- In this video viewers will see and hear a 620hp John Deere 9620R 4wd tractor seeding at 9.5 mph with a 60ft wide Horsch Panther 460 air drill and 600SW Commodity Cart. Many tractor fans ask why this tractor has a 12 wheel triple tire set up rather than a dual wheel 8 tire set up. We climb up in the tractor cab talk with the farmer why he likes to run triple tires on his 620 hp 4wd tractor.

Thank you for this video and a thank you to the farmer for his time.
Heavy duty farming, many thanks to all the farmers.!!!
😁👍👍
Great video. The beginning was cool watching that John Deere come over the hill. Good work.
That was a nice evening in the field. There were three of these drills in the field. You can just see the 9620RX out in the distance at the very start of the video.
That is a HUGE tractor... traction makes sense on pulling all that drag. Also, for those concerned about soil compaction.. more tires is better weight distribution. When he started spinning all I could think was, "Don't get that stuck! " That is an expensive tow bill!
That's the coolest looking tractor I've seen in a long time it looks Kick-Ass with those tires and we want to thank that Farmer for all he does for all of us we can never thank him enough and we want to thank him for the cool equipment he allows us to see really good people thanks a lot not good friend it's a beast👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊👊😊😊
I thank you for your support and kind words. Let me work let me live
Love watching this machinery in action. Great video and commentary.
Nothings better than a huge tractor, tons of rubber and your best friend hanging out with you for the day.
Crazy how even with all those sneakers, it was still having trouble with the V-Ripper, but I guess going 18'' deep requires a massive amount of traction.
Is this the same tractor and farm you had doing a wheel to track comparison ?
Thanks and thumbs up BTP !
I have watched the 9620Rs stall out on a headland pulling those 915s. The spot shown hear spinning the 9620R is where all the semi trucks were parked to load during harvest. This farm has a 9620RX too. I filmed them as well as another local farm with a 9620RX and 9460R for that video.
When farmers around here first tried triples I was told 12 narrow tires cost less than 8 wide tires plus had the benefit of better flotation.
Another cracking video on another John Deere tractor . Thanks for sharing this truly beautiful machine.
Thank you for watching.
What an absolute UNIT of a tractor.
Inside your JD sounds like a supermarket with HUGE TURBO 👌🏼
Big Green you showing all the tractor did & dose shows that power is important being the implaments are so large and heavy. Nice Farmland Cool JD machinery🚜👍
👍👍. Thank you for watching. This tractor does some big jobs through out the year.
Thank You Jason for the great video with the explanation on all the tyres, take care and have a great day.
Thank you for watching.
That's no power boost at 11:45, that's an operator raising the implement a bit.
Power boost won't help if you don't have traction and you can clearly see the wheel slips over there.
More power while slipping won't let it "find" traction like you see there, more power will just keep you slipping and eventually powerhop.
Raising the implement just a bit takes off the load from the tractor and helps him get that traction again.
yep you got it right. Do these tractors have differential locks so that the axles work together? UK Farmer
@@johnwoods7577
As far as I know they do have diff lock.
(Although my experience is on a MFWD tractors)
Diff lock is an option, so these are most likely equipped with them
I'm not sure why you would think that these are mutually independent events. And, even with wheel slip, the tractor still sees increased load; tractor tires are designed to self-clear quite effectively, so, without the tires being glorified 'slicks' with all voids fully caked in mud/clay, the chevron lugs are still taking some purchase as they enter the soil.
John Woods I have percentage lockers as well as full lockers. Thanks for watching. Let me work let me live.
Good demo of the tractor boost 👍 Thanks - Doug in Iowa
Looking Good with the tires
Thx 4 sharing sir
Great video! I Enjoyed it :)
Thanks for sharing. That is a really awesome tractor. I Love John Deere
Very nice unit.
What an awesome video. Great info and content!
thank you - very interesting to hear the practical reasons for the triples.
What a Beast! That's an impressive unit!
Thanks for watching sir bless your day
Great information packed video, Jason.
Thank you for watching.
We just finished seeding in Saskatchewan Canada this morning at 5am I was running our 9620 RX quad track John Deere same tractor just with tracks with a 75ft bourgault and a 7700 cart and all I can say is WOW what a tractor the power is insane. I ran a 620 case quad track for another farmer I worked for years ago and that case doesn't hold a candle to these John Deeres.
😁👍👍
Cool vid BTP! Very informative. 1000 hours are a lot in a year, wow!
Any chance we get another video feat. a 9RT in the future?
Actually, I was just thinking "only 1000 hrs a year?". That's only 20 hrs a week. Sweet fuck all..!!! Hardly good value for a $500,000+ machine.
@@tandemwings4733 They don't work 20 hours every week..
Do you actually know anything about farming?
Love your videos keep up the good work
Thank you for watching.
Nothing like the big machines
Is it crazy I e watched this probably 5 times. Sitting out hurricane Dorian here on coastal SC this morning watching BTP vids. 🤷♂️😎😂
Awesum vid bro ,keep I'm coming .
that wasn't a power boost, he lifted the implement a few inches
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 love it!! Great video has always
love the opening the tractor coming over the hill with the drill
😁👍👍
Oh it's a different game with the Wishek disk and the ripper! Very nice tractor, like the triples setup and also make sense what the owner mentions about cost
That Wishek and 915 put the 9620R to work. I saw one of the farm’s 9620Rs stalk out pulling a 915 last fall.
Another great Green video!
Thank you for watching.
Equipment now days is amazing, nice tractor..
Thanks for watching and ur kind words. Let me work let me live
Melhor do mundo
Wow what a beautiful machine
Man oh man what a machine!
Triples look badass
Great video! Could you go over sometime and explain how a air seeder works vs a planter, pros and cons? Thank you
Yesterday’s video talks about the air drill vs a planter for double crop beans with the same farmer. You can see the video at m.ua-cam.com/video/a0mY2SddQcc/v-deo.html
Unbeliveble, great techonolodgy .i feel proud it is my favourite brand The best tractor
Thank you for watching.
Most importantly, the triples look MEAN!
😁👍👍

