- Hey guys. I hope you enjoy this quick run down of whether I think playing Endless Legend is still worth it in 2023.
Also to note, I did check afterwards and noted Civ 6 is 7 years old! I'm just getting older than I think, I still think this games graphics are still good enough for today.

Another aspect of this game that sets it apart from others is that the planet itself is very much alive. So in addition to the other AI empires, you will need to deal with significant weather events, native creatures, changing resources, and damaging terrain. It adds an extra dimension to the game. (Similar to Sid Myers Alpha Centauri (another oldie but goodie))
This review has just sold me on the game, I’m 25 yo & very late to this gem, can’t wait to dive in. Great review so thank you
You’re welcome, hope you enjoy it.
the game is great, enjoy!

lmao discovered this game too late (like a few days ago) after it was free 😭

@@Spaceghost12 Stay winning, Brother 💪
Again today
Free on steam until may 23rd 10am right now you can keep if after if you download it now
It's still one of the best 4X games. A classic at this point.
Headsup: Endless Legend is currently FREE on Steam :) Enjoy!
Ps. Great review!
Thank you and thanks for the info!!
I never really liked endless space I was always more of a Galciv or Total War player but I started playing Endless Legend as that Dragon people and I'm so hooked I love the minor faction mechanics
@@Spaceghost12 Very happy to hear you're enjoying it!
It is now FREE on Steam.
i played the last few hours and i just can recommend it its somehow really nice
This is a great intro video. Thanks for it. Have you ever thought of making more in-depth guides for the factions and deeper mechanics? Just curious. I just keep getting out-paced and losing my games.
I do occasionally try and dip into these type of videos but unfortunately I don't always have time. I do have a full playthrough series up which may hold some hints that'll help out.

Thank you! Will do.@@worlddragonmedia
it's free now on steam, and I'll try it. Thank for your in4 about this game
You are most welcome!
I found out about this game after trying Age of Wonders 4 and its quickly become my favorite! Do you have any suggestions for games similar to EL? ES2 is good fun, but doesn't scratch the same itch
I'm afraid I'm not sure of any others. You of course have your Civ's etc but they're not quite the same for me, I stumbled upon this because of my past love for ES and ES2.
I’d just go back to AOW shadow magic
there is Warlock II: The Exiled but its not as good i got it cheap and played it for a bit. also Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes once again got it cheap on sale and enjoyed got like 100 hours out of it. And of course age of wonders 3 which i think is much better than 4. Civ beyond earth is a scifi themed one and pax nova has both planet and space stuff in it not anywhere near as good but it is interesting to have multiple planets to play on. Driftland: The Magic Revival has gotten alot better although thats moving into real time, same with the new dune game. Songs of conquest is really well made and its going to be done with early access this year. Prob last i can think of is their newer game humankind its def not without issues and some fundamental flaws imo but it can be fun epically if u get it on a deep sale
Thanks, I'll check a few of these out.
Still very good game. U may try a challenge to win by all available nations. Not easy task)
Alse, advantage - many game mechanics: market, hero, diplo, quests, resources....
It’s a very well rounded game that has aged well.
How this game compares to Endless Space 2?
Honestly I havent played any of Amplitude games, or any CIV/4X for that matter. Since I like fantasy and thought it was a good idea to start here.
Thanks for the video
You're welcome!
It's been a while since I played but from what I remember the basics are pretty similar in terms of resources, diplomacy, heroes and building with a few minor alterations. A big change map wise is being set in space ES2 has travel through 'star lanes' so you have to go from system to system and it's easier to set up choke points against enemy advancement. Tech wheel is one big wheel instead of being unlocked in stages, with fights you set a general order and then the whole fight plays out, no rounds involved with separate orders and system use is determined by planet type. If you watch my Drakken playthrough you'll notice I mention thinking ice is good for research and lava industry, that's how it is in ES2.
If you're looking to buy it check cd key websites, you'll find the base game for next to nothing.
They are entirely different. It's a much faster pace, you don't waste hours just waiting for something to happen, the combat is better too.
Fewer things to micromanage, your brain doesn't burn of exhaustion. Also, this game does not have unnecessary mechanics like hacking.
The factions are very interesting too, you kind of feel attached to them.
It's hard to explain, but the overall feeling is better. This is the best 4X game by far.
The only problem this game has, is the AI not very smart once master the game, it applies to every amplitude game, unfortunately. But if you have 1 or 2 friends to play with, it's not a problem at all =]
I think EL has way better combat, in EL, I always micromanage the combat myself because there is actually something to do, in ES2, I always just skip the whole fighting cinematic because it's pretty uninteresting.
Very much personal preference, but I prefer the factions in ES2. They're less balanced, but are more unique. They radiate more personality and tend to have something that makes them play vastly different from other factions. Endless Legends has yet to give me that same feeling.
ES2 has a little less micro management compared to EL, which is a big plus in my eyes.
best strategy games ever
They are brilliant.
Im playing a fallen lords run. I got stuck on an island it seems. Oh well. Navy time. I bought directly from the developers website. Got base game and the dlc for 29.99$ i believe. Steam wanted like 70$ or more
Yea always shop around, never solely rely on steam.
Thanks for that... 👍🙂
You’re most welcome.
Good video
Thank you
i love that game (and endless space 2 too) but idk why i cannot play it, too hard ? too complex ? idk but i want
too boring
maybe lol @@alucard4974
cool note, it is free right now
Oh boy do i love games where i can make empires
This game is amazing i have hundreds of hours.
Tu ainda joga Endless Legend? Queria achar um grupo pra jogar junto, mas é bem raro encontrar players. Ainda não cheguei a 100 horas de jogo.
Inmense
can i play Endless Legend completely with gamepad, without ever touching mouse/keyboard?
I'm afraid I was full mouse/keyboard so I'm not an expert on this, I believe like most things it is possible but it's not going to be as simple as plug and play, you would have to do workarounds.
YT deceived me by showing the title of this video in my language. 😂
Haha I can only apologise on behalf of YT and it's heinous deception, but I hope you enjoyed the video anyway.
It was free on Steam so I thought why not?
Definitely worth it for free, it's a fun game.
Can you control the camera from the keyboard?
Had to reinstall the game to check but yes, full keyboard controls, and of course customizable to suit.
No mention of the bad controls of units in battle?
I didn’t mind the controls too much, it’s an interesting style which wasn’t loved enough to continue to be used I agree. Maybe as I’m used to the bare bones combat of Endless Space, but you have a valid point, the combat definitely won’t be for everyone.
I just used auto battle because it was so bad
Hi, works on Mac M1?
Hey, apologies but I'm not too sure as I'm not a Mac user. As it's from 2014 I would think so but I'd double check the minimum specs on say Steam before you buy.
"G2A.....fully above board..." My God, man, I almost went out like Mama Cass, choking on my lunch.
What fantasy world are you living in ? How much are they paying you ?? Any keyshop but them....
Screw all keyshops
Scummy plug for g2a
*skims through* seeing a still frame of 2:42 tells me everything I need to know. Tile yields should NOT be displayed as numerals. I got a first in my economics minor and giving this game a go over a free weekend gave me a headache. Uninstalled it. Shame.
Wtf are you talking about it displays tile yields like every other 4x game
@@zacharybecker8228 I don’t care how many 4X games display yields only as numerals, they are all wrong.
