- In this segment of Y’s Guys this week, former BYU defensive tackle and current BYU Radio analyst Hans Olsen joins us to break down BYU’s dominant 38-9 victory over Kansas State. Hans reflects on the defense's outstanding performance, which has yet to allow a touchdown in two games against Power 4 opponents. He also praises Jake Retzlaff’s improvement, noting his ability to protect the football with no turnovers against K-State.
Hans shares what impressed him about running back Sione Moa’s breakout performance, where Moa rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown in his first start. Looking ahead, Hans provides his insights on BYU’s upcoming game against Baylor, discussing what the Cougars need to do to avoid a repeat of their last trip to Waco.

Give me S. Moa!
By the way, BYU kicked off at 10:00 am at home against OU just last year.
Jake ran his A** off chasing down the 90-yard pic-6! The nightmare of 2023 has been crammed down their collective throats, and it has been the reminder into this 2024 squad! So, the butt-kicking BYU received last year has been a constant reminder! The rise of this 2024 Cougar Team is based on the hard negative lessons they learned last year. Stay Humble, Hungary, and tough as nails!
I realized that hit by Wakely too! Stopped it!
Also, the tackling is seemingly always sound!!!
How could you leave Fred Warner OR Taysom zhill off your list?
The throw to Robert’s (who made a great adjustment) was in jeopardy, of course Retzlaff got drilled as he threw it. Both were under thrown. It’s why I don’t have an issue with the Wyoming interception. Epps failed to make a play on a 1-1 ball, if you have the talent at receiver you got to take those deep ball risks.
Jaren Hall made a living off under thrown deep balls.
He even got asked about it, and he told the media that it's better to be underthrown and not picked than to throw it to the safety. I just think Epps didn't do a good job coming back to that ball.
Wilson also made a living on 50/50 balls.
I'm super curious who those of you with such low expectations, EXPECT BYU to lose to?
Every game on this schedule is winnable. Go in with an EXPECT TO WIN attitude!
Thanks David for your awesome comment!
My #5 is Isiah Glasker.
Miss Todd Christensen on the field an off. Another one of a kind and brilliant.

Love the combo with Greg and Hans, one of the best tag teams in the business. We are spoiled as BYU fans to have such high quality analysis and commentary. Nice job all of the way around guys, great show!
Thanks for your kind comment, and for supporting the show.
Shout out from copperas cove TX. I will be at the game tomorrow in Waco to cheer on the cougars!
Thanks for the comment! Enjoy the game!
This was a great interview. Hard to argue with Han’s top 5.
Thanks for your comment, Justin.
@@ysguyslive being at BYU same years as McMahon, I understand.
Magical!!!
Uuummm, Hello! What about Glasker??
I may be in the minority, but I feel like Moa should start even after LJ and others are healthy and back from injury.
Great comment. Thanks.
I think there's an argument for it. I think Martin has earned the start.
I think now should be the starting running back as well .
@@camheelis1004 sadly, reports are that Moa has been seen on campus with a boot on his foot 😳
Our running backs are dropping like flies 😩
Catching y'all from Pennsylvania
Thanks, Elaine, for your comment!
@@ysguyslive your welcome. Enjoy y'all!!
How do you leave Fred Warner off?
Hmmm... we’ll have to ask Hans. Good question.
