      Watch out for the 3rd party sellers on Amazon. One of them is charging $70 more than Home Depot which is where I bought mine.

    I bought this and already had a EGO snowblower. I agree that if you have one EGO battery operated tool, you cannot go wrong buying more of their products. Also bought a hedge trimmer and blower of theirs.

    So is the only advantage or reason to have a split shaft is too break it down for transport? If I’m never going to need to do that, stick with a strait shaft? Which model did you review here? Thx

    If the battery is bigger in the mower than the line trimmer how does it fit? Does the mower fit double smaller ones?

    I just bought the EGO Power+ 15" String Trimmer with POWERLOAD and the carbon fiber shaft and variable speed trigger today. I also got an extra 2.5Ah battery and a sling. You really need the sling with this model, it's pretty heavy cause of the POWERLOAD cutting head and the battery. But does it have the power, It cuts down everything just as good as my 20cc gas trimmer and I don't have to get gas and mix it with oil and put up with the noise and heat. You said there isn't a way to hang yours to store it. The back case on mine slightly designed different for some unknown reason. There is a protrusion ahead of the battery on mine and it has a teardrop hole to hang up the trimmer. I was going to get the 5.0Ah battery but beside costing $100 more it weighs 4.96 lbs. the 2.5Ah battery weighs 2.87 lbs. That's a 2.09 lb difference. The ECO Trimmer is expensive but I think it's worth it.

    I've got EGO's trimmer, edger, hedger, blower, chain saw, and snow blower. My gas mower is only 5 years old and its a Honda so I haven't pulled the trigger on replacing it with EGO's lawn mower. The mower is about the only thing of theirs that I don't have. I have Gladiator Garage tracks and they have quite a few accessories including multi-toothed U-Hooks that work perfectly for hanging most of the EGO equipment.

      I’ve got a 4 year old Honda self propelled with blade stop residential lawn mower that I use to cut 6 lawns a week. It’s great definitely not meant for the abuse I give it but until I make enough money to justify a 30 inch toro time master im just gonna run it into the ground. I do need to change the oil in it cause I haven’t done that yet it’s a bit black so it definitely needs it. 🤣 even if I was just a homeowner I don’t think I would go battery mower yet maybe I’m old school but I do use ego’s backpack blower and I love it, the power is incredible

      @@brianbordenkircher52 If you purchased the standard trimmer then you can't use those attachments. There is a specific model they sell that uses the attachments. Otherwise if you buy the fixed trimmer or the fixed edger you can't use them with the attachments.

      I test mine, 15 minutes of non stop at full power and I got an old one 2.5 battery on yard sale and it lat 9 minutes that's a 3 year old battery as the owner told me, he sold me the trimmer but it just burned 🔥 at first use so I just got the new trimmer with battery and charger, I couldn't pass a $20 dollars deal of that used ego even if the trimmer burned $20 dollars for a battery and charger not bad

    Lowe's kobalt80vmax brand has a hard to reload trimmer head and the motor doesn't last long if used for commercial purposes. After a year the motor on mine burned up and I tried to return it. Lowe's refused to honor the 5year warranty and tried to force me into paying to get it repaired. After finally getting in contact with Kobalt about the warranty, I was given a reference number. I went back to Lowe's and their customer service had to call Kobalt for a a second reference number before allowing me to exchange my bad weedeater for a second one. I was given a receipt for $201 although my original purchase was for $252 ($276 with tax). So I put the second weedeater to work and noticed immediately that the motor would lock up when put into to much grass. This is the third week and the problem continues. The battery that came with the newer weedeater only lasts for 40 mins on the lowest power setting. While my old spare battery lasts for an hour. (Both battery's should last for an hour and twenty mins). So it's come to my conclusion that the newer kobalt 80 volt weedeater is probably refurbished or defective. After dealing with so many issues. Especially with the strength required to turn/wind the string in and it being easier to just release the two side clips and load the string the old fashion way. I've decided to cut my losses and go with the ego. Sooo who wants to buy a kobalt80vmax battery?

    I am not sure I agree this trimmer can match the power of a Stihl FS91R you had pictured. The torque on that Stihl is quite impressive. You should do a comparison video.

    I bought the carbon fiber one with powerload this weekend. I charged up the battery and on my first use had a rock fly right at my face and hit me in the nose causing me to bleed. I noticed the guard is pretty small comapred to my old gas trimmer. If I get hit again its going back.

    I wish Ego would tell everyone that all of their weed trimmers are not quite, variable speed, (0- 5800 rpms, that's what I would like) as soon as you squeeze the trigger it starts running at 4000 rpms and then is varable upto 5800 rpms. If you need to go slower, up close to tree trunks or flower beds your out a luck.

    • @johnlevel30calhoun23
      @johnlevel30calhoun23 Рік тому

      Don’t squeeze the trigger around flower beds just apply very light pressure and the speed will drop dramatically as you apply more pressure to the trigger the speed goes way up no matter on the slowest speed setting or fastest speed setting. Put the trimmer on the slowest speed and apply little pressure on the trigger and your problem is solved!

    Your advice to not buy it unless you own other ego products is non sense. Everyone has to start somewhere. My carbon fiber string trimmer was my first ego product. I now have string trimmer, 650 blower, backpack blower, hedge trimmer and a powerhead with edger attachment. That purchase you say to avoid has changed my life.

      I believe I said don’t buy this if you have other electric tools from another brand. Like if you already have to toro mower then get the toro weedwacker instead of the ego. Hope that makes sense, sorry if I misspoke
