Guvenoren sent me after seeing me blunder around sadly and then having no luck with other tutorials that were more lost then I was LOL, and I am glad he did. You really know your craft. Definitely worth a sub and some likes.
Thanks a bunch, i'v been trying to get into EL, since i massively enjoy 4x games, but never having played ES before i felt quite strandet. Very helpful video!
In the topic of luxury resources, it might be a good idea to invest into improved search skill (first skill on "common" branch) on your first hero (in case it's skills are more Army-oriented, otherwise consider reassigning it as a governor) and take some time to search ruins, if you're lucky you might either get luxury resources or a quest, if you're unlucky you might get a pounding on your head. By the way, you can access the upper left bar by pressing F1-F8, which will in turn open the respective menus from left to right, while F9 takes you directly to the Global Scores screen. F10 hides the HUD.
Thank you very much for these tips. I'm considering buying this game. I had a pretty hard time getting in to endless space although i really like this genre. Your kind of youtube video's really drag me over the line to buy it and give it a chance.
Stefan Onderdelinden Glad to hear! I'd say play a normal game without expansions before you start adding those, with a pretty 'standard race'. Dust lords, vaulter or Drakken I'd say.
Stefan Onderdelinden bro. Buy it. I bought it on humble bundle with some of the dlc, and bought the rest on steam. Its very fun, and when you load up the game for the first time you know its great
yesyes thank you. I bought it the day after my first post here. I have about 3 game saves on like turn 175 and no clue what is the best decision in many things, and I love it. A little 'try and error' will be the next phase I guess. There is a lot of stuff you can take into account in every turn. I'm not that good yet but I'm a fast learner in general :) I can beat easy mode now.
Glad you're enjoying it. To be honest I never really play on the high difficulties. I like playing Endless Legend due to the different stories each race has. I like to understand all the mechanics as well, but that doesn't mean I'm good at applying them ^^
i was going to build the Mueseum of Auriga and there were 5 turns left till it was finished. i had the option to speed it up with dust, but i decided not to. 2 turns later i get the message that it has been build elsewhere and that my rescources will be refunded. i was sitting and crying for 5 minutes
Great video! Just bought the complete Endless legend collection on Steam. I am a novice with strategy games, but I really want to get into this genre. Also, the art was one of the biggest reasons for my interest and subsequent purchase. Can't wait to begin playing!
After debating - to buy or not to by, this great review of "How to", the + - points, & practical tactics - I guess I add to the game library. Articulate & well-spoken - GREAT commentation. Please consider me subscribed, sir.
Very informative and wel edited. I bought this game over a year ago and it never got traction with me. I was hoping to try it again and this helps a lot.
One of the very first improvements I make in any city is a sewer system, since it basically negates all the early negatives of expansion by giving a pretty sizeable happiness bonus
Thanks for the quick tips. I'm surprised settling on your first move is so important as that tile area far to the west seemed to have such a higher resource pool. I would have went straight there.
+Aaron Doherty Good point! It's definitely a nice place to settle. I guess I didn't give it enough consideration. The amount of river tiles where I settled are kind of great for gold income, but not sure if that's better than the area you're referring to! Cheers! :)
As someone with some decent 4X experience (CIV 4/5/6, Beyond Earth, and Humankind) I found Endless Legend to be way too overly complicated and requiring too much micromanagement to be fun, as the AI, in its machine glory, could always interact with all the different systems (quests, giant monsters, native villages, empire plan, workers, etc.) perfectly. EDIT: Like how the fuck was I supposed to know settlers denied me all food production!?
About to get this game because it looks wonderful. About those extractors though - once you extract a luxury resource does the tile disappear, or is the resource renewable?
Mr Gulwons I'll see what I can do! I'm currently not at home on my gaming pc for a couple of weeks (fieldwork) so can't record, but I'll make a plan for when I'm back! :) Thanks for the feedback!
Well i've played many Civilization games since Civilization 2 but newest Civilization... On the other hand i've always wanted to start playing x4 sci fi Strategies... :)
To me Endless Space feels a bit more like civilization than Endless Legend does, but I can't explain exactly why (at least not yet, have to think about it :) )
Thanks dude this was really helpful, but how do I Increase approval rating if I make an entirely new city too soon? Do I just wait it out or is there a way to speed up the process?
What I personally don't understand is how the AI is always faster than me XD I build and research the crap out of it but I am still the last one till the first Faction dies.
+nuncet I'm not 100%, but you might mean quest-markers. Sometimes a quest says e.g. 'go there with a hero and at least two level 3 units'. Then you have to right click it with said group and interact with it :)
Got a new job and had to move country. Furthermore I live in the middle of nowhere in Afrika a couple of months a year without much internet to speak of. So currently it's pretty hard to game let alone make movies unfortunately!
I have Wasurenagumo - Li'l Spider Girl - OVA on my right propossal videos....I watched it....That End though...now I feel confused wondering what could happened and why.
Not a fan of the many design ideeas/choices.I want a simpler interface,it is way too cumbersome with too many menus and too many things to think about for each choice.I want the deep robust area of the design to focus on individual troops.I want to be able to explore and hire troops and or workers and then set those workers to do things. Not a fan of a deep system involved around happy or unhappy citizens,to me that is unnecessary and boring.More focus on combat and types of enemies than city planning which is basically just behind the scene stats/numbers that don't make anything fun or even interesting.
trying to get into this game, coming from CIV 5. the art syle is fantastic
Yep, the artstyle and overall atmosphere keeps drawing me back to this game.
Exactly the same happened to me lol
lol bashfish xD
Yup. I'm also here from Civ V. Maybe I should have started with Endless Space, but this style is so cool.
get out of here slardar
Thanks for these, especially the borough's surround bonus and the rising cost of research, both of which I never noticed!
+Corey Bullard Glad you liked it and found it useful!
Wouldn't it be nice if the game told this to you at some point. Thanks for the tips friend.
Well, apart from the burrough street upgrade thing pretty much everything gets at least a mention in the tutorial. Still a very helpful video though
Trying this as my first 4X ever. Still find kind of difficult all the numbers and general mechanics but these tips sure helped me, thanks!
Guvenoren sent me after seeing me blunder around sadly and then having no luck with other tutorials that were more lost then I was LOL, and I am glad he did. You really know your craft. Definitely worth a sub and some likes.
anyone still playing it? i just got it and im loving it

