Sounds good, not on the same page as you guys as far as the looks though.
Anxiously awaiting the lift and larger tires episode.
You are going to want to stay tuned!
Tires are fine
Looks ten times better than a Ford
MissionSparta , just not feeling the bar and the running boards.
@@graphguy Agreed, give it a 2" lift and those 33s will look fine.
Is it just me or does that Ram on the thumbnail look elongated
It does
She thicc
Qaz '03 long boi
Looks like a bloated ZR2
$1700 for an exhaust and it doesn’t come with new tips?!?! What a rip off
I have a carven muffler... sounds great and came with tips...500 bucks
The94GTC I know so the hole “bigger diameter “thing is completely useless !
Yeah my guess is a Borla kit is much less
Jason Daggett talk about $100 for 2 shitty stickers :))))
Borla, carven, Corsa, magnaflow, mbrp, flowmaster, dynomax all cheaper haha and more
I love that you guys are showing us upgrades that most people can afford and do. Especially while under warranty. Thanks.
Those aren't affordable, you could get all of those for a lot less going to just an aftermarket source. A Flowmaster exhaust with tips is a thousand dollars cheaper. A K&N air intake is $500 dollars cheaper, you have just saved enough to get a leveling kit and shocks by not going thru the Dealer.
Most people can afford? Ha. Haha.
If you can afford a $55k new truck then you can afford accessories. I agree that you can do it cheaper with non mopar parts but most people don’t know squat about how to upgrade their vehicles. If the dealer can do it and add it to their financing then they are happy. In my town there are Wrangler sports riding around with $12k in dealer installed options that would only cost $4000 if you did it yourself.
Roman is right, really needs a lift and bigger tires haha
And you are a bullshit!
Definitely needs like a 2, 2.5" level
The Ram Bar looks awkward on a stock height truck. A 3 inch or higher lift with some bigger tires will look a lot better.
the Ram Bar looks terrible and early 90's appearance. I can't believe how much it cost to give you that look.
@@drewengles4477 I agree. There isn't a truck on the market today, in my opinion, that looks good with those stupid bars. Not the RAM and not the GMs.
What annoys me most is the switch install.
Cutting into the dash-carrier and all
Roman,
I would put a level kit on and put 35's on it. Use the Bilstein 5000 kit. There is no spacer kit. This kit actually keeps your upper ball joints from hyper extending which keeps the ball joints in place.
I would go with a 4" lift all around with a level. That is what I have on my 18 Ram Big horn, and I run 37's with 2.5 inch negative offset wheels, and 3" fender flairs. I went less expensive and put a flowmaster exhaust on, done by me. I love my Ram. Not saying it beats the Rebel, but it works for me!
$100 for 2 stickers? Unless they add 50HP each, I would pass.
Come on, the max HP gain for even the coolest sticker can never exceed 25 CHP.
$100 seems reasonable.😚
everything was so overpriced . I agree fully with you. what the hell . Talk about taking someone for all they are worth.
Raptor stickers are 2k...
all stickers add at least 100HP
LOL, I think they're torgue stickers. 20 lb-ft each. Hahaha!
That CAI system is dam cool!....taking it back to the muscle car days
It sounds good looks good but I'd rather invest in a suspension lift and bigger tire's first then all that extra mods.
I agree 💯%
Performance first, then lift and tires. That way you can tell if the performance parts did anything or not.
Which tire would you make bigger? And why only one?
@@scarhart53 if you read right it says tires . Not tire.So all four not only one thank you very much :* pucker up butter cup.
@@scarhart53 HAHAHAHA! I see what you did there. Good one.
As a Rebel owner this video made me very happy
Ha, the exhaust crackles like my Cayenne V8 👍.
Sounds 1000x better that it did guys, good job!
Great vid! But why wasn't the technician wearing goggles? That's an OSHA violation. (Just wanted to politely post that before someone comments as if they're going to issue a fine to the dealer.)
The build is coming nicely and I can't wait to see more!
