    Thanks Iain! I needed a refresher to tighten up my spinners. I never really thought about which leg I lift first and that little wind up micro turn towards the beach you do right before you spin on some of these really seems to help your momentum.

    Hi Iain, my problem with forward spin is that i always lose momentum and end up digging the nose in the face of the wave or just stalling and getting behind the wave. I struggle a lot to start the rotation

    • @iaincampbell_
      @iaincampbell_  4 роки тому +41

      So don’t worry about the rotation. Remember the head movement and focus on trying to get your weight as centred as you can on the board. Once you find that part you will be able to do it bru 🤙🏼🤙🏼

      Whats the disengaging the rail part? Maybe this is my issue. I tend to dig in a rail and be far forward on my board before anything else. Does iniating the forward spin come before all that somehow?

    Thanks I will try it- I am a heavy tall guy that always have struggle with spinning maneuvers- I think what’s most difficult is to center my body on the board - I tend to move my weigh forward before the spin and it really slow me down- I will try to start the rotation first and then center my weight. It sounds so easy but seriously I’ve been bodyboarding for 35 year and it’s annoying not able to spin on a consistent basis. 😭 Thanks for the outside leg tip will definitely try it

    Hello again Iain !!
    Important question for me:
    How critical/important is to cross the legs when spinning ??
    I manage to spin right and left but I don’t find easy to cross the legs when doing it , i want to do the technique right. So how important is to actually cross the legs ?? 🤔 thanks in advance man what a privilege to been able to have a Sensei like you answering questions 😉🔝

    • @iaincampbell_
      @iaincampbell_  3 роки тому +1

      Haha. Hey man. It’s not critically important but when you do cross your legs you’re bringing your weight to the centre of the board. This helps for weight distribution and will help you to stay in a “ball” and spin faster. But if you can manage without doing that then it’s all good. As I have mentioned before. If you find something that works for you then keep doing it.

      What’s up Karl. So you should be riding a 42-43 inch board. I would say look to go more towards 43 just because of your height. That will allow you to move a lot easier and the extra foam will help you to float a lot better. I am 182cm and 76kgs and ride a 42 inch board. I love the extra foam to ride on but I think this will help you a lot.

    Am I the only one who doesn't enjoy forward spin, breaks immersion, kills energy, why would I do it instead of cutback or something?

      Probably one of the few. It often flows on the wave but all entitled to our own opinions.

    How do I not look like a kook in my first bodyboard competition. I want to do one, but man I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of these Hawaiians😂. I’m a decent rider( ride moderate pipeline days), but I don’t have any tricks or style.

      Just go and do it without worrying about the outcome. No expectations means no disappointment. Remember why you started bodyboarding, to have fun. Go enter the event and enjoy yourself.
