There is a ploy to discourage Africans to enter the mutual/ commercial banking industry. Yes. This has been demonstrated by the SA Reserve Bank frustrating the license of Nthabiseng Likotsi, YWBN, "Own your bank" and taking U-bank, a bank owned by miners and sell it to African Bank.

Could we start by addressing paying back the money that is owed to the most vulnerable in our society. The ones that we should be protecting, and then go on to address the more complex issues. Let’s get our priorities right, and I’m not suggesting that black owned banks are not important. I’m saying paying back your stolen grand parent’s s money could be a little easier than resolving historical problems.

Eff already admitted to receiving donation and there is nothing wrong with that, they didn't know the Bank was not run profitable. If I was running that Bank it was going to be profitable with the R5m donation to EFF. Management must take the blame not outsiders.

How can you get a loan from the bank without having an account with the bank...
People can and do get loans from banks without an account, it isn’t impossible. The bank has to know what assets the person has for collateral and of course, interest rates will be higher. It isn’t impossible.
