Awesome tractor! I run a 8370 pretty much every day. Would love to try one of these on tracks. Happy Thanksgiving! God bless!
Massively impressive video. The best instructional video about Strip-till and controlled farming on UA-cam yet. this video should be shown in all schools and ag. colleges. Michael is to be commended on his professional operation. The even emergence and weed control achieved shows they totally nail this .And yes the equipment is very cool as well
Sweet Sweet tractor john deere is the absolute best
This video should be shown at agricultural colleges to young farming students.
"control traffic pattern" is a term I was unaware of.
Outstanding video BTP..... 👍👍
Thank you for watching. I like trying to fill in the extra details on why certain machines are used.
Amazing technology and use of land. I was born about 50 years to early! 😏
That farmer mikah is awesome I’d love to see a year on that farm
Good grief , what a great video.Very Green (Deere) huge farm here.must have thousands of acres . Amazing how the drill next spring can put those seeds in the exact slot with auto steer , what amazing technology these days. To think how long it took to plow like 30 years ago the fields Thanks again for all you do to keep us informed. 😀👍🏾🚜🚜🚜 Non Farmer George
This is a very good video, showing and explaining most of what tilling and planting a field entails. The one thing I would like to see that is missing in your videos is how the ends of the rows are tilled and planted, by the controlled traffic farming method.
How is the field finished off so to speak without double planting and fertilizing on the ends, yet making sure the maximum field is used for crop production.
Thanks, JIM
Happy thanksgiving, one of the many things we are thankfull for is your channel.Appreciate the time and effort you put in to bring us farming from a different region.
Thank you. I am thankful for the farm’s and fans I have gotten to know. Looking forward to seeing what 2020 has in store.
Cool machinery and smart farming there 🙂
Really do love your videos. Really explain things well. Good work.
Thank you for watching. I enjoy filming and sharing these great machines.
I like this John Deere R series tractor. The road transport sticker must not be on the side window. Rather be before the outlet stack.
Awesome tractor thanks Jason for another great video 🚜👍🦃
😁🦃👍
Now that is a Deere I would like to own soon 🤞
It is an impressive tractor.
Great video!
Thank you for watching.
Awesome Video!!
Have a very happy thanksgiving
Great Video, as usual, I like it when you ride with the farmer and interview them. Mikah was a great interviewee he really explained things nicely. Where are they in Western Ky. and what is the farm name?
Another great video! Always educational and talking about the how and why they do strip tillage really got me hooked. Thank you as always.
Thank you for watching. It is an interesting process.
@@bigtractorpower - I stopped by Hutson's this past Monday on the off chance that 8RX was there. Hope to see you at the farm show in Louisville.
I am pretty sure the way that guy was talking about that tractor they’re going to buy one or two of those they just seem to make a lot of sense but one thing I didn’t notice about it I’m surprised John Deere didn’t do anything is they have the engine open and exposed I want if there’s an option to put those covers on it so does get all muddy
bonjour. belle video comme d'abitude.tres joli tracteur.pierre france. congratulations
That is a tractor. Great video. The framer on his game
I'd be interested to see that field when the cover crop emerges.
I have mixed reservations about this new tractor by JD. Mostly, why? I love farming technology and the industry must adapt, move forward etc, but this tractor is rubbing me the wrong way. lol. JD already has the 9620RX for example. Okay, maybe that is a larger tractor. More expensive, but essentially it does exactly the same work. Tracked tractors are amazing. The technologies incorporated in them, as far as, the tracks, wheels and bogies and suspension is nothing less then amazing. The foot print being very low and the ability to traverse multiple terrain features being a major selling point.
However, these tracked tractors do have a down side. They're extremely labor intensive to work on. Those tracked systems, normally occupied by wheels and tires can get very costly to repair. Something, many farmers are innately aware of. The idea of a more or less traditional tractor being set up as an all tracked tractor vs wheeled tractor seems a bit of over kill in my opinion. I love the 9000 series tracked tractors. I feel they do serve a purpose. With the smaller tractors incorporating tracks all around, why not just go all the way and purchase an articulated 9000 series tracked tractor?

