Lately I've been getting frustrated by the blindness around toxic femininity. Not necessarily because women are more toxic than men, but if we don't address problems they wont' get fixed. Problem behaviors shouldn't be protected.
No one is above criticism. Both men and women should be able to own up to their flaws and try to improve. Instead we just hide women's problems like they don't exist. It's tiresome.
Come to think of it, I was reluctant to click on this video. So many female youtubers seem to be so neurotic and manipulative. It's refreshing to see someone able to put the overwhelming negative emotions aside for a moment and talk sense. Thanks.

Here's a perspective: I'm a veteran with PTSD. I also served as a first responder, and burned myself out. Compassion fatigue. Lack of purpose, and more I haven't mentioned. Dark times. I got a female therapist who suggested that there is a "toxic" environment in the military, and she wanted me to express my emotions. I didn't know what she was getting at, and she kept insisting that I just open up and cry. My next therapist was male, and a marine. We identified that I put the responsibility of everyone else on myself, and worked on anxiety management. I started to identify codependent behaviors, and relate that to my addict parents. You know... actual progress. On my own, I sought to be more assertive through looking for masculine mentors, but no one really stood out as viable. Eventually, I found help in women's assertiveness training, accepting that not everyone's problems are my problems. Even the parts about gender expectations spoke to me, because the idea of the expendable man is not too different to the expectation on women to serve, and I was deeply rooted in the idea that I should be expendable. Everything about it seemed to relate to my issues. I'm also extremely empathetic.
The point is that a feminist therapist wanted to treat a man through the lens of a modern feminist, but she might have actually done her job if she had treated me the same as she would have treated a woman, at least, in my case.

Thanks for the perspective! It resonates a lot. I really like when we can understand each gender's equivalent issues. Expendable man and women who serve is very interesting. As a man I have been put in position of leadership, even when I didn't necessarily wanted to. When I see the lack of leadership and emgagement in a group I try to fix the issues I see and it often comes at the expense of my peace of mind.

    • @ancogaming
      @ancogaming 3 місяці тому +5

      I can see your point.
However, personally, I think it needn't be an issue to accept the fact that one is, indeed, expendable, and more so, due to the tendency to consume irresponsively, unnecessarily, even a burden to the very ecosystem we are relying on to survive as a species.
In other words, not only does no one care if you or I or whomever wouldn't exist anymore, in the long run, but the environment the others live in would probably benefit a tiny bit, if you can believe it.
That's hard to swallow, but it shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings. If anything, it should be taken as a means to humble oneself. To find joy, freedom and inner peace by reading to one's heart's content and shed the weight of an illusion of responsibility. There is nothing the world expects from us, we are free to be happy if we want to, and if that's a desireable outcome, we had best set our minds to it as our mission in this short life, that means everything to us and very little to anyone else.

And what's the result? Thousands of men, men who in their own words have experienced toxic femininity, men who believe they are victims of it, disadvantaged by it, had their rights stripped by it plus million variations of the above. Men who tell feminist women at every every opportunity that no one ever listens to them or care about their pain and suffering.
After watching a video which was so well and carefully done, was entirely focused on negative female behaviors which she clearly tried to describe in ways other women would relate without a single negative comment about men.
Thousands of men almost in perfect unison having to point out that women don't have the emotional intelligence that men do, some women don't have any intelligence at all. The vast majority of you have demonstrated on masse that some men and women are equally shit when it comes to emotional intelligence. You can't change negative behavior or traits in others (male or female) by mirroring the same behavior.
All the effort Roni put in to this video and hope that it may help some girls/women develop positive traits earlier resulting in less toxic femininity, that might be good for all us men, I mean I'm guessing it must be because its normally all you talk about,
You'll never know how many women and girls might have watched this video then saw 5000+ men rip into it and go on to compete with each other describing how shit females are at everything compared us men so obviously they cause the all problems. Every female left with a reinforced negative view of men and an even stronger belief that men actually hate women from the 5000+ examples. Be sure and give yourselves a kick in the teeth before you head back to the Whatever podcast, nothing beats the "choose your own confirmation bias" you get to pick over there.