Just got into it and 4x games after playing 100 hours of humankind
Thanks a bunch, i'v been trying to get into EL, since i massively enjoy 4x games, but never having played ES before i felt quite strandet. Very helpful video!
Awesome tips. Helped me more than much much longer videos.
Steven Manning Awesome, glad you liked it :)
This is my favorite 4x ever. It is amazing. Thanks for the excellent tips!
+Trent Hogan It really is awesome. So atmospheric. And new expansion coming soon!

Thank you so much for these tips. Had no idea about Burroughs
I just played a full game without knowing about the surrounding level bonus. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Thanks! I was having so much trouble understanding how to level up my city centre, and it's one of the Wild Walkers' quests! XD
Great tips. I tried the game this weekend for free and it's a shame most of this tips don't apear in the tutorial. Thanks a lot.
Very informative and wel edited.

Thank you very much! Dig the short and sweet presentation.

Thanks! Had no clue about how to level up your city with borough streets
Nice and straight to the point.
+Christine Stark Thanks! Happy you liked it! :)
Thank you for your the pointers. They helped my game play immensely.
Thank you for the tips! This is a fantastic video! Helped a ton!

8 years mater, still usefull !

Such a great video thank you.
thank you for the video, used your tips to win my first game
About to get this game because it looks wonderful. About those extractors though - once you extract a luxury resource does the tile disappear, or is the resource renewable?
It keeps being there forever! :)
Your tips were most helpful :) thks alot
thanks for the video, it helped alot!
Nice video dude, next one about races :)
Mr Gulwons Like a guide on how to play them, or just an overview of their special rules? Thanks for the comment! :)
Waervyn's World I think overview could be better, with maybe few tips for each faction about their pros and cons :) best regards dude.
Mr Gulwons I'll see what I can do! I'm currently not at home on my gaming pc for a couple of weeks (fieldwork) so can't record, but I'll make a plan for when I'm back! :) Thanks for the feedback!
Very informative, thank you
Glad it was useful!
Thanks for the info! Do I hear a dutch accent behind the english?

+George Gordon You're most welcome! If you'd like to see videos on specific things don't hesitate to let me know! :)
They remove all your food rescources. Me: Laughs in Gost warriors
So i wonder should i buy it or is it better to buy Endless Space 2 ?
Btw. for me it looks more like Civilization than newest Civilization lol ^^
Oef, no idea! They play fairly different yet feel similar. Without knowing what you like it's hard to say.
Well i've played many Civilization games since Civilization 2 but newest Civilization... On the other hand i've always wanted to start playing x4 sci fi Strategies... :)

+Fabrezz Build/buy happiness buildings, such as the sewer system
+Fabrezz you can use luxury goods like gold or wine
nice job, good tips
MrRandyN Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)
I have a question: what dlc add new techs in 5 Era?
i kinda like the game, yet at the same time i feel like im not doing anything. Some turns i just click pass, since i feel like i cant do anything.
Is there anything you have for specific factions? Or does the faction not play a significant role in how you play?
Excellent thanks, happiness was making me sad.
+razorback0z Haha, yes! Damn needy citizens! Glad you liked the video!
This helps me a lot
Thank you
What I personally don't understand is how the AI is always faster than me XD I build and research the crap out of it but I am still the last one till the first Faction dies.
so useful! thank you

im curious about these golden shiny places. how can i interact with em?
+nuncet I'm not 100%, but you might mean quest-markers. Sometimes a quest says e.g. 'go there with a hero and at least two level 3 units'. Then you have to right click it with said group and interact with it :)
thank you.
Germany? Right?
Thanks!
thank you
2019 where you at?
Got a new job and had to move country. Furthermore I live in the middle of nowhere in Afrika a couple of months a year without much internet to speak of. So currently it's pretty hard to game let alone make movies unfortunately!
Thank you so much! *internet fist bump*
First time in the game.. already 'reaking the hostile empires xD
are you from Norway?
Nope!
2 more guesses! :)
NL
Quebec ?
Germany
sweden
just a quick question, where are you from?
+Darroc3 Originally I'm from the Netherlands :)
+Waervyn's World I fking new it, same here and I could notice it by your accent. Anyway thanks for the vid and the answer.
Darroc3 Haha. Yes, even though I haven't lived in NL for the last 8 years it's hard to get rid of an accent ^^
The in- game tutorial's 1 hour long and counting.
the boro streets thing sounds complicated.
I have Wasurenagumo - Li'l Spider Girl - OVA on my right propossal videos....I watched it....That End though...now I feel confused wondering what could happened and why.
how similar is this game to civ 5? it looks fun, but if its just a rehash i don't want to waste my money.
It is quite different but looks similar.
Good tips, thanks alot for that. Just bought the game yesterday and the tutorial wasn't that helpfull.
Easy to learn, hard to master.
