- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- In this episode of the Ram Rebel Rouser we lift our Ram Rebel and put it on 35-inch tall tires. We use the first available 2019 Ram 1500 Falcon off-road shocks and Toyo Open Country ATII tires to make the Rebel Rouser awesome.

Anybody else gonna comment on how good that tech is??? He’s also personable and knowledgeable. 👍👍👍
Andre: Do we need to put on gloves?
Mechanic: Hold my beer
That young man looks like a dam good worker
only if all were like him
I agree he gets the job done
Congratulations guys, you made a stock Rebel look like a stock Rebel aside from the ridiculously bad looking light bar. Sorry but it’s true!!
- whoami - exactly what I’m talking about. Did you not read my comment. Why change the rims? They’re not much different, just lift it and put 35s on it and save the $ for the rims.
You miss the point of the series. Its supposed to look stock using as many Mopar parts.
jumex34 exactly what I’m saying! If you wanna keep it looking stock, save the $ for the rims and keep the stock rims. Just change the tires. The reason to change rims is for a dramatic change not to look similar to the stock in my opinion.
@@wrayzor97 blah blah blah
Yeah I would have at least went with a 4-inch BDS Lift.
what do you torque those nuts to? mechanic: yes
Three ugga duggas.
@@hochhaul One ugga-dugga was about 110nm (80 lb ft?) in my former life... Yes, depends of equipment...
When the impact stops turning plus 10 seconds
Grant Z Price it's called the German torque spec: Good-n-tite
LOL I was just headed down here to mention something about this and you beat me to it. I cringed every time he was putting a bolt or nut on with the impact.
Finally a video that shows the Rebel's rear shocks and how to remove them. I know it's easy but still nice to see it. Putting Rebel stock shocks on my Laramie with the off road package just because I can. Probably wont notice any difference but oh well.
No difference, not sure why you would do that.
A Ram with a 5.7 and a leveling kit is not a Raptor competitor.
Source: I own a Ram with a 5.7 and a leveling kit. lol
Looks just as good tho
@@VMAFIA - not even close. The Raptor has much wider, pre-runner style, fenders. This is simply a lifted Ram. Not the same thing.
I'm not a huge fan of that new 5th gen Tundra styling either.
ledzeppelin27 more than a level kit that you would spend $150. They actually upgraded the shocks as well. That’s a big deal for a good shock
@Andrew Smith HAHAHA! Man, that's a good one
I've been wanting to buy a truck and mod it to be like a raptor, but the more videos like this I see the more I think the raptor is more worth it.
Yea, factory warranty and way more power to.
FishFind3000 And sounds like a lawn mower.
Yep, better suspension without a Doubt. It would cost $7-8k to match the raptor suspension.
If only ram put the 6.4 in the 1/2 ton. It would be worth it for sure. But ford damn I’ll say there transmissions in those raptors go quicker then the time spent buying a raptor or any car.
Ryndan Riley buy a first gen, you won’t regret it
Funny how he just uses the impact on the strut nut after the directions specifically say do not do that lol
"send it home with an impact"
If you know what you're doing it's fine...they just don't want you to "send it home"
@@rcguymike yeah my teacher is one of those guys that can get it pretty close to torque specs.
@@lippixit your boyfriend
The best of watching this is your excitement for the Rebel Rouser build. Your like a kid on Christmas or his birthday Andre!
If you want to compete with a raptor you’ll need a lot more than just a leveling kit, Baja long travel kit and fiberglass fenders would kinda be a better choice
The Raptor only has a mid level kit on it alot of people think it has long travel. They only have 12 to 13 in of travel that isnt long travel and yes I agree this rebel still will not compete with the raptor. Those shocks they put on are better but they wont hold up
Not real crazy about the truck but i love how pumped andre is. Like a big kid haha. If he likes it, good for him😉👍
As an employee of TOYO, gotta love those Open Country!
Raptor will always look better!
I guess you haven't seen a rebel TRX yet
So what is the approach angle gain? Ram ditched the Toyo ATII for 2019 but TFL truck says what do you know Ram. I am sure ram didn’t get rid of that tire because owner were complaining about lack of traction in wet and icy conditions. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ good thing none of those conditions exist in Colorado
Two big differences between each truck one can go 100mph on dirt and over bumps like nothing (ford) while the other doesn’t turn on after being parked for too long (fiat)
Scotty Kilmer agrees.
NascarFan24 1992-present can’t go wrong with watching Scotty Kilmer videos
If you want a Rebel to look and perform like a Raptor then why not just buy a Raptor? This coming from a Ram Rebel owner.
