I was able to go to a Legion Moto weekend at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS and had a tremendous time. I shaved several seconds off of my best lap times and their instructors were very involved in helping you improve throughout the entire weekend.

Nice riding. Great to see the 390 doing so well holding its own in the twisties. I've been looking hard at the RC but I see so many posts about quality issues. I have done a butt load of searches but can't find if the issues have been corrected in the newer models. I am looking for a bike to track only and I really like this KTM. What do you know about the reliability of the newer bikes? Have they fixed the issues? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like they still have cooling issues. Mine overheated bad the first day I tracked it. Swapped out the stock fan for the SPAL fan, along with different radiator cap. I go back and forth between Engine Ice and water with wetter depending on where I'm riding. A lot of guys seem to be sticking 2 fans in instead of one. So far so good after a year of track riding on my 390. I keep watching that head gasket like a hawk though.

Trackday I went to last year had a guy on one of these that was absolutely flying. Guy on a big GSX got a bit pissed that he got overtaken and ended up going over the bars trying to keep up with him! So 100% in the right pair of hands these things are a weapon around a track.

the answer is YES. great bike to advance your skills, learn how to corner fast etc. I loved passing bigger bikes on the outside of corners on my old rc390.

Sweet! Always lots to learn at the track. I thought I wouldn't enjoy track riding, my buddy dragged me there against my will a while back and now I'm HOOKED!

@@AlexLightmane4i Nice. I was curious about it some years ago when I bought a 600cc and wanted learn how to ride it better but never deeply looked into the process to get on the track from leathers to track prep, etc. Now that I'm a little older and have a better understanding of things, I can carry out that process better to get there. Again, thanks for the content on your day off

You don't have to wire the oil plugs?
Some auto races require a battery disconnect button easily accessible from the exterior.
