Leyndell catacombs is lowkey one of my favorite pieces of game design in Elden Ring. The first time I got there it was late at night and I was so used to the catacombs formula that I started genuinely questioning what was going on. I turned around about partway through the last loop which really threw me off, and since you can't fast travel out of there at one point I thought "welp, this is just my home now".
Kinda like the area in DS1 where you fight the Dragon who's body is one big mouth. My dumbass after going back to DS1 Remake and was like great guess I have to restart the game. Haven't been back since
This was a huge undertaking, so massive congrats. It’s as impressive as it is insightful, so thank you. And I’ll bet the Elden Ring makers will be peering towards it too!
This is actually so helpful for getting a lay of the land. The elevation is very hard to read on the actual in game map. This video illustrated the map so much better
This is one of the most useful pieces of content I have found about Elden Ring in youtube. I wanted to start a new playthrough covering all the game, and this video is perfect. Thank you very much!
it was on my mind recently because I've been considering a short video on that one also. do it! www.deviantart.com/vgcartography/art/Shadow-of-the-Colossus-Forbidden-Lands-World-Map-1046251268
Shocked you skipped DS3. Really looking forward to illustrated map of that one. However, I totally understand the choice to do it for this game first. Cheers! You deserve many more views than you currently have and I have no doubt they'll come!
you are the man, i was trying to start this game and really wanted to see (even though I didn't have hope for it) the illustrated map because you made my ds1 first time run so enjoyable and clean that I can't even start to thank you for it. thank you for covering all these beautiful games and giving us (whether new players or returning players/new char guys a chance to enjoy the game in a more relaxed way. ty very much.
I genuinely think this is the greatest open world game ever made. Seeing it all spread out and explained like this, I didn't even realise you could hit quite so many areas before getting any great runes. Absolutely remarkable, I'll never forget the first time I walked into Leyndell and saw the city from above.
Well done as always! Massive effort dude! Can't wait for DS3! Also the Shadow of the Erdtree dlc has really interesting map design imo and so many beautiful vistas.
You Are Incredible With A Map of That Size, Elden Ring Is HUGE!!!! Edit: Love How You Kept With The Suit of Revealing Each Area, Like You Found The Map Markers. 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Please do the shadow of the Erdtree dlc after this, that would be amazing. Especially since most of us won’t have seen everything yet; the full I,age of the map.
neat video man, it's always surprising to me that there isn't a map tool that is 3d. You can find multiple versions but there always 2d. This is about the closest thing ive ever seen to a 3d version.
Technically you get go to Mohg as you first ever greatrune and it's also available without beating any boss. Just follow Vare's questline and you're in
An idea: Do individual boteworthy / complex levels in micro-scale analysis from the Souls games like you did with Tomb Raider. We're waiting on Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 also.
Hello, I read online that you have Spyro ps1 games' models, could you upload them somewhere? Or at least all the textures? I've been looking for them for a long time, thank you
As much as I really enjoyed the deisgn of Elden Ring's world, I feel that a few of the ways of getting from area to area would have been better if they were actual connections instead of warps. Like getting into the coffin, or going through portals and it takes you somewhere completely different. It felt a bit disappointing that FromSoft designed this incredible interconnected world, but then to get to some places (like the fortress in Siofra) was through warping, which meant you couldn't figure out a path there, the way to get there was completely arbitrary. Also, Crumbling Farum Azula, while certainly visually impressive, was kind of garbage world-integration wise as it was just a disconnected boss rush. You warp there, you warp back. It's not connected physically to anything, you're just in this completely separated area, and imho it would have been better if even at the very least you could look back to the Lands Between in the distance.
I don't disagree, I haven't enjoyed it as much on replays. The dungeons are solid but the open areas don't hit the same way a second time. Didn't feel that way about the other games in the series
no way u did it for this game thats insane bro this map is huge , ds3 next pleaseee

I didn't expect them to be so boldly tricksy

thanks much! glad you enjoyed it.
You didn't mention the subterranean shunning grounds
Another masterpiece, loved every second of it. Gonna spend a few more dozen minutes looking at the map myself :)
Never would have guessed how well Charlie and the chocolate factory would’ve went so well with Elden Ring but here we are

This is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing this. The map always overwhelms me.
That Forbidden Lands sting was an unexpected wave of purest nostalgia. I should go replay Shadow of the Colossus and Ico now.