Then older men who naturally are more attracted to youth of course take advantage of the situation, and women get into their heads just because they are with someone more mature, that that automatically makes them mature.

The interesting thing about Tamamo no Mae, is that the Japanese syncretise her with other similar myths in China and India, saying that it's the same woman, Tamamo no Mae doing it. It's the homewrecker archetype, someone who spends their life fucking up marriages.

I maintain it's not the same because you do have *some* control whether to resist the temptation of a seductive woman, but you likely have little control over avoiding a punch. Furthermore, a femme fatal may not do a whole lot of actual harm depending on what it is she's after (a free drink? a job? to wreck someone's family? There are levels..), whereas a punch definitely does physical harm.
I'd put it on the same level as people who sell addictive and harmful substances, or people who are maliciously manipulative in other ways like flattery and fake friendship.

It’s a good thing this video came out. A few years ago if anyone asked the question of if toxic femininity exists to parallel toxic masculinity, people would scoff and say it either doesn’t or if it does it’s the conservative pick me girls who align themselves with toxic males.
But I knew that sounded like a misdirection Toto shut down the conversation because I’ve dealt with so many toxic women (including my own mother) that weaponize being oppressed and weak and beautiful to their advantage but refuse to take accountability for it.
And the fact that these types of psychos are influencing other impressionable young women to become parasites like them is awful. I’ve been shamed for not showing off my body, sleeping around and being monogamous. And I’ve been shamed for empathizing with men because I have healthy male figures in my life. I’ve also been bullied for speaking out against trans “women” unfairly competing in women’s sports and speaking out against only fans glorification and speaking out against the idea of “believe all women” regarding the metoo movement that functions off of a dangerous and flawed model of lawless mob justice.
There’s so much that’s wrong with the direction modern women are going and it’s good that the scale is starting to balance back so they don’t end up destroying society and represent all women terribly. I’m thankful that so many men still care enough to want to save their people instead of going the Afghanistan route and oppressing their women to the point where their livestock are treated better. Because that right there is real oppression. The liberty that western women have is not unequal.

@@mochalotte4702 Wow I didn't know women like you existed. I'm a man and the reason I had to click on this video was because it seemed like a rare instance in which my main problem with modern feminism. I mean I hear about feminists clashing over issues, but when I hear feminists themselves even if they are talking about society at large, it is always directed at me. Like it's my fault that some dudes were rude to them on the subway, meanwhile I am constantly getting completely contradictory information from people who call themselves feminists. Some of them think that women should be allowed to walk around topless like men, while others think that any man who looks at a topless woman should be thrown in jail and put on a sex offender registry. Men aren't generally the ones extolling either of the values.
From a battlefield perspective, it makes sense why women (well women and men) with two opposing ideas would want to team up and attack men. If women first fought amongst themselves over what feminism should be, there would only be a fraction of whichever force left to take on the men. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that after blaming men, male culture, and male dominance for everything wrong in their lives, rather than killing us all, they expect us to join them. Join who?! The godless who think prostitution should be legal, or the people who think having their breasts looked at is a deeply traumatic experience? Also, no not every man on the planet is at fault for what happened on the subway, men never agreed as a "culture" on ANYTHING let alone the approval of what some guy did back when I was 4!
Anyway, I don't want to join a group of people who think it is more important that they are called feminists and can use feminist iconography (which admittedly is pretty cool with the fist in the female symbol) than it is that they address their only true public outspoken opposition.
Look I'm not against siding with feminists, not at all. But in order for me to take any feminist seriously, they have to be very hard anti-feminist.
I guess that was a lot of text just to say that I like what you're saying. Perhaps I should post this in the main comment section instead.

Everybody is right for themselves. The problem isn't that the women think they're "right" but that the men in these scenarios try to prove them wrong by using facts and logic. Usually the problem is that the hurt person has some emotional need that the other is trying to negate with cold facts and logic. And since more often than not men are thought that facts and logic are everything they are the ones trying to destroy the opponent with them. The whole mess is often resolved when the two people start addressing each other's needs not who's right. Throwing insults is not nice, of course, but hurt people tend to do it especially when they think they were insulted first by being denied their needs.

