A 47 year old trad wife came to work at the factory I work at last year. Shed never had to work. Her husband had left her for a 20 something year old. She didnt get the house and was having to sleep on her adult daughters couch. She kept up fine at the factory but once management found out she had some health issues they didnt want to hire her after her 90 days so they let her go.
Men will use you and take your best years and then when you age naturally they will trade you in and leave you with as little as they can possibly get away with. You cannot predict 10 15 20 years ahead which ones will do this.
Meanwhile even though I work at a low pay factory job making 30k a year I own a home, paid off car, pay my bills up ahead of time. Buy myself a few things when I want. I dont open my legs for a roof and food and hope for the best from the male. There is no bottom to males depravity

      eFinism is a cult.
      1) Zero tolerance for criticism or questions (blame the men.)
      2) Absolute authoritarianism without accountability (Believe all Waman.)
      3) Unreasonable fears about the outside world that often involve evil conspiracies and persecutions. (Men must obey us or we divorce them)
      4) A belief that former followers are always wrong for leaving (Trad wamman should be shamed.)

Something similar took place recently in Ukra*ne, where women protested on the street that the government should draft more men, and insulted bypassing men as cowards and alike. Apparently the guys reacted ashamed, what they should not. Unlike the men, who are in danger to get drafted by recruiters, these women could join willingly. But they won't, they want their human shields.
And it always will be this way, no one of the western news outlets, now in 2024, reported negatively about them but the men. One should think that at least nowadays there would be a different tone. Eq*ality in women's eyes isn't what you find in the dictionary...

    • @Korschtal
      @Korschtal 10 годин тому +1

It was similar for me. In Germany, we have a lot of refugees from Ukraine, and they're almost all female or children. I'm not saying it's wrong that this should be the case, but it's remarkable how fast "equality" vanished when it became potentially dangerous. I have no doubt that once the war ends, these same women will be demanding "equal rights" in the rebuilt Ukraine woth no sense of irony.

Oh Lordy, I really wish I heard this conversation when I was 14 years old and declared myself to "never be vulnerable" - it was a trauma response to a very narcissistic mother who tortured me and taught me all about free love. I am a product of free love, and then was told from a very young age that I was supposed to be an abortion ("your father wanted you to be aborted")
I needed God and family, but only got church on Sundays and the collective shame in the air over being a "bastard" child.
I also took a vow of poverty (Shakerton Pledge) and gravitated towards liberation theology in search of meaning, that and mythology and biblical symbology. Overall, Marxist and post-modern ideology has really shaped most of my decisions. I'm now in my young 50s re-discovering the spiritual awakening I had at 19. I can honestly say that higher education overshadowed that awakening. I must have grace and self forgiveness for living such a misguided life.
    I'm back, baby!

Knew one teen when we were 15-16 who indicated that his mother mentioning aborting him, so I guess it was her grand decision, profoundly disturbed him. He made the local news and did 20yrs for 2nd degree murder beginning at age 18-19.
My opinion on abortion itself might change to ~there should be no question: you're own child must not sense that possibility~.

Another very important podcast. As a 56 yo man that came out of a 25 yr relationship with kids, I watched from the side lines so many women acting so destructively, in a couple relationship or as single women, either encouraging or being encouraged by other women, to put off for later having meaningful relationships and having a child in their life, acting impulsively. These conversation had and has to come from women. Now being on the dating scene, I read and meet many broken women longing for a husban and kids. This saddens me to see their suffering. Congratulation to have the courage to talk about such a heated and emotional subject.

Beautiful and constructive conversation between two independent, critical thinkers. Apparently, J. Peterson said something along the same lines - women see people as either children or other folks needing their motherly protection, looking for allies. Those who do not align, are viewed as enemies. Which explains the divisiveness of feminism. You should not be independent, but choose a side.

Facts. Feminism likely got really started in 1848 with the Declaration of Sentiments. The word apparently started in France in French in the 1880s. It likely entered English with the current meaning around 1895 OED. It became popular in the USA about 1908. There is much more that can be discovered. Ultimately what should be done is to follow the money.

As far as I'm aware the origins of feminism can be traced back to the 1500's where an occult "gathering" of unhappy married upper-class women came together and formed the ideology with the goal to end religion and in the process end what we now call the nuclear family in order to punish men and to put women on top by any means necessary, including violence. I can't remember the details or who did the research anymore unfortunately, it's been a while since I read about it.

It is all by design. In the early nineties i had many a conversation with a feminists at university, and their research was endeavouring to disengage young woman from their biological imperatives and separate them from men and replace it with the male drive for success. And the reasoning was to prevent woman from turning away from feminist ideological doctrinal movement and felt this was the only way to do it. I thought they were insane, but here we are, they have succeeded.

I find it tragicomic, how people use the word independent to mean self-sufficient, assuming it means something positive. Have you thought about what it would really mean? Not national independence, personal independence.
The guy who lives in the woods alone. He is independent. And If he gets sick, he dies. It means fragile, alone, easy prey.

Yeah. But too much of that idea brings Communism and Egalitarianism and the subsuming of the exceptional to the graduated elect. My understanding of feminism is that it was a tool to lower the cost of labor, to destroy family structure and local community bonds. As well as to “take the burden of child rearing off the hands of women” by implementing the attendance of newly created federal schools, to be trained as future wage slaves.