So Mopar takes the design Vararam has been using, added more plastic, slaps their name on it and charges 3x as much... At least the Vararam system must be a good one if Mopar is adopting it.
Lift and Bigger Wheels is all it needs now
Unfortunately no company currently offers a lift kit for the Rebel yet, or at least that's what Mopar told me.
@@SuperSaiyanX-0014 go online and search for new rebels dealerships are already selling them with lifts in them .. If you want to pay 70 to 80k for their overpriced add-ons
Who needs Safety McGlorses when you got Safety Squints?
Only TFL Truck baby! I really wish they would offer Manufacturers Performance Upgrades for the Cummins Truck's, the sales would be incredible.
I really don't understand why that skid plate doesn't plane upwards. Flat like it is, it's just ASKING to be a shovel.
MultiPurposeReviewer or at least have upward curves at the front and rear.
@@drbobvs Exactly.
Man, I'm definitely getting that exhaust upgrade! My neighbors are going to love me when I get back home at 3 am, lol
I have to admit: that truck looks and sounds sweet!
The lift and bigger tires will be great. I think you need a real light bar, the two up there look dorky. Then when the upgrade is done you'll need to do the MPG test again to see how bad it got.
Dustin Juell agreed those two little lights at the top don’t look good, they need to add at least two more
Eh to compete against the raptor that money needed to go towards a good small lift, 35s, and some good skids. Just remove the side steps lol.
They're doing a lift and larger tires
stay tuned!
They needed to get a little bit older Ram and go with the long travel suspension from KORE for the Ramrunner. A leveling kit doesn't put this in the same field as the Raptor.
BlueDually4x4 exactly, raptors have properly good suspension under them.a leveling kit would make this a good mall crawler.
Yeah they should’ve just sent it to AEV
The RamBar reminds me of a Subaru Brat. LOL.... Yep, I’m that old. 🙃
Best part of this video is the sound track. Love the heavy metal riffs.
Wow those were definitely some expensive parts... $1,700 for a catback and it didn't even include tips.
That's Mopar for you. I have a 2019 Rebel. I'm running with a Borla ATAK on mine, (with tips lol). Also a 2" leveling kit, 20" wheels, and 33" tires. And a Vararam CIA, which looks like the one in the video, but way less $$$.
Jason Boston so I’m a MP on base and there are some rams with what seems to be a borla atak my mustang Gt is super loud but I don’t want it like those hemis gunning it past the gate blowing out my ear buds. Are they decent if you just get the mufflers?
$1,700 for an exhaust and $990 for a CAI?!?!?! Andre, you got took!!!
I'm sure everything was gifted from Mopar.
$2700 for maybe 15 hp...........I'd take that same money and use it as a down payment on a supercharger.
For 2700 you could do the long tube headers high flow cats and full exhuast and cai
Awesome.
in the beginning it says they were given it free from mopar so why not lol
Donovan is a great mechcanic, and a really good dude!
Johnson Auto Plaza is the best dealer in Colorado, I've dealt with 12 different dealers and will only recommend Johnson for anything vehicle related!
Its a common misconception that beadlocks are illegal. But there arent any states that list them as not being street legal. Really, they are just a PITA for a daily driver because of having to re-torque them, and most tire shops won't touch them. BTW, it is required to have those offroad lights covered while on the street. Having them turned on while on the street is illegal in all 50 states.
Lift and tires really needed now. Getting there!
that exhaust + cold air is nice sounding combo
The Rebel is clawing up the hill on 33's just fine. 35's give the pumpkin an inch before deflation. Everyone is talking bigger tires & lift, but the performance upgrades are most important. Nice add ons!
My TRD intake and cat back exhaust were less than $800 combined.
Those "offroad" steps are going to fold and smack the rocker if that thing comes down with any kind of real weight on them. Doesn't matter how strong the step itself is with those flimsy brackets.