Sekiro 😢
no worries, I didn't skip them. I just already had drawn an ER map before DS2 I could use for this. Working on Bloodborne now, then DS3 after that!
This is amazing. I never imagine something like this even existed. Thank you.
The Leyndell Catacombs really do deserve a special mention for being the architectural version of *psychological warfare.*

From knows how to nail their vistas
11:46 *giant dog
Mid sized
For the work this requires, you deserve more subs, keep it up and they will come
It's cool to see the layout of the leyndell catacombs. I thought I was losing my mind my first time through there.
Well done as always! Massive effort dude! Can't wait for DS3! Also the Shadow of the Erdtree dlc has really interesting map design imo and so many beautiful vistas.
Incredible work here, looking forward to the next one
That’s some great mapping you’ve made. I’m greatly impressed 👍🏻 subscribed
6:58 we didn’t start the fire. It was always burning since the worlds been turning
Man is a goat for the videos he makes
You Are Incredible With A Map of That Size, Elden Ring Is HUGE!!!!
Edit: Love How You Kept With The Suit of Revealing Each Area, Like You Found The Map Markers. 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
More interested in that golden ticket song now

This is so cool, please make one for the dlc
U can also kill mohg at the start since varre’s quest only requires one shardbearer to be defeated
you can also jump to the weeping peninsula off a particular cliff. thats how I got there in the early game.
This is great! I think you got everything except you missed the Leyndell Sewers aka SUBTERRANEAN SHUNNING-GROUNDS
Most Acceptable Shunning Spots would've been a good section

Beautiful.

Awesome job! Very good
didn't know you had your own Siofra River at home, Adam.
Insane Game. Great Video, nice illustrations
That grandpa Joe reference hit me man.
Veruca Salt = Ranni was not a comparison I was prepared to witness
this is so cool! will you do the same for the shadow of the erdtree?
that's the plan!
yes please!!😮
my god, great video♥
At least half of the underground areas require you to have defeated Radahn before gaining access
An idea: Do individual boteworthy / complex levels in micro-scale analysis from the Souls games like you did with Tomb Raider. We're waiting on Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 also.
a deep dive of some dungeon-level souls stuff could be cool for sure!
Love that intro =)
4:40 what's that sound effect btw? xD
it's ants! ua-cam.com/video/UpPx7E27Bc8/v-deo.htmlsi=J4UGMW0uikke5Xjz

I guess the Sub terrainian shunning grounds were so confusing that they had to not be mentioned.
DO THE DLC
As much as I really enjoyed the deisgn of Elden Ring's world, I feel that a few of the ways of getting from area to area would have been better if they were actual connections instead of warps. Very cool Video
Will you do the dlc? Great work btw !!!
thanks! I will, but not this year.
Gotta do Demon's Souls.
Amazing
Shunning grounds?
Make the DLC map 🙏🙏🙏
You didn't cover the Leyndell Sewers + Three Fingers prison, do it all again.
How have you only got 3K I thought you had like 100K
I feel like there's 97k on the fence tho
Why wouldn't you wait just a little bit longer until the dlc came out?
i work slow
neat
would love one for pokemon games
When the map of the dlc?
Sekiro next, then Elden Ring DLC. early next year.
Forgot to do the sewers for fake mogh fight/madness ending
Dunno something about the map doesn't work. Great work from you but I don't like all the elevated land on the developers part.
I don't disagree, I haven't enjoyed it as much on replays. The dungeons are solid but the open areas don't hit the same way a second time. Didn't feel that way about the other games in the series
demon souls next😤😤
please do bloodborne
i dont need the map from ds3 but i NEED the map from ds3.

>He doesn't know how to reach the lord of blood near the start of the game
NGMI
I took varre's quest there for my NG+ guy to prep for the DLC! I decided to cut the NPC quest stuff I wrote for this because it got pretty boring 😬