Whatever you do, it's now something you do. You only need to murder once to be a murderer, and you only need to lie once to be a liar.
But more than that.... every act you perform is also practice for that act. If you cheat or lie, you make it easier for you to cheat and lie more often.
Even if you don't get caught, even if you "win" the prize you seek, you have *become* the kind of person who does what you did to win.
Also, there is always one person who witnesses your every crime, and judges you for it, even if you get away with it... that witness and judge is you.
If you think you have total control over your own mind, and your own conscience, you are dead dead dead wrong.
You don't pick what thoughts go into your head, or what feelings you feel. They come to you whether you want them or not. That hidden "you" is your judge, and you can never hide from it.

I disagree that women are higher than men in so called "emotional intelligence". This garbage phrase came from the feminist book, "You just don't understand me." Men have very highly tuned emotions. Were it not so, men would not be as good as we are at being able to continue to track and react to a woman's moods "on the fly". Neither could a man hunt or track, as to do these things you have to be very deeply attuned to all of your senses and your "gut" feelings to be able to sense if there is a predator in the vicinity.

Men can build their own house, and compete with each other to build a bigger house. Women have to compete with each other to get the man who builds the house. This initial competition is attractiveness. Though it isn't everything to track a mate, many women come to the conclusion it is because of the way men approach them. That and the commercial world hammers this. Women used to learn poetry or instruments and poise to get a husband, so society has skewed this. It doesn't matter how attractive you are if you don't have any other traits.
If you want to test this competition, have an attractive guy approach a group of girls and randomly select one as .ore attractive and watch the fallout.
Feminists are trying to cheat the system. This is why they demand thar you accept a degree as value because they can control and have access to unlikr an immutable characteristic. This is why they try to proclaim all women are 10s or beautiful. They are trying to remove have to compete with more attractive women by removing the scale, but deep down inside, they all know. But they actually accidentally show their hand here, because they want to be accepted as beautiful, which means they know the default is attraction. Instead of claiming being a 3 is acceptable.
That is why this necrosis is a problem in western countries. The women are lied to and lie about each other. There is also far more wealth to compete for. Other countries or cultures don't lie. The Asians will straight up tell someone what their flaws are. While it may seem mean at the outset, in the end it is actually more kind because that woman can work with the or around the flaw and know where she stands, instead of constantly being gaslighted.
Attractive women often end up alone because they have the worst of both worlds. Unrelenting attention from men, Unrelenting resentment from women. I just have a couple of attractive features and I am still attacked by other women to the point of employment discrimination. Women will resort to character attacks and do anything to take you out. They can even be married, but you can still steal their husband so you are a threat. It never stops. There is a movie called Malena that does a great job demonstrating the nightmare of being a really attractive woman and how women actually are.

Here's the cycle, and it could start with a man or a woman, but we'll just start with a man in this example. A young naive woman is lied to and tricked by a low moral value man, when she finally learns it was all a lie she says, "fuck men, I'm going to fuck up their lives like they did to me", so she starts her femme fatale arch. Somewhere alone that arch she meets a naive decent man, but she doesn't see that, she thinks he's just in it for himself like all the others, but since he's not, she does more damage to him than any of the low ethic selfish guys. This devastates him, and when he finally recovers from it a little, he says, "fuck women, I'm going to fuck up their lives like they did to me", and he becomes a low ethics selfish guy, then one day he meets a young naive women, but he does see that, he thinks she's a low ethics selfish woman, and he plays to win but getting want he wants without giving anything real in return.. and repeat and repeat and repeat. Each broken person making several more broken people. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, and a heart for a heart makes the whole world heartless.
Also look up learned helplessness and how humans are able to learn learned helplessness just by watching other people, and apply that to children of parents who didn't stick together. Notice how often neither parent takes responsibility, acting as if they were helpless to the situation, thus teaching their children, there's no way to tell if a man or a woman is a ethical person or a predatory person. "they were perfect and then they just changed out of nowhere!" kind of teaches kids there's nothing you can do, thus they either fear love too much to even try, or they set aside reasonable fears and diving in with blind faith that fate will find them true love.