Thought the same thing man
My 17 raptor has the same looking steps and they hold up the weight of the truck
Because that they called sitesteps and not rocksliders
you can step up using sliders and they protect you from damage rather than subjecting you to more damage like side steps. why put side steps on an off-roader? side steps should take points off that TFL off-road index.
coelho sports that’s the first thing I tought too why put those lame steps get somebody to build some bolt on sliders
I agree but Roman needs the side steps to get in it. Especially with a lift! Lol!
Agreed, no improvement over originals.
@@bwmclaurin does anyone at TFL need side steps? i guess tommy or nathan would be the shortest and they're both 6'
It looked a lot better stock. But congratulations on unlocking that next level in BroTruck.
Wheels are too small for a Bro Truck.
Lmfao hardly a bro truck
I’d like to commend the Service Technicians for their skill, demeanor, and professionalism!
The bad truck just went beyond bringing it’s A game! I think I’ve found my next model of Ram!
I absolutely despise removing a stock "cold air intake" with another one that flows fine dust straight into your engine.
Nice tax write offs but damn that's the most expensive exhaust and cold air iv seen looks and sounds good tho
900???? For an intake..it looks like a circle filter from the 60s
Kevin Wiltshire $1700 for a cat back, without tips???
I was thinking the same thing for the airbox and exhaust, almost seems like catalog manufacturer 'performance' upgrades are full of shit or something...
You could do quality aftermarket for less than half .
looks over performance.
@@davidking3311 Yes but MOPAR wouldn't donate those parts to them.
The truck is awesome. I got rid of a really nice Chevy Silverado Duramax 4x4 6" lift, crew cab 3/4 ton 3 years ago. This video makes me want a RAM now. I currently own a 2016 Challenger Scat Pac. Dodge power is pretty strong. I swear my car has more hp than advertised. Your exhaust is dramatic. I would not be surprised if the mods did not add a bit more power. Even if it did not it sounds like it did. I also saw the video when you put the new tires on it. That is one very hot truck. Great job on the mods and upgrades. Boat load of money for the toy. I am currently restoring a 1986 Corvette. Just got it painted. Getting ready to do the interior. Also just picked up a 1966 International Scout. Next project. Have fun man.
Brings back the memories of working at Big O installing tires filters changing oil and inspecting all parts that need replaced!
Wait for the cylinder deactivation kicks in...different then stock exhaust sounds unappealing.
Put it on my Rebel yesterday. MDS makes little to no difference in sound.
I bet that you are right. That exhaust will sound like crap when the cylinder deactivation kicks in.
@@leroyroutt4791 MDS makes little to no difference in the sound of this exhaust when it kicks into 4 cyl mode.
Luckily I have a Rebel. And with these tires and no air dam it rarely drops to four. Lol
The intake is rather unique, whoever engineered it did an good job, with exception of thermal insulation.
What I like about this upgrade are the use of genuine Mopar parts. Glad the series went that route to show what you really can do. MOPAR should really do something special for you guys after doing this!
I like MOPAR, but all of that stuff was stupidly over priced. A K&N intake and a Flowmaster exhaust would be cheaper than just the MOPAR exhaust, and both of them you are paying for the name.
The exhaust? Yes. The light bar, running boards, and decals? No way. Why would you install the white letters out on the tires? Nothing you have done has helped the off road performance, yet.
I agree completely, I'm guessing it's because this is what Mopar would give them. I surely wouldn't have bought any of that, Mopar is too proud of it.
Chris Loucks tires come stock like that lol
So you get "lower profile" steps that look exactly the same as stock, you get a cat back exhaust that is choked down at the tips, you get beadlock wheels but don't even use the beadlock stickers, a Rambar that you had to drill in your Ram truck and intake. Makes sense...... normally the first off roading thing you should get is left and tires right ?
Great video showing the mods. I have to imagine you broke down the prices but mopar probably comped them for you guys. A bit over 7 grand for nothing that added to compete with the raptor. Plus aftermarket you could of got away with way less money or spent the same and lifted it as well as those parts.