The 9RX is a good tillage machine. This 8RX has allot of potential for a farm like the one in the video that wants a lighter tractor for tillage, planting and side dressing. The 9620RX can. It side dress and the 9520RX can side dress but it is a bit heavy for the job.
@@bigtractorpower Agreed, and thank you for the excellent videos. Truly amazing and very educational.🌾🌕
Very nice operation!
Thank you for watching.
Adrian Chetwynd
These tractors look like a good concept to me, because less tear up when
turning and less ground pressure on the front end of the tracks as is
the case with the front end heavy two track tractors
The RT's are best with mounted implements and not trailed implements.
Great video! Awesome tractor! Thanks for sharing!
Happy turkey day Jason
Happy Thanksgiving.
Very interesting. Thank you!
Great video ! Happy Thanksgiving Jason and family, hope you had too much too eat and a good nap after, lol !
Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving.
I defnitely like that new style hood, very nice
I'm sitting watching your video I luv them .
Thank you for watching.
Its amazing at how many computers are put in a tractor now days
My '19 powerstroke has 7 I'm told.
@@jrod264winmag really reaching for an excuse to talk about your truck huh?
@@jfdb59 Really? That's what you got from that? You got issues.
@@jrod264winmag nah. You know I'm right.
@@jfdb59 I see you all over the UA-cam threads trolling people.
Nice tractor ,does a great job it looks like
Thats a nice OPP!
7:07 forgot your tissues lol
wow a new interesting way of farming for a german farmerboy. :) I have a question or two: Do they spray the crops/put down fertizilier or do they just put down NH3 and use GMO crops?
once again great video but if they ever had to farm in muddy conditions that would throw all that out the window; most people even know that the grain cart and tractor do not follow the same track pattern and if they ever had muddy conditions then the ruts alone would change all that
We have a pretty production model we are testing agains t our 370rt. 18 ft offset wishek disk all the way in the ground 0-3 percent slip compared to 3-6 percent on the rt
I think the 8RX will replace 8RTs here in WKY. I hope to see an RT to film soon.
We are in south East Washington. It was definitely interesting and fun to drive. It turns really well better than a wheel machine but not as jumpy as the rt
Could you do a video explaining the sounds of the auto steering of JD? Another question is this model does not have Itec Pro? Does The operator should take Control each turning point?
Does the grain buggy run in the controlled traffic tracks when unloading on the go?
No the grain cart runs along side the combine off the grid. As soon as it finishes it jumps back to the grid. They pick certain path ways to keep the cart on for so many rounds to limit the heavy traffic to a center point as mush as possible.
Michael Horsch visited our farm shop one day several years ago with our local Horsch dealer and shared how he does controlled traffic in western Germany/eastern Czech Republic. They actually extended the unload augers on their combines to allow the cart to run on 40ft. path centers.
Would love to drive one of those, currently operate a 7810 to disc and cultivate.. also has starfire 6000 👍👍
Drucz
Shes some beast of a jd you cant beat a jd and notting runs like a deere and if shes not a johndeere shes a deere john but those tracks are nice it better too have tracks cos you have more traction for heavy tillage work and it saves alot of time aswell
That's the longest run-on sentence I have ever seen!
Just curious would the 8rx come with TLS suspension as an option or do you think it's not really needed, great videos Jason keep up the great work 👍
Darren Kayes John Deere doesn’t offer front suspension with the tracks
Love the stream that's cool that it is all in the same place but how does that work if your field is not square like fields with lots of curves and how does it work on end caps thank you sir
GPS really allows the system to work anywhere. This farm’s fields have sink holes and water ways. The GPS will guide the tractor in a circle around a sink hole. I will show that tech next spring during planting.
That big tractor needs a 9 bottom subsoiler hooked to it
I apologize if this has been asked. Will the farmer be able to change the tracks easily as their needs change? You mentioned using 24 inch tracks for one need and 18 inch for another need. I could see changing track width based on the task and field conditions. And is the track spacing (distance between tracks) going to be adjustable by the farmer?
Switching track sizes is a bit of a job. This farm if they go to 8RX tractors would most likely just go with 18 inch tracks. I was just giving an example of what 18s and 24s are best suited for.
