In India, being round and overweight is often seen as a sign of wealth and prosperity. Being thin is generally associated with poverty. Quite the opposite in the US.

@@xxjessabugxx Never been on welfare, but when I got fat and had to lose weight I went grocery shopping with my nutritionist. and basically, everything I assumed was healthy was bad for me. The cereal I choose granola, guess what so much sugar in it I might as well been eating fruit loops. If you are trying to feed 5 mouths and make the dollar go as far as you can you can't afford the fruit alone and go right for your starches.

No that's not true. In America the skinny skinny people dont have alot of food in there house or dont want to eat. And that fat people have a lot of food to eat or its in the blood or in there inherited of being fat. Back in the day in the depression times, the fat people had a lot of money and the Native American people didn't have any money and which was skinny especially the immigrants. So you can't be really sure about that it's only about how your financial issues are. It does not matter what body type you are so don't be making suggestions that you don't know and please be 100% accurate.

Trixies Tube - Where do you live? Healthy food is not expensive. One just needs to know where to shop! I get my fruits and vegetables from a Farmers Market, a whole weeks worth for $25. And you don’t need a gym membership or personal trainer to lose weight (unnecessary luxuries). You can exercise outside for free. Go walking, jogging and running outside. Do your sit ups at home. One needs to be motivated and willing to change! Fast food is expensive. It cost almost $10 for a value meal at McDonalds.

When you have 4 kids plus two adults to feed it really doesn't go that far... this woman lost her job so she was clearly working and I'm guessing losing her job wasn't by choice but at the end of the day she still has babies to feed and THATS what foodstamps are there for, to help those who NEED it... like this family does! Unless you've been in this situation you have no idea how much it sucks and how much of a failure you feel like at times depending on the government to feed your family, it can he degrading especially for women when it's our job to take care of our kids and we feel like we're failing by not being able to provide like we want to.... this isn't a life style choice, its a means of survival.

Yeah but as a cashier and someone who has had food stamps I can tell you a majority of people spend their food stamps on junk which is why we need to take Doritos, candy, energy drinks, cakes, soda all of that off the list of things people should get. Cause if you’re really hungry and starving for good health and nutrition then you should be making your food from scratch . Buying flour in bulk, produce on sale , stuff like that and making sure your cupboards aren’t an open buffet if you’re family is really starving. Also there are a lot of community dinners, that people assume are just for homeless people but again they are community dinners. Also food banks always nearby and a lot will help in emergencies. Thirsty? Find a library they usually have fountains. If this was a 1930 depression people wouldn’t know how to handle themselves and that saddens me. I’ve watched how Americans shop on food stamps and then I’ve watched Indians(from India) and Hispanic buy food. Trust me when I say people who immigrate here know how to shop to maximize what they get cause they are doing it the right way. The food stamp is a trap when you think you can depend on it for the rest of your life. It’s only there to help temporarily. That’s why when you report your earnings they adjust how much food money they’ll give you. Personally I think they could do better on that figuring not everyone could save to move and feed their family at once maybe they should allow 2-3 months for earning more before they adjust it so it gives people a chance to get off the system better since nothing is being solved now. At the end of the day though there is no excuse for starving in America especially democrat cities where there are all these resources.

By God's grace my husband was able to pick up more work and pay the bills back that set us back...and by God's grace our daughter is also in a better place!! So not everyone abuses the system there are families who actually need the help!!

My older neighbor (bless her soul) helped me learn to cook with ingredients rather than processed EVERYTHING. It does take more time but you can cook in bulk and put some in the freezer for another meal later. I ended up NOT needing food stamps once i REALLY learned how to cook. Healthcare insurance is a necessity if you have medical problems in order to treat your medical problems and you’re required by law to have your own healthcare policy or your employer has to offer it to you and car insurance is a necessity if you need a car in order to drive to work as most states require you to carry at least liability insurance on a vehicle in order to operate it. Do you live in your Mom’s basement? Because you obviously have no real concept of what things cost and what’s required by law. You have to make everything from scratch. And you can't waste a single penny on snacks or chips, or prepared foods or soda. You drink lots of water, which is better for you anyway. You eat oatmeal for breakfast. And you eat tons of eggs, beans and rice. Fruit is always the cheapest that is in season. The truth is that people today DO NOT know what it means to make everything from scratch. They think that means hamburger helper or Marie C. Frozen entrees. You have to do mainly once-a-month shopping except for milk and bread. And you don't deviate from the plan, unless you get something free or next to free.

This woman loads ALL 4 of her children up on the public bus to go buy food. A lazy mother would leave the children at home unattended. I agree that she needs to find different ways to make the food last. But to just talk so negatively about her is really shameful. You are the problem with society. You'd rather kick someone when they are down rather than help them by pointing them in the right direction to go. God bless you.

