Definitely a little misleading...using collagen as protein isn't "using it wrong" it still counts toward your daily protein intake, it just shouldn't be the only form of protein, like stated.
It has a different amino acid profile that works more towards joints rather than muscle but it’s still beneficial. And I add it to my protein for the day as well
Depends on the brand.Alot of them are bs and lies. Bone marrow and mushrooms need to be added to your routine. And a good lotion and drink water.stay away from soda its poison literally
There's no benefits from collagen. Our body can't absorb it. Our body breaks down collagen to proteins and then gets absorbed like normal proteins. Simply these people are fraud taking our money $$
Not misleading at all she literally stated it’s not a complete protein and that it’s not used for what most people are using protein for definitely shouldn’t count it if you’re trying to gain muscle.

I've been using vital proteins too but I can't find where it says it's hydrolyzed. Do you know if it is? Everyone is saying it needs to be hydrolyzed...
It only lacks 1 essential amino acid, but is still more complete than the majority of plant based protein. It just shouldn't be your only source of protein but it still counts towards total protein intake
Literally never heard of somebody using collagen peptides as a protein replacement. It's WAY more expensive than protein powder, so no idea why anyone would do that.
After 2 months 1 scoop every 2nd day mixed with frozen fruit/milk/whey protein shake.... skin is incredible... joints feel great... digestion is slower though... maybe need to take less than a full scoop... skin is the most notable improvement
What if you body naturally lacks collagen from a hereditary disease? Can you still absorb it? My doctor said collagen was a waste of my time but my body lacks collagen on its own 🧐
Collagen is still a great supplement, but it's not a complete protein. It can be taken alongside other complete protein sources so you get the perks of collagen while also getting the perks of complete protein!
They do sell vital performance from vital proteins which is a combination of protein powder and collagen so thats a great option for people who want both
The lack of tryptophan, cysteine, methionine and histidine is why collagen is so good for you. Your requirements for those amino acids are very very low after puberty. Making collagen and gelatin as your main protein source is actually ideal.
Yeah it's very low in most essential amino acids and especially branch chain amino acids. It doesn't make sense to prioritize a protein lowest in the aminos your body cannot synthesize.
@@fattdamon1980 oh odd, I'm pretty sure I responded but it didn't allow links. I'd recommend people look into methionine and cystine restriction diets and their longevity effects. Cysteine has been clearly implicated in cancer. There are also longevity studies on tryptophan restriction, and tryptophan has been implicated in neurological diseases. Tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin which is implicated in autism and many other mental disorders and digestive disorders and bowel cancers. Histidine is a precursor to histamine, which is implicated in allergy issues and inflammation. Of course all of these amino acids are essential, it's the restriction of them which is protective.
You are also using collagen wrong. While whey protein is a popular choice among bodybuilders, it may not be suitable for everyone due to its potential to cause digestive issues in some individuals, which can inhibit proper nutrient absorption and bioavailability. Instead of relying on whey protein, consider incorporating leucine into your post-workout routine. Leucine activates a signaling pathway called mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin), which stimulates protein synthesis and is involved in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation. One way to do this is by mixing leucine powder with collagen and adding in plant-based protein sources like cooked green peas and chickpeas, as well as fruits to improve the flavor. This combination can not only help repair and rebuild your muscles faster, but also support muscle growth and development. Additionally, incorporating leucine into your diet may have other health benefits, such as supporting bone health and reducing muscle wasting in older adults.
Bulletproof is best, Vital is very good also. I avoid other brands. Those 2 gave me my favorite results. I switched from marine for 3 months and it was 3 days my skin really looked good.
Hi Autumn! My son has a dairy and nut allergies but would like to use smoothies after a workout. Can you recommend something he can add to his smoothie as a complete protein source? Thank you!
Yes it does. She’s incorrect. Just finished watching a short by dr youn who says this brand is great. He gives pretty honest reviews so I’d take his word. I’m sure not all store bought brands are incomplete. I was literally just getting ready to take mine and read the list and no it’s the only amino acid missing. It has 8 of 9 and tryptophan is the missing one. Still has a ton of excellent reviews so I’m taking it lol
I use greek yogurt, collagen, greens powder in mine. With frozen banana and strawberry. Some cinnamon and stevia and fairlife fat free. Feel better for those days need something quick.
I just mix my collagen powder, casein powder and ground flaxseed into my morning oats with some bananas and blueberries. Whey is too satiating and would make me full before I even finish my breakfast. And two eggs on the side. I love breakfast, favorite meal of the day.
Thanx a lot autumn for this video. But wouldnt using whey powder builds muscles 💪 if one trying to loose weight. Also pls can u guide which whey powder to buy for keto freindly diet. Thanx a bunch❤
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SUGGEST which one is better and shows good results- 3000mg collagen pill or 9g(90,000mg) providing collagen powder, both of them are hydrolysed marine wild caught collagen but got difference in price. Also I eat a pretty high protein rich diet so I think maybe a 3g collagen rich pill will work the same as 9g rich powder. Or should I split the 9g into 4.9g protein a day to save money. I get other protein from whey, chicken and other sources, approx 100g from them.
heard from a doc channel that the collagen you take no matter in what forms will not reach the end as it is digested in the stomach. so there's no point eating collagen?
Collagen peptides do get absorbed into the body, just not 100%. To increase absorption, take vitamin C before collagen. Maybe some leucine to increase protein synthesis.
No one is using it as a protein... people are using it for skin, hair, nails, joints and bones. Not as a protein powder for muscles.

Yeahhh sorry bro this video was for people like me. 🙃
It said 18g of protein on the back and I was like "And unflavored? Neat!"
I use it as protein in my smoothes, which keeps me full, just like other proteins.

yeah but it kind of is tho, proteins just help build tissue. so yes, it is being advertised as that.
