now we're getting serious.
I love Animals As Leaders! They are one of my all time favourite bands. I even listen to them while gardening. What a great band.
They are so good!
Prepare to be amazed by the musicianship of this band. Unbelievable talent and Matt Garska on drums.
Try the band: Protest the Hero. Song: “Bloodmeat”
Only better than listening to animals as leaders....is watching some one who gets to listen to them the first time...we can relive are own shock and awe moment!
Their guitarist Tosin Abashi is the man. True master of the craft of guitar. Hell, all the members have insane skill
This song is underappreciated in my mind! Lovely, lovely tune.
Tosin Abasi is a guitar phenom
53-year-old metal head here. Animals As Leaders, Meshugga, Jinjer…they’ve made me fall in love with both metal and just music in general again.
More of their bangers please. I personally love CAFO and The Price Of Everything.
Here's one for the GYM. DROWNING POOL - BODIES!
Yeah it is bro heard this one years ago such a BANGER!
About freaking time I've been telling you about this song for months. I knew you would love it and I'm glad you enjoy it!
Glad I FINALLY got to it haha appreciate the recommendation my friend!
This is their best album, imo. Tooth & Claw, Woven Web, Physical Education, Ka$cade, Mind-spun. Just banger after fucking banger.
Also, i got a great rec for ya- Kai Tangata by the band Alien Weaponry.
Young metal band from new zeland sang in the Maori language. Great shit!
Meshuggah and Animals And Leaders are the reasons I got an 8 string guitar a few years ago. Such innovative bands. 🤘
Instrumental music! High end stuff for high end coffee.
Try Marty Friedman - Whiteworm, or Self Pollution.
Jason Richardson - Sparrow
Hizaki - Russalka (I think thats the right spelling)
And get into Jeff Loomis and Tony Macalpine too.
So much good stuff.
Light, heavy, technical, everything.
I love seeing people discover this band, I saw them live in Nijmegen a couple of weeks ago, was the best preformance ever dude!
SO glad you finally got around to these guys. Absolutely batshit incredible live.
Welcome to the wonderful wonderful world progressive Djent. Tosin Abasi is a mad mad genius. love it Sev.
JESUS CHRIST what a band!!!!
You truly need to watch them perform live to appreciate what they are able to do.
Yeah theyre a trance.
😂The look on your face at the beginning was like " is it safe to drink coffee and listen to this at the same time? i might get over hyped" .......F#$@ it proceed to drink coffee priceless
Key info for those who don't know: This band is 2 8 string guitarists and a drummer, no bass... Incredible!
absolute banger, pure musicality
Another great reaction 🤘🏽, first time I listen them it was live. Can you imagine how cool was that 🤩
loved this album to this day, bought this album when i came out and still return to it for a jam
If you loved this song, there is also « cafo » from Animals As Leaders, it’s rly choppyyyy. You should take a look
You gotta check out their live performances! I recommend their Dunlop sessions
They are a three person band. Tosin on lead is insane, Matt is an incredibly mind blowing drummer, and Javier is the other guitarist who is just as impressive as Tosin. Javier has his own instrumental side project called Mestis you should check out. He really plays with the ambience that you find in AAL.
Hell yeah, Animals as Leaders are amazing! I just saw them live with Devin Townsend and Dream Theater…holy shit what a show…
That is an insane group of talented musicians, holy...
@@wojecire yeah, it was amazing!
Animals as Leaders is the modern incarnation of prog.
The 2 guitarists have a jazz fusion side band called T.R.A.M who are equally amazing
TRAM is crazy good. Javier also has his side project Mestis which is also crazy good.
I've seen this band twice in concert. The first time, they opened for Between The Buried And Me, and I'd never heard of them before. My mind was blown, been a fan ever since. Best metal performance I've seen, hands down.
I knew it ! I knew it ! I was sure this band will just slap you in the face.
Thanks for making me laugh again with this one, dude !
For the next step, I'll suggest "CAFO" for the early choppy days or "Monomyth" from the even more choppy recent ones. The video of "Monomyth" is just amazing too.
Peace !
So we're inventing new words to describe music. That's how you know it's good 🤘
Tosin is a guitar god and Matt Garska is otherworldly on the drums.
Don't forget Javier! He's just as impressive as Matt and Tosin.
Anything Metal that pushes me to a broader understanding tends to intimidate me the first few times. Now, years later, I'm comfortable with this band's sound. Pantera and Meshuggah were both like that for me initially.
“Like…TODAY” LOL
For more instrumental sweetness, give these bands a try...
Polyphia: GOAT, Playing God, Ego Death
Soften the Glare: March of the Cephalopods
Chon
Ill def listen to those
Amazing band. Probably the best instrumental band of all time.
You have to listen to those 2 albums: The Joy Of Motion (Tooth And Claw in there) and my fav by them: The Madness Of Many
Haha I see you've found the masters of polyrhythms. Trying to follow the time signatures is like audible calculus, but it makes my brain happy. Another good one by them is "Physical Education" if you want one with a music video.
Honestly this entire album is amazing, if you're gonna check out more animals as leaders you gotta listen to physical education, its their anthem
Dude, please check out their latest album. All of their albums are amazing imo. I've been listening to them since 2010.
How'd I miss this?
This is Fire 🔥🔥🔥🤟😎
I love this band. I especially love CAFO and Red Miso. Sort of like the Dimash of instrumentals. Tosin and Matt really rock🥰🥰🇨🇦
These guys are so complex and technical yet they write catchy, listenable heavy progressive metal, and no vocals because there's already enough going on and it's great because vocals sometimes get tiresome, the music just takes you wherever your mind wants to wander, brilliant band and great live.
I coudnt ever imagine a vocalist or vocals fit for this music
yes they stand out so much from other virtuosos by the fact the complexity seems organic like the geometrical complexities in nature such as flowers and trees rivers valley things like that that seem simple but it sure isn't
I don't find it hard to believe. Lol you have to have heard of them. Guitarist tosin abasi is a legend already and he is only 30 something. I'd recommend polyphia ego death if you're interested in how deep this rabbit hole goes.😅❤
These guys are full of amazing material. You would likely enjoy the rest if you liked this one.
Spite, Dedication to flesh
This is gold.
PS: "No vocals" 😂
💪🏻🤘🏻
Do Plini
Try something off the new Meshuggah album "Kaleidoscope", "Ligature Marks" or "Phantoms"
Try Mr bungle - love is a fist
Vitalism is pagan is my recommendation for metal if thats what your into polyphia is mathrock/ prog groove.
If you like Pink Floyd this much already you have to listen to Time
This one just plain rips ass
Too many choppy chops lol
Couldn't keep up with the Chopps haha!
@@sevsimo lol. Try the band Mr Bungle - sudden death
Never heard of this band. They sound heavily influenced by Dream Theatre
The shits good when you start to air drum