My mom was married. With 4 kids when my dads drug habit developed and she became a single mom because she left. She worked everywhere you could think of. Roofing. She was a prison guard. Daycare worker. Restaurant. Then she got fibromyalgia and was confined to the bed for a year. The meds they gave her made it damn near impossible for her to care for all of us. Eventually my mom just worked through the pain. I hate seeing it. It’s not so black and white. Be mindful.

barley is cheaper and healthier than rice. Beans and oats are cheaper and healthier than cereal. Eggs, apples, frozen kale, canned tomatoes, canned tuna and salmon are cheap and fairly healthy When I'm broke I make crabby patties:
2 cans of salmon ($0.88 each)
1 can of crushed tomatoes ($1.00)
      half a chopped onion ($0.85)
      1 egg: $0.33
      leftover bread crumbs ($0.00)
a bit of grated cheese ($0.60)
      olive or peanut oil ($0.60)
      greens: ($3.00)
mix in bowl, and turn into patties, put on grill, cook for 5 minutes each side and put over bed of greens done. This feeds 4 people, for l$1.81 a serving (and I probably overestimated the costs.) For 8 people that would be $14.52 a meal. I can see how that adds up, but it has a lot more nutrition value than processed breakfast cereals and rice all the time and when one has 7 children, one has to expect a higher grocery bill.
I buy whole chickens, and I get 5 meals out of it, roast chicken potatoes and salad, chicken salad, a chicken stir fry, then take all the bones and skn and make bone broth, make chicken soup, and then make rissotto. $9 for a chicken, plus some greens, vegetables, noodles, rice etc, and you have some great meals for on the cheap. :) Let's say you have 3 chickens for 8 people.
      3 chickens- $27
      1 lb of potaotes: $4.00
3 heads of spinach: $7 (for salads)
5 chopped of tomatoes: $5 (for salads)
2 large bag of frozen vegetables for soup, stirfry, and risotto: $12
      spices: $2
2 packs noodles for soup and stirfry: $8
      salad dressing: $0.85
      rice: 2.00
That's $13.37 per meal to feed 8 people healthy balanced meals. That's not bad

You just simply belong to the lowest 10% according to wealth. If you don’t have a job, you get money from the government (about a 1000$ + 250$ per child, you get paid your rent as long as you try to get a new job or further education, education is free in general, food laws here are way stricter than in the US and therefore Food is also healthier. Being poor in America means you have to worry about food and rent, thats why they have welfare programs (also funded by tax payers). And what you described about getting free money is literally our unemployment system, except you also get taxed on it.

If you had definite evidence that someone from among your relatives stole property from another person I'm sure you would turn them it. This is the same thing. You're an idiot. Tax dollars go to her food, so yeah it is our business. If it was her own money then by all means by whatever you want. I'll name several items that are cheap and decently healthy in the right portion - rice, dried beans, bread, cabbage, onion, cilantro (it's legit cents), lettuce, and even carrots and celery are cheap. Babybel is not what she should buying, she should just buy a regular block of cheese and portion it out. She can use a block of cheese for so many other items too. Yogurt, specifically the one she was buying is like almost 1.50$. Go for the ones without the little toppings and you can pay just 50 cents. Bananas (I'm pretty sure I saw her grab plantains) are cheap too. Fruit and vegetables are seasonal and just watch local sales papers (watching local sales papers won't be useful in her case because she's commuting), but since she lost her job she might have time to use her phone to find coupons for those items. Ignorance is not an excuse. Until it's her own money, then yes. Once it's hers and it doesn't effect her kids she can go buy a bunch of drugs for all I care.

No, she deserves better from the powers that be who ship our jobs to foreign countries and hire illegals and she deserves better from the children's father or fathers seeing as how they helped her bring those children here. We the taxpayers don't owe her or her children anything. We do enough: we pay for WIC, housing, food stamps, child care, education, free/reduced lunches, after school programs, etc....what more do you think the taxpayers should be responsible for? People need an incentive to work. Give them a job that pays a livable wage and they will work. Why have the stress of working when your still miserable and can barely put food on the table. Who wouldn't rather stay home and have more free time. Education makes your goals more attainable and puts you closer to finding a better job. The system needs to be overhauled, are govt is for business we need to put the priority back on the people.

It's sad how quickly people are to judge. You can look at her and people like her and say "Stop having kids" or "Get a job" as if that's some magic fix all and blame these people for being irresponsible as a way of justifying their poverty as if it's a punishment for not being as good or as smart as everyone above them. They are people too, and they deserve the peace of mind to know that they can feed themselves and their families at the very least. Since when did being able to eat become a luxury?
This woman can't un-have her 4 children, so how does telling her to not have kids help her? What's done is done, and blaming her for "breeding" is ridiculously bigoted. The video also said she lost her job unexpectedly, which by the sound of it was a decent paying job that was capable of supporting her kids - she only got on food stamps when she lost the job. Are all victims of layoffs and sudden terminations screw ups and deserving of poverty and ridicule?
Our society has this toxic mindset of "Why should I help them?" and "Why should I pay them to do 'nothing'?" as if taking a small cut out of your paycheck is the same as being robbed at gunpoint. I don't know how to explain to people that they should care about others, because that's the real problem here. You SHOULD care about other people, and if you're capable of helping someone else you should - because really, a small fraction of your $1000+ paycheck to help another human being isn't too much to ask. Acting like you're above helping other people is selfish and greedy.

