposable.”

That Scream inspired commercial after the credits was AMAZING!! Loved it lol

I always appreciate the information. Video games aren’t “my thing,” but I have to make the most of my limited sources. Thank you!
Crazy money ! Thanks for the video !!!

Thanks for the video and information

Damn I need to start looking through my old Games!
What about the Intellivision game system?
Worth anything?
I still have mine, with a bunch of game cartridges
Excellent 👍 thanks once again
I enjoyed the video. Thanks
How do I go about getting a list of tapes that are selling. Your help would be greatly appreciated 🙏
How much would a sealed copy of The Mummy for gameboy color go for if it is prestine?
It’s gotta specifically be clay fighter: sculpters cut on the 64. It was a blockbuster rental exclusive
Even newer ps2 wii games have nice value. The horror games usually are the most. Thank good for ebay barcode scanner.

I just bought super bowling dirt cheap locally. It was in a n64 lot buried. Deals are out there just have to be constantly vigilant.
I wonder what I would get for a sealed copy of road rash 3 for defamation, although not as rare but should still see a premium still being sealed

I have the chrono trigger with the box, the maps, every single thing that came with it except for the “Nintendo power subscribe today” ad
A big thumbs up from me. Could you make a video about computer games worth, and the older Playstation games worth also? Thank you!
My father collected nes and snes... nib and cib.. Sold almost all..made great money.
I have found and sold Atari Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Cartridge only sold $350
Love your videos man. But that chrono trigger had a players guide. Which over exceeds the value of the game CIB
Nice good info thank you ehhh
Joe Montana football was the BANG!!!! Who was the the "SEGA!!!" voice???
Should have also mentioned that on the Superman Atari 2600 game the Superman letters are yellow instead or red the red version is common also it says Sears telegames
Just started..now I got a whole walk in cupboard full of games .I bet it got none on here..I'll report back .lol

I have over 2500 of the tapes.
I remember several of those...who knew at the time?
Damn...😒...I don't got any of'em...☹

Watch out for the wata graded items. It has been proven that they have graded fake games and missed that they were fake.
And then he shrunk my head lmao
I own super metros legends of Zelda super Mario donkey Kong country my favorite games ever for Super Nintendo
👽🍻
Wow..I realize know nothing about this stuff!
We don’t see video game commercials anymore
Mike Tyson has to be 5 screw to sell for that much.
Holy cow... I'm sitting on 6 of those games... I thought Clay Fighters sucked worse than a Hoover and simply put the game in storage...
Did you list it? If so, what did it sell for?
Tell you what, I'll give you $20 for the whole lot.
Sounds fair.
I sold my Clayfighter for in store credit .. not even gonna say what I got 😔

['ve got games
