Her finesse... Absolutely mind-blowing. Those ghost notes are so articulated and it seems like each one's loudness was handpicked.

I'm glued to her playing for 3 days straight.. specially this song. The hi- hat notes are insane. She is by far my favourite drummer after Simon Phillips.. love it Anika. Wantbto come watch you live someday.
I have also really enjoyed this performance for days! However, I wonder about the hi-hat hits in the "chorus", they sound a bit off-sync, like reverse backbeat if you know what I mean? Or is that on purpose? On the album they sound more on-point, straight on so to speak.
Who are the 22 deaf tone people that disliked this video? This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

@@cknewhouse4912 i agree. BUT its somewhat about hwo much there is a difference between playign drums and playing music. Yes, this is a show off piece, shes incredibly good... but "so what?". I wouldnt hire a drummer based on gymnastics. I'd hire them on tone, touch and ability to fit the piece. Gymnastic players are ten a penny. Great song players are rare - fortunately i KNOW she's both!!

I could cry cause this song actually company me when i was sick back in 2017. So everytime i listen to it, it really bring me back to those times 😩

Holy bally. This makes me miss drumming after quitting for about 5 years bcs of job and responsibilities i have today.
Still dreaming if i could become a musician someday....
Same thing here my friend. But from what I think, no we can't be a "musician", but we can still play instrument on our free time. And that's what I did until today. Oh and I made some drum covers and upload it to my channel here 😊
Anika herself graduated university and took a regular job unrelated to music ( I can't remember what it was ). After 5 years she quit, studied to become a musician. and she's here today many years after that fateful choice. So she's proof that it is possible. But it definitely is a really gutsy and difficult thing to do. Just sharing because I hope her story gives you some perspective. Cheers Fio :)

This is one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen...And under pressure too....I have listened to this over and over...It gives me an incredible uplifting feeling....It is so good that it can litterally bring me to tears...I have been playing my whole life...So to be moved like that is saying something.
Beyond words for this performance... You can feel the spirit of her music vividly and passionately. Way to Go Anika, my favorite drummer!

yeah much better than some of the dead sound she has in her earlier videos (when she got famous), i think the switch to Tama also helped, Tama + Meinl = great combination

One of few „Drummer-Musicians“ with real Music Entertainment. I really like her songs and albums.
Definitely a groove drummer girl. Love the way she inserted the different time signature variations. Have practiced her previous YT ideas of combining varying hi hat rhythms while playing backbeats 2 and 4. Thanks for posting!!!
