If I try something like that, I'm thinking some kind of metal sheet wrapped like a piston ring compressor to help the insert go in.

I used SS scourers to quieten my bike exhaust, worked really well for total outlay of 70 cents....

@@TheEnergizedcinema that is what I am thinking. You could probably use a piece of screen and then clamp it over / on the end of the tail pipe.

Steel wool will catch on fire cool idea but it won't last fiberglas is a better option

671GuamBomb I have put about 6 thousand miles on them so far, just repacked them . Drops the sound a ton from open headers

I'm looking to baffle my exhaust system. I was searching and bumped into your video. I'm in Cali and you probably heard about our new exhaust law. Decibel needs to be lower than 95db at like 3k RPM.
How much db do you think your system dropped?

Not sure why you would think it would burn up? Steel Wool is used in gas fire places to create a amber effect.
