I think, I will make another video detailing the circuit of the hack. Give me a few days. I do these on weekend or after work.. Thank you for your support.

Which wires actually power the inkbirds

Thank you for this. I've watched many videos on this type of hack but find yours easily the most well thought out. I'm just confused as to how the connections for your three introduced wires, the black, the green and the white are made. Does the black wire connect to wire 1 at the point where wire 1 connects to the ACs temperature controller, ie the top knob? Does your green wire connect to wire 2 where it connects to the ACs fan knob? Does the white wire connect to wire 3 (the ACs neutral) where it connects to the ACs compressor? Is it possible to have either a photograph or a drawing of these connections? Or are you bypassing the ACs controller by disconnecting wire 1 and wire 2 from the top knob and connecting the black and green wires to these ends of the wires that were just disconnected from the controller? Hope this all makes sense.

Black wire connects to top knob terminal which switches on the compressor after thermostat turns on. Green wire connects to the other end of thermostat which turns on when lower knob turns cooling on. You can coonect these wires while it is connected to the knob. White wires connects to the live side of heater, as the neutral wires from within AC connects to the other end of heater. How these wires are connected to external Inkbird controller is described in other video I have made. Thanx.

@@mohsinm644 I'm still confused. Are you disconnecting the wires from the AC thermostat and bypassing this thermostat altogether? Also I've watched the video for wiring the two new thermostats and the relay several times but which wires connect to which terminals on these components is unclear. Some diagrams showing clearly all new connections would make this project helpful to those of us who don't have your electrical background. It's clear that you setup is superior to any other video I've watched on this subject, but I think you may be assuming your viewers have more familiarity with the subject than they actually have. Your videos deserve more views and more support, which I'm sure you would get, if the step by step process was clear to even the most novice of us. I've made images of all the components if you want to use them to show what connects to what .

No I am not disconnecting the AC thermostat. Though if you want you can. As the AC thermostat will not be engaging at all. AC thermostat works on higher temp of around 15°C or beyond and this AC WILL BE RUNNING ON 2 - 3 °C. I am using the thermostat connectors to hookup my wires with ease and will not need any other connectors.

    I cool a 14lx12wx8h room fine with a 5200 btu manual a/c.

I thought those btu charts sounded excessive for such small rooms. But more btu the less the compressor has to run I guess to maintain temp. Less chance of freezing.