But like I said, she can't un-have the kid, and it's not like she can just drive up to the local orphanage and drop off all of her kids to solve all of her financial problems. You can rub it in her face all you want about "You shouldn't have had the other kid, you fuck up", but what does that accomplish other than showing her and others how totally lacking in empathy you are?
The argument that people use for people like her to just "Stop breeding" or as you stated "keep her legs closed" is really dehumanizing and bigoted. You can argue that people shouldn't have kids if they can't afford them, and yeah that's a smart and logical conclusion to come to, but as I also stated above, situations change. She lost her job. She WAS capable of taking care of her children without assistance before, but now she can't because of that. Losing a job can happen to anyone - is everyone who loses their job and just so happens to have kids that they suddenly cannot afford anymore without assistance just lazy, incompetent government handout whores?
Empathy and compassion are things our society really needs to relearn to feel. You can come up with thousands of arguments as to why you shouldn't help someone, and justify yourself for feeling above helping people who didn't have the same opportunities or luck as you did - It just goes to show how selfish you are if you do though.

Pure Sugar With A Pinch Of Diabetes I'm disgusted by your logic. There are decisions she should've made to convey to society that she made the best effort for her kids to avoid or mitigate this circumstance... and do better.
      - Education: her former job was a teacher's assistant so maybe at best a community college associate's, maybe a high school diploma, maybe a high school drop out. Education expands opportunity, but she can find a steady job. Postal/Parcel service worker, Rental car service, Bus driver, Waitress (at a good place), Customer service lines ... There are other things she can do to make an earnest living. She's just not trying or thinking wide enough to not find work. Even washing hair & sweeping the hair salon floor for cash & saving it for taking online courses is something at this point.
      - Marriage: you don't get pregnant without securing yourself first. Pregnancy costs money (maternity care; Calling out from work sick; Leaving work early to multiple OBGYN appointments a week, prenatal vitamins, nutrition, preterm bedrest, unpaid maternity leave, hospital bills for delivery, ICU bills for complications, postterm bedrest, specialty care for mom & baby) - who's holding things down, you know, housing, food, health insurance, & bills, while the mother is paying money & losing money just to risk her LIFE to give birth? Plus, if the marriage doesn't work out, it's harder for him to wash his hands & much easier to hold him accountable (for his bio & adopted kids), than having a child by someone not married to, even if common law living together.
      - It's clear that she has multiple babies' daddies. Get mad at thots like Draya & these reality tv stars, but did she bother to get pregnant by someone gainfully employed with a good income? That can pay a clinic to put her on birth control? That can send her a car for groceries?
      - She practically has us, our public tax dollars, to subsidize her being a stay-at-home mom. Again, that's should be a private subsidy provided by HER HUSBAND, HER MAN, OR A SUGAR DADDY. Has she even married at least one of her babies' fathers before?
Sure, she doesn't have hindsight - no human does - so it's unfair to hold her accountable for shitty men. However, it doesn't mean that she's part of causing her own problem. Society looks at a widowed mother much differently than a divorced mother of three, and much much more differently than a never-married mother of three. Except if you're black: society paints them all with one brush of assumption.
Single motherhood is for (not all are educated) white women with corporate jobs with benefits. Even the poor white mothers get sympathy and aren't blamed for the fathers - welfare was created for them & primarily widows. White society understands that men are expected to provide for the kids - it decreases welfare use & abortions. Public disdain for welfare is because the media keeps pushing minorities as the sole public face of welfare, even though the majority of welfare recipients are white.

I get it that some people need food stamp to get by but i think there should be restrictions on what you can get. It should only be for the essentials like bread, eggs, milk, fruits, vegetables...you get what i mean? Not for chips, soda, candies.

      Agreed
      Just like WIC
You get only a limited amount of specific items and once you run out you run out it’s not like free money

I agree. I used to work at a supermarket and there was some young people that would come in and buy soda and chips with food stamps. The soda had a deposit of 5 cents that the card didn't cover and he told me "Anyway You can help me? I don't have money, just my food stamps and it's the only way I pay for food." It got me kind of mad ,but I know WIC and food stamps helps out a lot of mothers who can't afford it.

Wic is worst then food stamps it’s very specific with what u can do and that stuff only last literally week and a half if even and u don’t get a lot of checks eat is easier but should be given to be used right they have more freedom with what they can get wic u can really only get next to nothing

@@jannelrosa7105 If you feel WIC is too restrictive, stop utilizing it and pay to feed yourself.
