I KNOW! This scene literally proves what an AMAZING actor Ncuti is! Ncuti Gatwa is just through and through amazing. 😁 He was definitely the perfect choice for the 15th Doctor, without a doubt. He's DEFINITELY the new David Tennant! 😅 LOL The Doctor's been through so much bad shit in their life. They've lost all their people (the Time Lords), all their friends and family, their HOME (Gallifrey). The Doctor's lost far too much in their 1000 or so years of living. FAR too much! 😟 Poor Doctor. 😢 Best of luck, buddy! Have a fab day! 😁👍
@2:37 can't wait to see the short of all that fluid just falling at Ruby's feet and her just sorta looking down. lol! Fantastic episode though. Loving this season.
I literally just saw a video where they said that this episode, especially this scene, is actually about RACISM! 😮 I literally never even picked up on that at ALL! 😮 I literally just thought it was about being too stuck in your own "bubble" to gain confidence to live independently in the real world. But that's okay. Technically not. I recall the Rosa Parks episode from 13's run, 12 decking a racist in On Thin Ice, plus probably more I'm missing. I think this is the first time the Doctor's experienced racism due to their own race.
This scene is pretty powerful. I didn't understand the episode at first, thinking it was all because they were snobby rich scions, but it's clear upon rewatching this scene that they're not talking to Ruby the same way. Unfortunately the rest of the episode didn't make sense and needed a rewrite (one of at least two this season that did). If the A.I. hated them and wanted them destroyed then there were easier ways like walking them off a building, or as we saw using the dot. They didn't need that alphabetical killing order thing, except for her to turn on Ricky. I thought the creatures had taken over the A.I. which would have made some sense. Although killing off all your prey is more animalistic (like snakes eating all birds on a tree limb all at once, on an island where they never had snakes before). If they were intelligent they would have turned them into domesticated animals to feed on at leisure, and in older-to-younger order instead. Once all were dead, what do big slugs feed on next? Also, Ricky said there were still a thousand more people in the city (with names Q-Z), but the Doctor and Ruby just leave, instead of waiting and trying to help those remaining. He probably suspected she was lying about Ricky, but still....
Lindy please he saved your life and he can give you a home where your safe and if you just go then you’ll die and you won’t be able to live please please just listen to him
WOW! 😃 Now THAT was POWERFUL! 😃 I've absolutely LOVED this new series of Doctor Who, so far! Loved it! 😁 My favourite episodes so far are Boom, 73 Yards, Dot And Bubble and Rogue. Space Babies was brilliant, too, because the Bogey Man was literally made of BOGIES! 🤣 Oh my god, that was hilarious and then the Doctor nearly said SHIT! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 LMBAO Not to mention that really cool musical-style song "There's Always A Twist At The End" at the end of The Devil's Chord. That was so cleverly done. So, yeah, I basically love the ENTIRE SERIES! 😅 It's all brilliant, but so far, I think THIS is Ncuti's BEST scene as The Doctor, by FAR! I've yet to see the last 2 episodes, but I bet they're bloody brilliant (please don't spoil them for me!) 😅 LOL Absolutely mesmerising stuff! Incredible! 😁 Thank you so much for this video, buddy and hope you have an absolutely WONDERFUL day! Best of luck! 😁👍✌️
Glad I wasn't paying much attention and played games on my laptop as this episode aired, especially this ending. Think the only time I'll be watching it again is when I'm binge watching through Doctor Who.
During the episode, I realized that the people of Finetime are what the kids of today are like and grow up to be. If you go outside, you'll see it happening around you. This episode showed me what the future has in store for mankind and it scares me.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I absolutely LOVE the positive message of gaining self-confidence and literally coming out of your "bubble" in this episode! 😅 Ncuti Gatwa's mesmerising speech at the end is the personal highlight for me, though, because, as I've already said, I think this is his best scene as The Doctor, so far, but the whole message of being so stuck in your own ways that you don't even have the confidence to let somebody try and help you change your life is just absolutely amazing to say the least! 😃 I see the planet Finetime as a literal metaphor for being stuck in your own "safe place" where you've only really got yourself to worry about instead of coming out of your bubble and facing reality head on and living a confident, happy life in the real world, with friends who aren't just on a blinkin computer screen and you can actually interact with and everything. 🙂 I also can't believe Lindy was so far gone that she even said to The Doctor "You're not one of us" meaning he's not from Finetime and doesn't live the enclosed and reclusive life the people from Finetime live. 😯 Now THAT'S what I call being mentally deranged. 😟 I'm not saying that it's _wrong_ to feel self-conscious and live your life reclusive in just a social "bubble," but it's always best to face reality and gain confidence, not run away from it and feel worse. 😁 Yeah! 😁👊 Best of luck, take care and have a fandabidozi day, buddy! Remember to always be kind, cheerful and most of all, confident! 😁 Chat to ya l8ter! 😁👍✌️
Also, I want to know why The Doctor was so fixated on saving and even helping Lindy the entire time. What was so special about her compared to everyone else he could’ve helped?