Thats a biased take. Say the whole story. Feminism wouldn't have been needed if greed, business rights and men going to war didn't happen. Of course the business man would use women to lower the pay of the worker, if it wasn't women it would be immigrants and we see that now. There's always gonna be a loophole these businesses are gonna use to cut costs. Blaming feminism is like blaming a child for wanting survival in a situation they had no choice to be in.

@@Dr.Beetlejuice110Indeed. Feminism was merely the natural outgrowth of universal voting and the expansion of the franchise. The minute it became apparent that women could be shown as more morally competent than many of their male counterparts, it was futile to deny their right to civically engage in politics. Unless someone is a full-blown reactionary who does not believe in voting at all, there really is no logical reason why women shouldn’t vote like the men.

After some of my German “girlfriends” graduated university, I asked them what their plans were. Would actually now work in what they studied in, do xyz, because a stay at home mom, bla bla bla. Mind you, these were hippie girls, and they got mad at me for suggesting “stay at home mom”. I replied that a stay at home mom has a lot of value and it work, work that is contributing to the growth and goals of the family, not a corporation. I also questioned their negative reaction to being a mother. As if being a mother reduces your value. Sure, maybe it does to the superficial world, the cheap sex world. Feminist is garbage. It really is rotten women’s brains. I will add though, that this point, both men and women need to be active in mending their issues, as women and men, as well as together in the way we interact with each other. I am as much of a sinner in this as everyone else.

Well in the late 19th early 20th century feminism fought for women voting. In the 1970s when I was growing up feminism fought for women participating in professions, being allowed in to the best colleges, owning their own credit cards, birth control, awareness of domestic violence and rape, choice to marry or not, etc etc - basic rights. I noticed that as well. Also, most are entirely oblivious that Feminism has multiple schools of thought; it is not a monolithic movement by any means. The narrative they are assuming also, I think, gives way too much credit to a handful of academics and not to historical forces at work that are entirely outside the pale of ideology, such as economic circumstances incentivizing the entry of women into the workforce on a mass scale, the expansion of the voting franchise both in the US and Britain, etc.
That comment from _The Feminine Mystique_ about home being a “camp” of sorts for women is also not even a new sentiment. Bernard Shaw had wrote something similar in _Man and Superman_ (1903) and the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen wrote A Doll’s House(1879) which addresses this idea as well. Many male authors, come to think of it, had long argued along these lines, and it is shocking that people impute the breakdown of the family to these things. What they largely contended was that the marriage laws of their time were a sham and hindered people from having the best possible relations with those of the other sex-hence “free love”.

The key to reaching actual equality is equal rights equal to equal accountability. Thanks for doing this. This is an honest and direct and true conversation. Being strong or valued to society doesn't have to be demonstrated through employment or through academics. Being strong isn't about beating the other sex or making yours look better. It's about working together to make society at large stronger. Just as we don't need every single person to be focused exclusively on babysitting, we don't need every person to be in the work force. The ugly Feminist narrative is cancerous. My mom's work, that of raising kids, is literally a generational task that will make more difference than any job she goes to where she gets a paycheck.

I fully agree, I hate when, in an effort to counter the argument that a woman needs to be like a man to have a meaningful life, or any other variation of the idea, the argument tends to swing to stuff like, "Women are actually MORE special than men because they create life. Men can't do that. If men had to get pregnant and give birth the human race would be extinct, etc..." This is also very denigrating and completely ignores the unification aspect of having children (two shall become one) and insults the duties and responsibilities of fatherhood.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with "free love" and Marxism. It gets dumber from there. Women working is a communist idea? Capitalists don't want women to work?

I wholly agree with all that you and Carrie have said. I love the revaluation of motherhood, but my one fear here is that this could be a pendulum swing back that will limit women. I agree that we need to honor the role of the mother and homemaker, but in doing so will we then denounce women who don’t choose that. Pre-feminism, women did not have choices. We could not own property. We had little choices in an abusive marriage. We couldn’t vote. We couldn’t go to university to pursue an interest. We had few choices in our capacity to earn money if the man that we were with could not, or would not. We were at the mercy of men (however wonderful he may be). We were severely restricted. Can we also honor that a woman has choices and opportunities that she had not prior to feminism. I don’t think that we can but that genie back in the bottle.

    • @gonnacry4513

Pre feminism, it is untrue that women cannot own property. And it was not only women who were in abusive marriages it was men too, but men learnt to take it to the grace and not trauma dump on the younger generation of men.
Women faced problems, yes, they did. Should they have been resolved, yes absolutely. But saying that only women faced issues and men were all having a great time just shows what so many women do, they just see the benefits of being a man, by looking at not an average man but a high class man.
You wanna know how feminism could actually have been a movement which would have survived for a long long time? It would have happened if it would have paid equal concern on the men's issues as well as the women's. But we all know what route it took.
Women said they didn't want to be bound be gender roles. Alright accepted. But then why continue to bind the men to that? I have not seen many self proclaimed feminists arguing that men too should be relieved of their gender roles of protecting the women. And I can go on and on...