Love the 9R and as someone else mentioned the triples look good. I have the 1/64th model if this tractor on my desk with the triples
Very cool.
Man I love triple tires!
👍👍
Cool tractor
Very nice video with a beautiful machines.
Thank you for watching.
I wish I could work for y’all, I love big tractors
i wash it for free
Pleasure watching a video whose title is actually the subject of the video.
And the minature Picture to....
And no horrid music in the background that's somehow supposed to enhance the viewing.
Great video! That's a whole lot of tractor, with big horsepower.
That is one massive setup going through the field .I would hate to have to buy all new tires for that tractor .
Each tire runs about $2,000.00 a piece. No joke.
Trade it in
I just love all tractors nor matter shape or size 👍
😁👍👍
Thank you😁
Thank you for watching.
Nice I live in western Kentucky.
And it just looks cool 😎
nice ~ I'll take a dozen
I’ve noticed a lot of new tractors have the exhaust stack outlet facing forward. It looks odd. Any reason for it?
I do not know off one.
Usually to keep sound / noise frequencies away from the cab
Big money baby. Big boy tractor 💪💪💪💪👍👍
Interesting
Super
We need a tour of this farm and all of the equipment, sheds, shops and grain storage.
He was short on time. I have 250,000 acres 33,564 head of cow. Thanks for watching
@@xreconusmc3156, A 1/4 million acres for real ?
august about 34,000 cows 😂
@@byrne5948, Wow, that's a lot of cows !!
X Recon usmc how much of that is for crops?
My brothers 570r came with triples too.
Very cool.
Great explanation of why he runs triple saw that tractor and he just looks so bad ass on it
Triples have a good look and ride. Thank you for watching.

John deere is amazing.

Nice largest tractor!
Thank you for watching.
Yeah I love my old 95 8970 on 520x42 triples, and yeah it's nicer to pay $2500 than $8500 when you put an antler or sweep through the sidewall of yer tire
A triple 8970 is a cool tractor. When I first visited this farm in 2000 they an 8970, two 9400s and a Ford 1156 on triples.
Wow, a 620/670 Hp Cummins powered articulated half-million dollar John Deere! Now that's some badass American horsepower, right there!
Got any torque numbers for us? I'm curious.
Your torque question got my curiosity going so I hope you'll be amazed as much as I was. ✌✌

Never know my state had almost flat spots 😂😂
Triples also makes this tractor much more stable, also in the event of a blowout, there are 2 other tires that will get you back home with B.T.P.,great video as always.😎👍
Thank you for watching.
Seems a bit tame over here in the UK we had an Allis Chalmer B!!