You can be aware of your shadow traits and consciously decide not to act on them. Also, sometimes we may need to draw on our dark side a little, for example as Roni says, aggression can be used to attack or protect.

Because these same people assume of course they're qualified to expound on these apparently elementary subjects, yet won't even learn to distinguish them because of course it's common knowledge and beneath reviewing.
An illustration of empathy I like is that of the predatory cat, that's really considerate of what the mouse is thinking and what the mouse might do next. Such empathy to then play with the captured mouse, keenly learning all about its decision making process and just how the mouse feels about one swipe or another. Then finally the cat visibly grieves when the mouse is all played out. The cat got to know the mouse intimately.
Sympathy was so elusive, until ten years ago we chanced to _see it_ on a brain scan. The so called "mirror neurons". When a neural pattern lights up as someone performs an action, and then another viewing the action has the same pattern of neurons light up... that's _the sympathy,_ like an organ made of meat that can be poked and stimulated with probes.

I'm a victim of a toxic feminist. This helped shed light into my ex-wife's behaviors. I'm concerned for my children with her because I'm not sure which toxic feminine trait she would have. But I have seen her use and abuse her own power to try and gain control over me, albeit in a different way since she is a lesbian now. The last quotes you shared from Carl Jung struck a chord with me concerning feminity as a whole or humanity to put it in a bigger perspective. David from Disturbed wrote about, in his songs, that it takes the darkness to see the light. We are all facing duality like never before and must choose where to turn. Light or dark, but neither is the wrong choice. It's just a choice. I hope to gain some additional insight as to how to interact with my ex since she and I share children, and I must find a way to help the tension between us loosen. I will never claim to be perfect, and I will definitely stumble along the way. But thank you, Roni, for posting this. I hope this helps others the way it needs to.

I hope this video gets well over a million views, and i hope (because i dont EVER seem to see most women watch this kind of self reflective and assessing content) the women truly take what you said to heart. Everyone can learn from this, period but i hope the women find their place in what you said and all men who have experienced or been victim to this kind of treatment can recognize where it comes from and hopefully heal. I can speak only from the experience of being a man with an overbearing mother which led to being bullied and abused a lot of girls and women- if you were to say this happened to you, a lot of people wouldnt believe you because they still think lack of physical harm means harmlessness. I think this video is very well done, i hope it gets the respect and awareness it deserves.

The extreme with which some are pushing and living out this twisted version of Female Sexuality feels like they're retaliating for what they perceived as Female Oppression by Toxic Masculinity for centuries. We as empathetic creatures should KNOW that 2 wrongs do not make a right (that is if one agrees with the position of female oppression in the first place). Truly the way forward is not...whatever THIS is. (This being toxic femininity) Men and Women are equal opposites, we're built differently and as such have our own unique strengths and weaknesses which should be praised and accented by each other. I don't think it's necessary to make weirdos like me feel like they don't have value in society just because they don't fall into the normal pattern of human behavior, so it's not surprising he's an instant turn off to some people.

I think the reason why so many feel the need to shame or scare women into having children is because we need them to for society to perpetuate itself, and shaming is how societal rules are enforced, but that doesn't mean these rules are right for everyone.

I always thought that women congratulating, celebrating, and feeding into the negative traits of toxic femininity of other women was a subtle form of sabotage. A way to appear helpful and supportive while undermining the value of the other woman.
The problem with that train of thought is that they actually seem to believe the nonsense they're spouting. So is it that they are actually undermining other women? And that they're so trapped in their own fear of ostracization, that they're following the other lemmings off the cliff for fear of being cast out? Or is it that they've heard their own lies and those of other so often, that they actually begun to believe it themselves? Or is it just that they are so miserable themselves, they really don't care what it takes to bring everyone around them down to their level? Regardless, it's all pretty self-destructive.

It's such an important message to bring forward, and I think this will be a hot subject from women like yourself to bring forward as a response to the current state of feminism; where I think there will be a natural correction to a more balanced state.
The message has to be of compassion and something emotionally understandable to have full impact om the majority of women, which I'm sure you are aware of; which is also the reason why channels like yours and Eryn, is what I think will be the true movement forward as opposed to those of Just Pearly things which has a more logical and perhaps too masculine approach.