Free advertisement for Mopar in exchange for free parts. Fair trade :)
Jesus. That was a lot of money for a lot of nothing
Guys I watch a ton of your videos and I have never commented before but I'll tell you what this was a great episode. Andre you have really got something here with this video series!
Andre thanks for the vid. Now I know im going with the mopar exhaust for my 19 ram hemi. It sounds great
Oh yeah gotta lift it for any increase in off-road performance
That truck is sweet👍🏻
Seems everything for the Ram is ultra expensive..I did exhaust, cai, and tuner on my '18 f150 for about the same money as that Ram exhaust.
Because Mopar. Everything Mopar branded is expensive
I like Ram and think that it was all way over priced. Could have saved a grand if they just went with a Flowmaster cat back system and would have gotten new tips.
have they fixed the bad mds lifter failure in the new 5th gen rams? ends up chewing through the cam and causing you a $4,500 repair.
DevineCrimsonThunder not likely since fiat cuts every cost possible to produce the lowest quality piece of shit on the road
It was pretty cool watching those guys grind, sand, drill, etc. without any safety glasses. Give ‘em a few more months and the entire shop will look like pirates with all those eye patches.
You know that tech was like “hell yeah I get all the gravy work today” 😂
Loving your Rebel project. I wished I knew about the Mopar cat-back exhaust. I just did the flowmaster muffler swap and it sounds good. But I love your exhaust better. I'm going to be getting a "rollbar" for my Rebel to, but I'm on the fence about the Mopar Rambar. It's a little to high for my taste. I would like it to be flush with the Cab of the truck. I really love the new intake system. Let us know how it will handle with water crossings.
Look into the GoRhino sports bar 2, with light kit so you can go thru the car wash or parking garages. Have one on my 2017 Looks great works great!
I love it 😍🥳👍👍. Now all it needs it’s a lift kit and some brand new tires Mud tires
Great video and sounds amazing. I got RAM 1500 REBEL and I'm thinking of change new exhaust but I got some low level question.
1. Will Cat-Back Exhaust systems burn more gas than original exhaust?
2. What's the difference between Cat-Back Exhaust systems and Black Series Cat Back Exhaust Systems?
Thank you so much for your time.
Never heard pops and crackles on a truck before. Now I gotta drop 1700 on my lifted Longhorn exhaust.
I have those steps and they are great they actually protect the vehicle and almost act like a skid plate
Have you wheeled with them and actually scraped some rocks? I don't think they'd be anything like a nerf bar.
The 5.7 hemi is such a good sounding engine. Really underrated
i cant wait for the ram rebel to get the new 3.0 eco diesel engine. i was going to buy a rebel but i was hesitant because it had worse mpg than the big horn, no 360 camera, and no middle bench seat option just a permanent console. though that console is the best console i have ever seen hands down 10/10. If it gets the new eco diesel engine ill buy it. hopefully a 360 camera too. its needed..
and the Technician does not wear safety glasses while working under the truck. nice!
Going to do the same with my truck…just as soon as the bank approves my loan!
Truck sound very good Lift and tires now
Sounds better than the Raptor lol
What is it with americans and this obbsession with sound? I've driven a gen 2 raptor in southern italy, and yeah it may not blow your eardrums out with noise, but you cant deny their capability. I guess us europeans just have other priorities in mind with vehicles not just 'muh v8 rumble'..
@@dodo19923 I can't tell. Every new Benz or BMW that comes out here the first thing they advertise is a 4 liter V8 or twin turbo. Maybe you haven't heard the term "American Muscle?" The gen 2 was great in every way but that 6.2 is what put it over the top, most people feel a truck that big should have the motor to match.
Fun build guys. I agree with Roman, it needs some amount of lift, even if it’s a front level and it NEEDS taller tires. Those stock tires look terrible with the beadlock wheels. The RamBar is a neat feature. The sidesteps are ridiculous and do not belong on an off-road truck. Sounds AWE-SUM!
Nice CAI looks like classic muscle cars. The best thing is that it gives “mo pawa baby!”
$600 for two 5" lights?!?!
