Don't let the haters bring you down. They want home cooking, simple like they would do. I live vicariously through you. I grew up learning cooking from my mother . I'm in Chicago as well. When I did it I had a client where the whole job was making dinner for the kids through the week. 5 dinners of whatever I could get 3 preteens to eat that was "healthy." There was no glamour to that job. But it let me go to college and transition out of cooking and into a job where I wasn't standing on my feet all day every day.
@@arribaficationwineho32 There was the mom's idea of healthy and what the kids wanted. The meals fell somewhere in between. If the kids ate some veggies there was way less drama from mom. If quinoa and kale were not on the menu the kids were happier. I got them to eat brown rice by serving it with stir fries. The food was freshly made every night which reduced how mad the mom was about the nights when it was burgers or pizza.

I hear you when it come to baking. My client requests tons of baked items, cake, biscuits, weird olive oil loafs. I’m not a master baker, and in a restaurant as a chef I’d hire a baker. That being said, I do know the fundamentals of baking and can manage bakers cause I’m a chef. Can I bake better than someone who does that for a living, the answer is no. I have to remember though my client like most people who can afford private chefs, can afford to go out and eat at the best restaurants with the best chefs if she chooses. @@CulinaryMisfits IDK how you put up with it, I can barely tolerate the couple dozen times I hear it in your vid, let alone if I was there all day LOL
Smoke detector chirp is like a white noise machine for Africa American people. It reminds them of their childhood.
Client is black. It’s a thing
You should say it isn’t a safe work environment without a workin* smoke alarm. Perhaps offer to change it or call someone for them?
fun channel and thanks for putting out the videos. also impressive that you're personal chef AND personal shopper
Cooking 3 meals a day...is a gift...you have to please everybody and keep it kinda healthy....if u haven't cooked for a family and meal prepped and kept a running grocery list... you have no idea how on your game you have to be.
Appreciate you keeping it real… I was a stay at home mom that cooked three meals a day every day from scratch. I had only one kid. I cannot imagine doing that now.🤦♀️
Love your videos and no you don't talk too much. Question- Do you cook on the weekends for this family as well? The beef and broccoli looked delicious.
hey! printed out this recipe and made it last night! really great! Couldnt get flank steak so I used thin sliced top round.. Worked really well. I added a splash of Fly By Jing sichechuan gold oil.... and used BLACK sesame seeds to finish... that made it look very sexy! Ill be making this again!
I love those Crescent rolls OMG! I totally forgot about them for a minute... I used to make them for certain meals, and they always add a fancy flair to the meal :) I love hearing about the menu ideas you have for a day! Terrific video and gave me a lot of ideas about what to make my family... Just found your channel. I love to hear more about a guideline !!!
Interesting gig. Thanks for shining a light on it. And I smashed/smushed the thumb for you lol
Love your vid! I don't live far from your client. I'm a mom of 3 so I consider myself a pseudo-chef lol, 3 meals a day and all snacks. Been playing with a whole foods plant-based diet recently, which is no joke!! You need your Doctorate in cooking for the plant based stuff. Thanks for sharing, love the content.
After watching this video, I was thinking about the Beef and Broccoli and decided to try it on my own. I forgot there was a recipe on this video (I'm writing it down for next time), but it was such a brilliant experience doing it from (mostly) scratch (I micro'd the rice) and having it come out tasting so well. Thanks for the inspiration; you've got a viewer for the long haul. I'm 42 and slowly getting myself more into cooking.
I love watching people cook. I learn so much, like the English muffins and using a fork to separate them!
If you squeeze around them (like use your thumb on one side and four fingers on the other to compress it side to side), it will open up.
I've only just discovered your channel through a Shorts video. I love the real and laid-back vibe of these longform videos. It is like a slice of life, keep em coming!😇
The commentary is actually really nice. That way it helps the audience understand the thought process. ❤
Yes, I would love to see how you are creating your hub! Home! Please share!!
Stumbled across the vid you made 3weeks ago and now I’m hooked, hope you’ll make more content
Very chill dude lucky family! Food looks great.
re: washing rice - you definitely should for any short or medium grain!
Besides the rice-water is great for your skin
This is the content I like from you, and the cooking videos.
I just found your UA-cam channel and I love your videos.
This was awesome! I would absolutely love more long form videos like this.
You are adorable! Loved watching this. Would totally be down for seeing how your apartment concept comes to fruition 😊
Interesting stuff man ! I'll check out more of your content.
Very interesting on the foods you serve! Hopefully I didn’t miss something, but do they give a credit card to you too? I love to watch you cook! Keep them coming!!❤
I love your commentary Chef Eric! Helps us see what you are thinking. Thank you for the long form stuff too. You are great at cooking and capturing it on camera! That is hard to multitask like that and get it done well. I'm trying to get to that level one day.
Found you recently and Really enjoying your content my dude. You pull off this casual professionalism I still aim for in my own work. Thank you for your time and experience
Great job on the videos my local chef UA-camr!
This was awesome to watch. Happy to have discovered you! Cant wait to try making the beef and broccoli