👍 I just filmed an Allis-Chalmers B. It is plowing in this video ua-cam.com/video/UROXeu5rkJI/v-deo.html
Who ever dreamed they would have tractor that big from 1950 farming crazy
proud of & for them
When using 12 tyres , did you consider soil compaction? Also does 12tyres imply Ballast?
Anyway thanks for the video
Soil compaction would actually be less. The more spread out the weight is, the less pounds per square inch there is. That is why tracks are becoming so popular on big tractors.
Smart guy about air pressure depending on weight. And I gotta say replacement cost is a big deal but doesn't sound like as much as a big deal as getting the tractor up and going again quick with failure of a tire. Downtime during seeding on today's super effecient farms is just a no go. Unreal farmers can make money with equiptmemt and fuel costs, margins must be slim and acreages must be big.
very good. I here in brazil love all movies of tractor of american. Like in all.
Talking about the "power boost" getting the tractor through the tough spot. The tractor wasn't lacking power, it was lacking traction. The tractor ceased forward movement, the wheels were still spinning and if that engine pulled down any appreciable amount you couldn't tell it from the sound of the engine. Also, it was very obvious the tractor was experiencing lots of slippage, even when it was moving.
Unbelievable, in this video we can see the how the very last available power to the ground is utilized, may be the 2020 replacement tractors will fill that gap, where will it end? great video
Awsome video buddy that jd 9620 is some beast of a tractor cant beat a jd and notting runs like a deere if she not a jd shes a deere john
John Deere makes a solid 4wd.
She sure does
Always hope those tire bolts hold! Holy torque
Never saw a tractor on triples have an issue. They ride much better than duals. Less bounce.
@@bigtractorpower Many thanks - I've never even sat in the cab of one.
Like to see a triple comparison with LSW's, specifically designed to eliminate wheel hop, option is near the same price.
Isn't wheel hop a function of having too heavy equipment with enough weight on the tires of the tractor? I have to think metric duals put more rubber on the ground, meaning less weight on tire area? A comparison would be interesting, I see quite a bit of slippage. So much power, just amazing.
Wonder what kind of Jack and 4way you would have to use to change the tires. Just kidding just letting you know I really like your videos VERY good in depth knowledge.
Sir they use a crane truck to change them , their 1,378 lbs each. Thanks for watching. Let me work let me live.
My God what a beast of a tractor!! Holy shit that thing is intimidating. Need a massive shed so store her in I'm sure
Thanks for watching and ur kind words. Let me work let me live
That's a monster work horse right there! Just think what the guys 100 years ago would think of that in the fields. LOL Be like a spaceship coming to earth.....
You are 100% correct. Big step up from the 1919 John Deere Waterloo Boy.
Monster
Those horsch seeders seem to be pretty popular there by you
Horsch is a really good company, they pretty popular here in germany too.
Romania to!!!
Here in the south Great Plains seems to be the deal
At 11:50 you mentioned the tractor’s power boost kicked in, but that’s incorrect, the tractor was loosing traction so the operator slightly lifted the V ripper to reduce the resistance so the tires would stop spinning. Watch the front wheels of the equipment and you can see it lift.
All the sounds going off in the tractor reminded me of a hospital LoL
It does sound similar. The beeping is all the row units turning on.
Yes same feeling here also
@@SHERGILL71 lol
I like the triples

Any chance on 1050 Fendt vids and info???🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
There sure is. I released a 1050 video last month. It is posted at m.ua-cam.com/video/tymgnzSeJiw/v-deo.html

Dog: hey buddy I was here first
that's my favorite tractor no question it's cool
It’s a solid machine.
Flotation and traction aka science 💯👍🚜🇨🇦
I saw 3 of these tied together and buried up to the cab in central Florida in 1997. I wish I knew how they got them out?
Wow! That takes talent!
Idiots doing idiot things
I seen the ripper raise up when the "power boost" came on LMAO 😋
Dog going to stay mike you will have to ride on fender.lol
Jason or Jay* mike is someone completely different
This farmer should try out the LSW 1400 tires from Titan
I was just going to suggest that. If you traction, that's the way to go. Plus you get less compaction.
I was wondering if they have the optional front suspension and if so then do they like it?
The 4wds do not have a suspended front axle.
Ours do, granted they are a scraper special. Compared to our Case 470's with a air ride cab, the ride is much nicer in a Deere.
We well fed Americans owe John Deer and great farmers like the man in this video a debt of thanks for their hard work and truly awesome productivity. Plus. It's fascinating to watch!
Thank you for watching.
I would like to have a day off to watch these machines work
👍👍
