I've been reading bimmer forum after bimmer forum for weeks trying to diagnose whats causing all my codes to pop, trying to figure out what parts/projects are worth throwing the money at, and thank you Antonio!! My 328i is throwing a similar long list of codes 120408 130104 131501 and a half dozen misfire codes as well. No oil leaks though. Anyway, thanks for showing how you knocked them all out step by step and giving me a good idea on where to start!
As an owner of two BMW 528i (2008 and 2012), I always cleaned the VANOS first and never replaced any one, as resistance of only about 10% above the norm may not affect its performance (at 17.42). Also, at 22.54, the new VANOS should have been secured by the screw to firmly put in position.
unfortunately, these VANOS had to be replaced. yes, everything was secure before tuning in the car. it was a test that I was running to demonstrate this issue.
Hi I’m having issues with mine, So pretty much the car dies everytime starts the charge pipe make a suction and the car dies feels like something is clogged. I noticed that the boost pipe is deformed(orange pipe). I disconnected the map sensor right next to the throttle body and the car does not die but if I put it back the car dies. Feel likes the car needs that air to escape or something which is wrong idk if it’s a vacuum leak
Run a vacuum leak test first and see if you have any vacuum leaks. Remove the map sensor and check it sometimes they are full of oil and can not read right