A good tractor but I always believe in the usual tractor tires. I feel that they pull better.
Nice !!
Thank you for watching.
Does this controlled traffic pattern really help yields? I realize GPS is used to guide everything, it would have to be utilized in this situation. And does the rye really help the yields also.
I think the control traffic areas would help on a farm with large equipment , and yes Rye is a great cover crop. I like to call Rye a scavenger of a cover crop because Rye has a deep root mass and pulls a lot of nutrients to the surface where your crop can use it. you just have to be careful on the time you kill the Rye cause it can get away from you and get too big.
Happy Thanksgiving to u ur family nd friends
Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving.
That guy is smart 🤯
Wow omg
I get the concept but the (assuming here) additional cost of the 4track over the twin track just for the few areas of real difference is hard to pencil out. I'd be very keen to know if the farmer has tested to see what the yield difference is in the track v's the rest of the 40ft, see if it's worth the extra investment. (it must do if he's this invested in it i guess)
In a way very similar to a Caseih Magnum rowtrac. It least that doesn thave 4 tracks to mess around with
I would like to film a RowTrac Magnum.
Big tractor power John Deere rolling baskets
Do they plant beans on 15s or 30s? Looked like the planter had interplants for 15" beans
This farm plants 15 inch double crop soybeans.
i cant see strip till working you are only working a very small amount of the ground and when the roots get to the ground not worked it is like hitting a brick wall and stunt the crop but that is just my thoughts on it if this is being used this much i bet i am not seeing the big pic of it
Corn does not have that big of root ball. The strips are plenty wide enough to accommodate the root ball.
When and how do they harvest the Rye cover crop?
Blu-Jet by Thurston Mfg (ok, Unverferth now) from the booming metropolis of...Thurston, NE.
Boa tarde
It seems like a good idea but it just isn't a cost effective concept, you have a 65/35 weight distribution on a four wheel drive tractor and the footprint on the front (35% of the tractors weight) isn't big enough to justify the price of tracks. Just saying, good idea but there's a reason why case hasn't released one...
Uh...huh because your an agricultural engineer. Please explain why it's not "cost effective" since no one knows the price at this point. I know, you simply another Internet keyboard expert. BTW - it's not up to you what constitutes cost effective - that's a personal decision.
All large MFWD tractors have a similar weight distribution. If you can reduce compaction all around and still keep the turning capabilities of tires. And eliminate the burming effect that is associated with 2 track machines. Unless the price difference is that great I would bet it might start outselling the 2track RT model
Blackcat83 indeed, it just happens that weight distribution is 65/35 were you are getting a small amount out of front tracks, John deer would have a better chance of eliminating Burns and buildups of rt tractors by doing a similar design as case oh with the mx model. And yes if there is one thing they have going for them it is the turning capability, I got the chance to run one and I was impressed with that. When case oh was prototyping in the 80s that's one thing they couldn't seem to get right. All in all we will see on a full product release and price range on how much this tractor is doing for it's price
Hello
Hi
How many ft pounds of torque does the engine produce?
Another awesome video Jason! Love the new 8RX but the only issue I have with it is the of new side mirrors. Just my opinion.
Well I have not had a chance to show Case the mirrors but they are all eclectic and adjustable from the cab. Hopefully I can catch those in the future. They do look different all in green but they are handy.
I will never understand why farmers lug them tractors so much there designed to run wide open
5:30 At least 8R gets also new eAutoPower gearbox (describe here ua-cam.com/video/kEj6_m5WtbQ/v-deo.html) in near future (well, near, 2021 or 2022). Well, I do not see any problem to transfer to two (8RT) of four track (8RX) system as like AutoPower had in the past.
I do not live in America, so can someone tell me what the Americans are thanking?
Are they thanking nature for flooding the fields over the past year?
I am thankful that stupid people like you are not in our country asking stupid questions.
Google thanksgiving that will give you the nest answer.
How much more expansive is this version via the tire version ?
A price has not been put out but on the 4wds a 9RX 4 track is just over $100,000 more than a wheeled 9R.
