He represents a relatively obscure character from a side mario franchise, and if he's here, it means in theory that characters like ashley, captain syrup, poochy, E. Gadd or even rpg characters or obscure arcade title characters (Stanley gang here) have a shot at becoming a part of the game! Funky kong isn't great because of goofy ah monke. He is great because he is a symbol of hope in the dreaded times of mk8 rosters disasters. He reminds us that everyone can have a shot in this franchise, even a giant bee! This is why he is so loved, and he deserves it.

I love these polls, and the best thing is that no one was really toxic with the results. The Mario Kart community is truly one of the best community out there. Like the last time it was really fun voting throughout the weeks for our favorite characters to move on. Videos like this are really creative so I hope you do something like this again sometime
Out of all the characters, it's sorta poetic to end off on one of the OGs from the first Mario Kart game (also being one of the five main Mario characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, *Yoshi*, Toad). Yoshi was, and continues to be my main in Mario Kart.
This was such a fun tournament! I had a great time participating in this! I knew that Yoshi could win the tournament but I never knew that he was actually going to. So many unexpected twists and turns has happened from this whole tournament and I can’t wait for more!
It's great to see the results come out after watching the polls for so long! Everyone fought hard for their favourite characters but were mostly respectful of everyone else's votes, I'm glad all the characters got some love unlike in the stages votes where the first few had no comments about them. Well done everyone :)
(Spoilers if you haven't already seen it.) My wife (Princess Peach BTW) only got 34th, below Rosalina, Daisy, and even Pauline? Man, that stings... Also, people think Daisy's voice is annoying? What? Daisy's adorable! Also, I like Rosalina as much as the next guy, but I think she's really overrated. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though. At least Waluigi got top 5. He's my main in online races on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, considering my objective is to win, lol! But if Funky Kong gets added in the BCP (Which he probably will) I'm gonna switch to him. Congrats to Yoshi, btw. He may be far from my favorite, but he's a cute little sucker. YOSHI!! If it were up to me, my top 5 characters would probably be: 1. Peach 2. Daisy 3. Funky Kong 4. Roy 5. Waluigi (This is very subject to change, depending on how I'm feeling. Peach and Daisy will always be number 1 and 2, though.)

1:56 This is RIDICULOUS. Lakitu may already have a role in the Mario Kart series but Lakitu is a SPECIES. There can be multiple of them doing different things at the same time, just like koopas, dry-bones, shy guys, etc. What is that logic with the Mario Kart fanbase that Lakitu can’t be a driver because he exists as a character outside of races? Nintendo gave the playable Lakitu a different shell color, maybe to tell us that he is a species, well, and he IS. There’s no good reason to be against Lakitu as a driver
