Great work man! That was brilliant using the old frame as a frame jig!

Seriously badass! Really enjoyed seeing how and where you made the cuts to pull off the desired stance. I have to get into this older stuff. Looks like a blast.

Glad to see you back. Nice job! I should have done the same for the frame of my ‘30 closed cab pickup.

Very impressed! And great video shooting! I have a rusted up '30 Sedan body that has been on the back burner for 16 years, and it's original wonky frame. In a previous life, it was a roll over, and the rear crossmember snapped in half. This gives me some hope that I might be able to build myself a new frame one day. Thanks for the inspiration! Great job!

I've used hundreds of cut off wheels over the years on my electrig grinders. I've found that Diablo .045 are the best I've ever used. Comments please...😃

I’ll have to look into those blades after I blast through my pack of abrasive wheels!

I liked them until I tried the sata.045, which I switched to kimball Midwest kimkuts because they’re leagues better

Is the 4" drop measured at the top of both rails or from the top of the lower rail to the bottom of the upper rail?

Thank you very much! The frame horns were from Roadster Supply, and the front crossmember was sourced from Millworks Hot rod and Supply Inc.

Lots better than a model a frame. Would prefer a 32 frame but this is nice work

How did you come to decide that the rear kick up needed to be 4"? I'm about to start exactly this project with my '30 coupe. And I've decided that doing it from scratch is going to be the right way to go.

A great reference for frame dimensions is the Boling Brothers Early Iron website. They build excellent frames in different orientations and show examples of cars built to those specs. I decided on my dimensions based on that info, the relaxed position of the axles and springs I decided on, and the short stature of the body shape. In short, I scribbled enough sketches on graph paper to just make a decision and rolled with it lol. Good luck on your project, and thanks for watching!

Its where the rear bumper braces would have put it.

What material is that square tubing does have to be chrome molly I want to build a frame

Did you flare out the frame at the cowl like how the original frames did? Or did you simply angle out the pieces as a whole so the width would match at the front cross member and at the rear cross member. Awesome project so far!

Good question! I used the front half angle of the stock Model A frame to set my angle and kept the rails straight. I considered putting in the “kick” in the center to mock the Model A shape, but considering my suspension setup, it wasn’t necessary. Thank you for watching!

I hope you are going to bevel all the pie cuts . Need full penatration. A + work so far. When you flush grind your welds you won't have any weld left ! ! !