Full Blast whack
I'm so jealous of that monster of a truck it's amazing
Those tires look like more street then off road
3:05 wow those upper control arms are adorable. Like a little wish bone out of a small Turkey. The ones on my tundra dwarf those. Same story with the lowers. That's funny.
Unfortunately when your Tundra frame rusts through, you won't have anything for those sweet control arms to mount to 🤣
@@krashnpa that's not an issue for late model trucks. Mine is over three years old with literally not a spec of rust. My friends one year old chevy 2500 though has an alarming amount of rust for a year old yikes
You guys should do some hub or lug-centeic spacers on the wheels, half an inch would make a difference on the stance of the truck. It might be some work having to roll the back fenders so that the tires do not scrape when theyre tucked but its worth it in my opinion. Enjoy the truck, it looks good!
Ford is the leader and everyone else tries to play catch-up! Just buy a Ford.
Jeff Talbot just because you’re the leader that doesn’t mean someone else can’t make something better. Should someone eventually make something better in the half ton segment you can’t just hold on to “well Ford did it first” forever.
If you enjoy a truck that does a mean impression of a Flathead Catfish.
This is your truck for sure.
Exactly truck looking good and mean
Excellent, so you buy an expensive off-road truck, take all the off-road parts out and replace them with better after market ones. Great, but will you do that if it was your own money ?
Right??? Why not buy stock and then build it?
Looking good guys. That will definitely be one of my next upgrade for my Ram Rebel. Question why did you guys not use the Mopar factory leveling kit and the 2 inch lift kit built specifically for this truck?
Pretty sure because falcon sponsored the video, so no cost
The Mopar leveling kit is a spacer lift which will eat ball joints rapidly.
Impressive articulation for only a level kit and shock upgrade.👏
No leaf springs. Coils all around. The only acceptable offroad choice.
@@samjohnson9894 And in today's world, it's the smart choice.
This guy makes the work look so easy. Great job.
Leveling kit.... cmon
whhitestallion puts on a leveling kit. That’s code for its now on the raptor level
I saw lift , got pumped someone got a lift for a rebel , saw it is a level kit , moved on.
That is one SWEET truck....It looks really well done! Love the enthusiasm too!
Andres role in this build is pretty much my dream job.
I like how the mechanic explained what he was doing while he worked
So will you describe how you will handle the difference in the speedometer readings? How many MPH more or less? Are you going to re-calibrate?
Walter Williams he probably had it done off camera its a very simple procedure
Jose Coreas idk I doubt they did it
FishFind3000 yeah I agree a lot of people don’t
This is what I was going to ask. I have my first RAM and was wondering what is being done to compensate the speedo.
On my lifted F350 my edge cts gives me corrected MPH
Hey Guys! Now do a fuel economy test, to see if you've gained or lost mpg. Those Duratracs are tough on MPG. Don't forget to calculate your tire size difference, or get your speedo really calibrated 😉
Awesome mods on the truck Andre. Looking forward to seeing how the truck does on the trails. Thanks for sharing.
Andre are you going to give this truck to the tuner guys to make it go faster and recalibrate the speedometer?
Ram sure does look good but still love my 2018 F150 5.0L
I love the falcon shock setup. Its plush like a raptor but its definitley not as much travel.
Seems like a half-assed lift. Not exactly at all competitive with a Raptor... And NO beadlocks are not ILLEGAL on the street. Most are not DOT approved, but not a single state has a law against running beadlocks on the street.
Bob Lionel if they’re not DOT approved then they don’t belong on the road which makes them illegal to use for street use. Come on man common sense.
@@davidytuarte There ARE DOT approved beadlocks. There are a lot of parts that are not DOT approved but still used routinely. If you maintain beadlocks they are safer than non beadlocks. Don't be a pussy. Been running beadlocks for years. Never a problem
OH MAN!!! Great video guys. I’ve been waiting for someone to make this video. I’m waiting for my company vehicle allowance so I can get a Rebel and do this. Thanks team.
The mpg for this truck was not that good before you started all these mods. I am curious about how much worse it will be after
Round 12.5 to 13 realistically. That's what I got on my 2015 when I went to 35"s. (8spd) But I went true 35x12.5r17
@@noidontthinksolol I believe it. I got good mpg when I was on stock tires 265/65/17 (I think) +mds 👍
Really depends on gear ratio. My 19 Ram 1500 crew cab 5.7 w/3.92 gets 12/13 city 16/17 hwy and it's completely stock.
