This video I give my 2.5 year review of the EGO Power+ ST1502 cordless string trimmer. The last few years would have been hard for a 2 cycle gas trimmer let alone a rechargeable trimmer but did it survive??

Nice job! Very quiet and seems easy to load the line. I had a Black and Decker electric trimmer. I managed to weed wack the extension cord and a copperhead snake with it!

Excellent review thank you. Most of the reviews on UA-cam are for products that just came out of the box and that doesn't help us much because almost everything works right when it's brand new. I want to know how it works after 2.5 years. Well done.
Great review. I am on the fence about investing into this product line, but your video is the only one that even mentions torque to help me decide. EGO should send you a free battery for this video so you don't have to keep waiting between charges.

I know I will be purchasing an EGO Trimmer soon.
Probably the Carbon Fiber one.
MAYBE the Carbon Fiber one that you can change out attachments to it.
I am not sure yet as to which one I will get. But, I do know it will be at least the simple Carbon Fiber unit.
The reason I am holding off is that we spent a fair amount of change on a new Zero Turn and the EGO 650 Cfm Blower.
I do like that Blower. Worth every penny.
Plus when we do get the Trimmer we will then will have TWO batteries.
One 2.5Ah and one 5Ah battery that came with the Blower.
That way we will have fresh charges and not have to wait until a battery charges up.

I have the trimmer that self loads the string. I have a 1/3 acre with chain link fencing in the backyard and it will do the whole yard. Sidenote...I just received and used my new Z6ZT yesterday. Understanding my front yard is uphill from the street. That mower went up those hills no problem. I was in standard mode on the lowest " turtle setting". Blows my mind four batteries can run a riding mower. I am the biggest fan of Ego.

And after that battery is charged you have a decision to make. Plug it into your weedeater and work on the property or plug it into your e-bike frame bag and race the doggo around for an hour. DeWalt started this overstating volts way back, these battery packs are closer to 52v nominal which works real well on an e-bike. Plus I need to stop using the hedge trimmer on grass and get a line trimmer anyway. Good review brother.

I had a ryobi gas with the .95 line. It was lighter than this and I liked it just as much. it lasted 15 yrs. At some point I may go back to gas.

You kept the tag on it for 2.5 years?
I just returned mine after one use the line would not advance no problem came with extra line removed line thinking maybe it was jammed up from sitting on the shelf. I thought this was great because I was sold on the idea of self winding new line feature well it didn't work. Returned the unit and even troubleshot it with the guy at the place I bought it and another returned unit had the same issue but their floor model took the new line as advertised so there is some defect that needs to be addressed by EGO. I spent half a day dickin around with a brand new trimmer and that should not happen.
Can you put different heads on it? Like brush blades for smaller tree saplings ?
If I want to get an extra battery,do I also need an extra charger? Are the chargers even sold separately?
I can get this same combo pack from Lowes for 250. Is it worth it?

Marga Danks yup a weed waker on wheels I call them,similar to the walking lawnmowers they do wonders,love mine but also I keep the ones without wheels close at hand as sometimes the ones on wheels just can't get into all tight spots😆👍...
Got mine today and took it back after the first use. Out of the box the line feed would not work when bumping the head. I had to press the head down and pull out line with a pair of pliers. Then one of the feeds wore down and broke. I tried getting the head off and couldn’t even after looking up UA-cam videos. Then after a half hour of not working on my yard I’m like what am I doing ? I’m just wasting time. I can’t keep fiddling with a trimmer head just to get it to work.
Wait!! You said it’s HEAVIER than a gas powered model?! That is the sole reason I wanted to switch to battery operated. I’m trying to find a seller that will let me try it out first-they’re all concerned with liability. I have 14 acres here-I’m not sure now that this would work for me….☹️

Hey! Great video! I am thinking of buying one of these. Just curious, I found a couple reviews saying the line gets jammed and it is a pain to fix. Do you ever have a problem with that?
Line jam has much more to do with the geometry of the line itself than the trimmer

That trimmer you are referring to is not their commercial-grade trimmer. Their commercial-grade does have a carbon fiber shaft but it also is designed for a backpack battery and sells for $400 for just the trimmer(without battery) and the backpack battery( 56 volt 28 ah) will cost you an extra $1300. They do make another trimmer with a carbon fiber shaft for $229 and that includes a 56 volt 2.5 ah battery (Part # ST1521S). This model does include the automatic line feed option. Are you aware that if you step up to a 56 volt 5 ah battery it will cost you $250 just for the battery? All prices I have referred to are from Lowes online.
The commercial-grade EGO string trimmer is model STX 3800.

No maintenance needed on the trimmer, but I think you need to change the oil in your cap !!
The bump feed on this trimmer is terrible. It either sticks or feeds too much line . Terrible ! Does anyone know of a reliable replacement head?
How do you get more string while using it? Do you have to stop and reload a whole new string?