I'm smiling ear to ear like the truck is mine... good stuff guys!!! Looking forward to the lifted version!
That exhaust system looks and sounds identical to the Borla Atak system I put on yesterday. Except without the tips and $700 more expensive.
This is FANTASTIC. I want to do the same. Wow, I am loving this Rebel.
Make sure you charge the air filter if it is an absorbed cotton style. Usually the oil has a colour like red or blue. your new filter looked very White the oil they used might be clear from the factory but I doubt it. The colour allows you to tell when it is completely clean (white) then completely recharged (red) . If you run it without oil it will be almost impossible to clean it out when it is time to do so.
One of the first mods I do to all my trucks I've owned is a muffler. Love to hear that power!
The new sound is amazing. However, from the video it sounds loud as hell. Will I be able to arrive home late at night or make an early departure to go to the airport without my neighbors hating me? My question, is it over the top? ...is it something you could do to your daily driver?
Thanks for the video guys. This is probably my favorite channel on UA-cam.
QTP cutouts controlled by the garage door button #2, best sound option. Loud as hell, only when you want it to be.
you might want to look at it closer it looks like you may have broken a weld on the gas tank skid plate mount. where the mount attaches to the plate itself.
That mechanic hates you for taking that truck in with the underneath all muddy lol
It finally sounds like a proper truck should
Cold air intakes like that can be really bad for off-road, you have to be much more careful in water that it doesn't get a full charge into the engine bay. It almost looks like it drains into the intake.
I'm really surprised the Rebel doesn't have an AUX panel. That was honestly the first thing I said when I saw how they installed the switch for the lights.
That Mopar exhaust sounds perfect. I'm sold!!!
The lack of eye protection in this video is driving me mad.
Since you posted this already, I will just agree.
Could you do a MPG test with the new exhaust and intake, and see if you mpg changed?
Definitely like the new MOPAR additions especially the catback performance exhaust, the cool air intake, and the wheels. Would be cool to get the fake beadlock rim part of the wheel painted RAM REBEL Red/TFL Red to match the truck. The sports bar is cool, I just wish there were 3 lights for better visual balance instead of just two so far apart even if they light up the night. The gradient stickers are tasteful as well. I have to agree with Roman than 35s and 3-6 inch lift would really set it off. The Ram Rebel Rouser is on her way. I look forward to the off road portion with all the new additions. Obviously a lift with bigger tires will make more of a difference off road than an exhaust and a sportsbar with lights, but she is definitely headed in the right RAM direction. Thanks for sharing more about one of my favorite trucks.
The mopar exhaust sounds good, but I'm not sure it sounds good enough to cost over twice the price of my Flowmaster American Thunder. The American Thunder is only about *800, and strikes a great balance of very little drone, but a nice throaty growl when you want it. (PART# 817843, for those interested) I'm also not quite convinced with that ram bar. Seems like a lot to add just for more light locations, IMO. Also, not sure I'd pay $100 for stic....I mean Decals. Although I do like the way they look.
Why doesn't the Ram come with a bed protector? Even the lowly Honda Ridgeline has that from the factory.
I dont really like the new running boards. Why not just go with AMP steps so you have more ground clearance? Either way nice mods.
Great video
As always awesome work
Keeping me entertained.
You guys have the best automotive UA-cam show. You always are informative and creative, and you always give me a good laugh. Keep up the good work.
I'm curious if the engine needs to be tuned to get the best benefit of that intake and exhaust?
Not to crazy for the rims. The bar looks cool but needs more lights or something. Looks too bare to me. Exhaust sounds great though.
So far all I have is the off road running board. I like them
Have you guys thought of taking a 5.0 F-150 and doing the same thing? Off road worthy with performance upgrades!
I went with the Borla Atak and it sounds a-freaking-mazing and it was cheaper than the Mopar counterpart. Also, I can't believe that dude wasn't wearing safety glasses lol
The Rebel sounds GREAT and looks really good too.
that was totally worth it!
Looks wicked and sounds mean!! Rims are on point as well