They were more glamorous 💅🏻😂) the only time that I really start to second-guess myself is when I think about being older and the possibility that no one will be there to care for me, which in my opinion is not a good enough reason to bring children into this world. I have my family. I have my pets. I have a fulfilling job and lots of hobbies, i date and still hope to find my husband out there. Life is great without the responsibility of children holding me back. 😎💖my question to you is were you always sure that you didn’t want or is it something that you sort of convinced yourself later in life? I understand where you’re coming from with the whole circle of life thing. I’m sure it is a very beautiful thing to be a part of and there is no substitute, but again it is not necessary for a great life. If it’s really something in your soul that you want badly, there is still time! Or maybe you could adopt? (Not the same i know but still a great thing to do!) i’m just curious as to what made you change your mind from not wanting kids to feeling like you are missing out on some thing?

Additionally, I think you and many who use the turn or phrase, misunderstand what happy means. I am not happy if I get everything I want and people kowtow to all my selfish desires. I would become lazy and entitled and would not respect the other which in the end does not satisfy me. A truly happy wife or husband is one that gets checked on their bullshit and is held accountable for various responsibilities within the household because it gives you purpose. Intuition being that if she's so sheltered by her mother to the point that it makes her persephone, she would most likely turn away at any push towards something that even remotely looks like it would mean leaving the safe, childlike, naive bomb shelter that she's made her world out to be. Not to mention that in general people don't like to be told what to do, especially when it's something they are actively avoiding.
So if she's persephone, don't push or tell her to grow up so overtly, but push her towards a path or events that would result in her gaining more life experience, that can help slowly eat up at that bomb shelter.
If Hades' Tartarus is what underdeveloped persephones fall into when they're not ready for the world, then what I'd do is guide her so that her naivety and infantilized image of herself will erode. Something that makes her uncomfortable, so that she learns it's okay to be uncomfortable and that she'll be better for it, but not so uncomfortable that it will traumatize her fragile sensibilities and push her further into her bomb shelter. In other words, help her pursue experiences that will provide a small taste of tartarus now, and slowly inch her towards gaining more experience so that eventually she'll actually want to be independent and break out of her shelled illusion of an everlasting spring. Like persephone, someone who is not prepared for winter and only knows spring, will experience a harsh awakening that is befitting of Tartarus analogies.
Good luck, good fathers who care about their children's development are doing God's work.

Also speaking from experience, I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and it was pretty severe for me. I went from a F-D student university dropout working as a janitor, to going back to a better even tougher university to finish my degree and doing so with straight A's. Despite this, ADHD should never be used as an excuse for your shortcomings, failures, or to not pursue growth. ADHD is a personal obstacle to overcome, and something you should want to overcome. I could have chosen to go get help, and work on my ADHD on my own before I dropped out, but I didn't back then because of my pride, and because I liked having an excuse to rely on.

    This is great.
It gives me a slight hope that maybe, just maybe "things will start to change for the better" (before I kick the bucket).

People always push something until it reaches absurdity and it collapses. Feminism is no different. Whatifalthist has a number of videos on this.

@@charliedontsurf334 seeing men (guys) discuss it, isn't the same as seeing intelligent women (gals) covering it (from a female perspective).

I coined the term “toxic compassion” which I think has flooded the minds of many women in the modern age who obsess over spreading society’s resources too thin across a myriad of issues ranging from social programs and taxing the rich to wars overseas while utterly ignoring other important things like cost of living. I’m no scientist but I theorize not having enough children greatly contributes to it.

Yep, they need to do something with those nurturing impulses. By turning it to politics, they get to feel good about "helping those poor people" without noticeably inconveniencing themselves. I'm not saying they don't experience any negative effects from their choices. I'm saying that they don't connect the "here and now" with votes cast 8+ years ago. Anything bad now is obviously the result of "evil" or "greedy" people and not at all connected to their choices.

They also need a "religion," something to stand for and believe in. Until they find out the ideology they are supporting would subjugate them even worse.