@@noidontthinksolol unless you hand calculate your mileage it's not right. The evic is an estimate and is usually too generous on gas vehicles
MPG is a concern for people who actually use their trucks. A decrease in MPG is an increase in operating costs. But I guess that's all well and good if your truck is just a glorified minivan.
You should do the towing test at night so you can shine your head lights into on coming traffic. The rake is there for a reason, so when you tow the truck stays level. Welcome to the world of mall crawlers (all looks no utility).
James Ryan it’s not a mall crawler if you take it off road
The mechanic doesn't seem to know what the impact wrench will do, the way he 'tickles' the trigger proves this. He also does the same with the air saw.
So, what about speedometer calibration, and transmission shift points due to larger tires, will they both 'self calibrate'?
RTI is very imprecise, CTI (corner travel index) is much more accurate, repeatable, safer, instead of one tall ramp you use two short ramps or two hydraulic lift tables.
Y'all should do give aways or something, got things like custom offsets offering complete truck builds as give aways
Totally impressed with that shop and tech. Rebel is looking good....thanks for replacing those white lettered wrangler tires 👍
Andre, now we want you to go head to head vs a Raptor, crawling and desert running.
Looks great with the leveling kit. That's next up for mine.
You guys should check out the Cooper Discoverer tires next time! Either the ST Maxx (what I use) or the STT Pro (step up from mine). They are fantastic!
I have some ST maxxes and they are great! I am sure they just put the toyos on because they got sponsored
Y'all should put some wheel spacers on that thing, make the wheels and tires pop out a lil' more they're too tucked in imo
412 is still not a good RTI score. 500 is a pretty base score for a decent articulation for off-road. My Jeep WJ gets 560 @ 30° ramp with just a 3" lift and 32"s.
Can't compare a jeep to a pickup truck
Sure wish I got same results; my 2020 Rebel only netted about an inch of front lift which is about half of what Falcon advertises and not near what FLT was able to get. Still waiting to hear back from Falcon so hopefully have something good to report.
Sick, turned a Rebel into a Rebel
Looks great leveled and with bigger tires. I am going to compare your numbers with my leveled GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 4x4 on 33". Looking forward to seeing it offroad.
This is exactly what I want for my 2022 ram rebel
That technician... man he's awesome!
Sick build! Can’t wait to see how much it can do.
When they change the black/red interior I'll consider a rebel but time is running out.
I agree looks like seat covers
Interesting project. It's fun to watch. I don't know why so many negative comments. Yes, it's a /Fiat / Ram POS. No, I would never own another one. Yes, they're putting lipstick on a pig. That's what makes it great. We can see the outcome and it doesn't take a dime out of our pockets!
This is the best off road review source there is. Sit back, enjoy the show, and shut the _____ up!!
11:19 To 11:24 Falcon Bump Stop Is That When Roman Mica Is Racing The 2019 Flame Red Ram 1500 5.7L V8 4WD Crew Cab Short Bed Rebel At 100 Miles Per Hour Fyling!!!!
you should do the same with an 2019 Trail Boss or AT4
They don't have the money, they're paying for this truck out of pocket
lifting heavy things like that guy at 7:20 showing off is how you get a repetative strain injury for life. aka musle paralysis or other problems. its possible to exert the body to the point of life threatening injury with heavy exertion too. crap no one tells you about. but car factory workers would know they are pretty well taken care of. they get things to help them with RSI like exoskeleton suits to relieve their muscle work
Lower the tire pressure to get a better RTI(test at 15 psi, 30 psi, 45 psi).
Dude seems like he is a top mechanic
This series has been awesome to keep up with!
Those wheels are horrible looking on that truck. They should just spray paint that bead-lock ring Black.
eriksh60 I think it’s due to the bead being in silver and then also the white from tyre writing. It just looks a bit too much
i actually preferred to original wheels
eriksh60 Gloss black
I think the wrong video was posted for the title, because I did not see the the Rebel that looks better than a Raptor they are referring too🤔
I got a 3.5 inch ReadyLift kit with 35 inch Mickey Thompson tires on my 2019 Rebel. You guys should have done a 3.5inch lift kit
Listen to all that work that those knuckleheads are doing!
Good job on the toe. He knows what he’s doing. I can’t say enough about my guys at Dobbs in Edwardsville Illinois. They are problem solvers.
Even the dealer couldn’t figure it out from Kia in O’Fallon Illinois Offenburg Kia to be exact.