Because he’s The Doctor. He doesn’t pick and choose who he saves and who he doesn’t. To him, every life is worth saving, even the ones that don’t align with him morally.
This scene remind me of Buddha teaching, he show the different between his students and others compare to the lotus if the lotus nearly rise above water, he will teach them also the one that underwater but The one that cover in sticky mud underneath that he can't even see it clearly even he put his head into water, he won't teach them because some people can't learn or be better by the way they believe to trust or their mind set to open the new knowledge to reach the happiness, Buddha said that someone don't even deserve happiness because when they have it, they make the others suffer or steal other happiness also it is waste of afford and time to teach someone like this woman in this video which beyond redeem I feel bad for The Doctor here, he think he is smart and they just plain stupid so they don't know what they're doing so he give them his hand to help them but they won't let him help that will change his way of thinking forever that someone didn't deserve his help also make me believe why God didn't help everyone but choose only one who deserve
tbh if the 12th Doctor was there and saw how they treated Bill (guessing that she’d still be around) he would’ve let them rot. 12 was kind but he still has that dawg in him.
When you compare this episode to "Rosa", one of the worst written Doctor Who episodes of Modern Who, it's night and day. This leaves the viewers re-evaluating everything in the episode. There is a lot of self reflection. Rosa: hur dur we named an asteroid after the American Legend Rosa Parks hur dur! See, we SAVED the day!
Powerful stuff. But would it have killed the Doctor to open the Tardis? A snap of his fingers and Boom, doors swing open. I do find it amusing. This dialogue is in such contrast to the actor talking about the fans that were put out by the show. "I don't care. There's nothing you can say. I'm the doctor, I can show you a good time if you'll let me." Instead of "Go touch grass." I've not been watching the show because I don't pay for the licence so it's literally illegal for me to. I've been watching episode-by-episode reviews. And what makes me sad and hopeful, is the Doctor so far seems to be the best part of the show. The episodes sound dogshit, but when I hear about the Doctor's mannerisms and the way he talks, I'd step into the Tardis right now if he offered. Because he sounds like the Doctor. And the last minute, him screaming in frustration and the tears in his eyes as he steps inside. I was nearly crying for him and I've only seen these 4 minutes of the episode. That was fantastic acting. Really powerful. Really emotional. I can FEEL the heartbreak for him.
It's possible that they wouldn't come close enough to have a proper look. He's snap open the doors, they'd see that it indeed *looks* bigger, but would automatically dismiss it as a trick, maybe done with mirrors or something. And they'd actively refuse to board the Tardis and get proper empirical evidence
It’s not that they don’t believe the Tardis is bigger on the inside, but that they distrust the Doctor BECAUSE it’s bigger on the inside. “That’s voodoo.”
BTW, I'm no expert, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if you could create this illusion in the real world: i.e., have something the size of a TARDIS exterior and make its interior dimensions appear larger from a certain angle/distance (woulnd't work once you tried to step inside, but would work as an illusion for someone standing outside)
There’s gonna be 1 episode in every DW season to hate My number one is midnight This is now tied with it. I actually wished the episode ended with him leaving in front of them to prove he wasn’t lying, hear them comment on how someone like him having that is unfair and the doctor crying at how far humans have fallen. while they scream and betray each other in the wild woods n ruby turning it off saying “not everyone can be saved…”
It's not that they necessarily thought he was lying. They were bigots who believed in maintaining their own separation and purity at any cost. To them, the Doctor was impure, and letting themselves get too close to them would be out of the question, whether he really can help or not.
The episode was very confused. The racism could have been interesting to tackle had it not been tacked on. It didn't feel genuine and you don't get the message other than RTD doesn't like rich people.
I dont think it is racsim, i think its more than that. She knows if they escape in the tardis, he will try and pick ricky September up and find out the truth. She would rather everyone take their chances outside than know what sprt off person she is.

@SilverStrumer She'd still have more emotion than now. Lol
Segregation? Or did I misread this scene. I love Ncuti he's full on. Amazing
The trouble with being an all knowing genius, is that it's hard to understand ignorant stupidity.
@2:37 can't wait to see the short of all that fluid just falling at Ruby's feet and her just sorta looking down. lol! Fantastic episode though. Loving this season.
The fuck is wrong with you
Audition passed.
Literally lol
I literally just saw a video where they said that this episode, especially this scene, is actually about RACISM! 😮 I literally never even picked up on that at ALL! 😮 I literally just thought it was about being too stuck in your own "bubble" to gain confidence to live independently in the real world. I literally thought "Finetime" was a metaphor for that. 😅 LOL I'm actually mildly autistic and I think that's why I've always never noticed hidden messages in TV programmes and films. But that's okay. I can't help the way my brain is, so it's totally chill. 😅 Everybody has their own view on something, so if you also didn't see the hidden racism reference, because it's, yeah, HIDDEN, then that's totally fine. Like I said, everyone has their complete own view of something, so you're not wrong, buddy. 😁 Have a fab day! 😁👍✌️
Why wasn't this the first episode? THIS was his moment as the doctor to show what he can do.
0:45
Duty?
When has it ever been The Doctor's 'Duty' to save someone?