Probably would have been a good idea to loosen the UCA’s and LCA’s bolts (easier install and the bushings wont tear over time) and then once the weight of the truck is on the suspension tighten all the bolts down. Then obviously an alignment
The Raptor is in a class by itself but I've always thought the Rebel was the best looking of the rest and this build makes it better. Minus the sport bar.
Your ready for the Rubicon trail take the Rebel the VDub and the JLUR aka the “Vacum”🤠
Yeah free shock upgrade!... my $ & ⌚it would be 3-4" or 6" lift depending on what the driveshafts can handle
Hope you have better luck with those Toyos than I did. Couldn't get but 40,000 miles out of them before having flats all the time. The tread belts are easy to puncture around about that mileage and this was on a Ford F150. After 2 sets, never again will I buy Toyos.
Looks amazing!! Andrè is like a kid In a candy store lmao. I love it!!!
You stated the factory tires are small 33’s. The tire calculators come out to 33.1. Goodyear states they are 33.2 on there website. So they are an over 33. You are correct on the 285/75/18 they are under 35 buy 1/4 inch. Truck looks good
What does the tire counter say about 315 75 16
Did the bolts that secures the stone shields for the shocks have Loctight 242/243(removable strangth put on them so they will not vibrate out or something functionally simular). Also are thier any other bolts that needs a thead locker of some sort added?
Ford Raptor is still way better than the Ram Rebel, the TRX is the only close thing
Just leave then
Dang it! You guys had my hopes up when I read "lift kit". I thought it would be a true suspension lift of at least 4 inches. Should have installed a larger rear block so it doesn't look like a dog going poop.
One of my favourite part of the day is when I see the TFL notification on my phone, great job guys!
Shit!!! So you mean I have to drive all the way to Boulder from the east coast for a proper mechanic?! FML!!!! I want this dude to work on ALL my rides!!!
Looks good.
looking forward to how well these new shocks work!
What is the overall cost of transformation of the rouser?
With the factory adjustable “air suspension” on the ram, when u put a lift on it. Does it automatically disable the “air suspension?” Or can u still use it, even tho u have a lift kit on? 🤔
Look at the size if the shaft!
Yes!
It started out better looking than a Raptor and is now much better looking. And as far as capability I don’t understand why anyone would take a new truck into serious off road stuff considering there price, and the fact that a side by side is way more capable and funner and if you break it just put it on your trailer and pull it home with your over priced new truck.
Curious to see how the Toyo's work for you. Had a set on my stock F150 some years ago and took them off after 1000 miles. They wouldn't stay balanced. Not one of the four.
Yo this owner looks like the guy from don’t breathe movie 😂
Fake news, doesn’t look anywhere near raptor level
Since when is this news?
The Fast Lane Truck you tell me, your headline says it looks as good as a Raptor. I say it’s no where near same level as a Raptor.
Consider that if you have a standard size garage door,. It will not clear ,. My stock rebel barely has 1 inch of clearance , love my truck the way it is,. But i dont plan on off roading it much
Raptor is on another lvl coming from a ram guy.
For day-to-day use I think the factory Bilstein suspension would be more than adequate 👍
Y not the BDS suspension lift it has fox shocks
Free beats Fox everytime.
BDS kits are for mall crawlers. I would never put that crap on any of my trucks regardless of what shocks came with it.
@@joshtavenner3073 I'm real curious as to what lift you " would use "
Josh Tavenner bds literally says to abuse it , if you break it they replace the parts for free 🙄
@@jonhubbard5787 He would use Rough Country, Tuff Country or may even splurge and buy ReadyLift. Guy's a joke. BDS makes top quality suspension lifts and components.
Can't remember when the last time someone was excited about the size of my shaft
Looks a lot better for sure
Im definitely interested in seeing a new fins n things run, with side by side footage of before and after the lift.
Also new mpg now that its lifted.
Looks great, very cool upgrades.
Cool truck. Feel like the rebel needs a 4 in lift, 37s, and remove the rack and stuff to match up in appearance at least with the raptor.
They quit using toyo tires this year they use to use on previous rebels so I would recommend that you gone nitto or falken
Add all this + the cost of the Ram & your way over the price of a Raptor. Also does any of the mods violate the factory warranty ? Love the Channel Guys.
I wish truck companies would offer half ton trucks with solid axles with a diesel
Okie Bear why don’t you buy a 1972 pickup then? That describes most of them then you just have to look for a diesel.
Those shocks remind me of moutain bike shocks. Lock, simi open and fully opened