Racism truly can be cruel.
First time the doctor witnessing racism firsthand. Wow
Technically not. I recall the Rosa Parks episode from 13's run, 12 decking a racist in On Thin Ice, plus probably more I'm missing. I think this is the first time the Doctor's experienced racism due to their own race.
The daleks are pretty racist.
I guess you forgot about how that guy spoke to Bill Potts before the Doctor gave him what he deserved. :)
He also faced some anti-Time-Lord racism (usually, but not exclusively, from villains), especialy during and after the Time War
@To-New-Beginnings. That was towards bill not the doctor himself
I don't know if anyone's going to say but I found Lindey Pepper Bean to look like a blond, young Catherine Tate.
During the episode, I realized that the people of Finetime are what the kids of today are like and grow up to be. If you go outside, you'll see it happening around you. This episode showed me what the future has in store for mankind and it scares me.
don't worry nothing of value was lost
They'll be dead in a week.

Roll of the dice really, she just happened to be the first person he called.
Because he’s The Doctor. He doesn’t pick and choose who he saves and who he doesn’t. To him, every life is worth saving, even the ones that don’t align with him morally.
This scene remind me of Buddha teaching, he show the different between his students and others compare to the lotus if the lotus nearly rise above water, he will teach them also the one that underwater but The one that cover in sticky mud underneath that he can't even see it clearly even he put his head into water, he won't teach them because some people can't learn or be better by the way they believe to trust or their mind set to open the new knowledge to reach the happiness, Buddha said that someone don't even deserve happiness because when they have it, they make the others suffer or steal other happiness also it is waste of afford and time to teach someone like this woman in this video which beyond redeem
I feel bad for The Doctor here, he think he is smart and they just plain stupid so they don't know what they're doing so he give them his hand to help them but they won't let him help that will change his way of thinking forever that someone didn't deserve his help also make me believe why God didn't help everyone but choose only one who deserve
Anyone else realize the intention here's is that he's black and theyre racist? I didn't get it until just now
yeah but they were also like that with rubby i felt like.
On first watch, I just thought they were stupid and can’t be saved. Like those brainwashed in cults.
They thought they just considered him as underclass.
Why couldn't lindy AND THE OTHER CIVILIZATION OF FINETIME DIE IN THE FIRST F..KING PLACE (expect Ricky bring him back please 😢🙏😥🥺)
If the 12th doctor was there he would definitely convince them.
tbh if the 12th Doctor was there and saw how they treated Bill (guessing that she’d still be around) he would’ve let them rot. 12 was kind but he still has that dawg in him.
@@galacticreviewer yeah 12th was a crazy one
@@nomprenom5340he was the old man that got tired of everyone bs
I think you’ve missed the point
if 12 was there, she would’ve never denied him in the first place 💀 how do u miss the whole point this bad
With the tear? Seriously?
Wait a minute what if Lindy is the recent incarnation of the Rani..?
Powerful stuff.
But would it have killed the Doctor to open the Tardis?
A snap of his fingers and Boom, doors swing open.
I do find it amusing. This dialogue is in such contrast to the actor talking about the fans that were put out by the show. "I don't care. There's nothing you can say. I'm the doctor, I can show you a good time if you'll let me." Instead of "Go touch grass."
I've not been watching the show because I don't pay for the licence so it's literally illegal for me to.
@@ugolomb this, nothing he could do could get through their ignorance.
There’s gonna be 1 episode in every DW season to hate
My number one is midnight
This is now tied with it.
I actually wished the episode ended with him leaving in front of them to prove he wasn’t lying, hear them comment on how someone like him having that is unfair and the doctor crying at how far humans have fallen. while they scream and betray each other in the wild woods n ruby turning it off saying “not everyone can be saved…”
midnight is a good one indeed
No. I think Ten learnt that from Midnight. If Eleven didn't have his hope restored in humanity, Fifteenn would have done that.
She would rather everyone take their chances outside than know what sprt off person she is.
no, you missed the mark there. they are all racist, and partly snobbish. its visible throughout the episode.
Nah, they are racists.
I used to love this show before it became infiltrated with '"WOKE" OLOGY. My once-favorite show has become a Soap Opera for Social Justice Warriors! Yuck!
What you said makes no sense . What does "Woke" mean, and why is it so bad?
@@mantispunch Whether its bad or not is irrelevant and depends on ones religion, morals, and upbringing. (For example, in the 1970's and 80's, gay sex was taboo.) By woke, I'm talking about the fact that the writers, actors, producers, etc. are obsessed with pushing alternative lifestyles. Their objective is to counter more traditional behavior and religious beliefs that are often passed down from the previous generation. I object because this is suppose to be a sci-fi show. Instead, it seems as if its main purpose these days is to target and shape the minds of young people.
@edcollins9377 Religion isn't objectively true. Neither are morals which are subjective. Gay isn't a life style that is ridiculous, and if you were educated you would know this. Maybe stop sexualizing Gay people yeah? The only ones who are upset are conservative Christians who think people should pander to their bigoted unempircical views. That doesn't represent the real world

Such toxcicity.
