The economics on this bike are terrific. The motor feels a little weak in the composed chassis. I am hoping they at least put the new '24 Duke engine in for '25.
It's great a bike the older rc 390 wasn't as comfortable and better quality as this new one. Surprisingly it's good for daily commute. I hope it comes with the new 398 cc engine and tech from the new 390 duke this year
Yeah the pics of rc390 test mule has been surfacing. Can't say anything now but let's hope they make the design as appealing as the one shown in the video
I think you should have mentioned that this bike is essentially a 390 Duke with posture and aero tweaks and how the 2025 version will be changed significantly, as it will get all the '24 Duke changes. All these European A2 compliant bikes have performance/weight limits set, so in essence, this bike is pushing that very envelope hard. Small weight reduction tweaks is where you'll get additional performance, like lighter battery and a 415 chain/sprocket conversion, perhaps an obvious option if you wish to track it. I like this generation as there is a massive amount of after-market options, but it sounds like the newer series benefits from chassis improvements. If you want that more, the '25 model for both the RC and the Adventure.
I think people understand that it shares an engine with a 390 Duke. I do think they're quite different bikes though, so when you say posture and aero tweaks, I say those are pieces that affect the character of the bike. Also where I film, in Canada, we don't have A2 license restrictions, so things are different here. But I hear what you're saying. I'm looking forward to seeing the next generation when it arrives as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@PeterLoweOnethe 24 Duke has a 398.6cc engine and this RC has the old gen Duke engine which is a 373cc. It makes the difference in the top end performance at speeds above 160kmph
Cool KTM RC390 design here and the best I've seen of the bike so far IMO. Thanks for the review. I like the orange/black and the orange rims too. The headlight reminds me of the new Suzuki and Yamaha single center headlights of the 1980s sportbikes.
Hi Guys, I live in Wales [UK] Ex Mobile Crane Operator now 52 And Had to Retire to to Health. I have done all the 600/1000 S-Sports but NEED something Small/Light BUT Nice/Quick and Reliable to Ride. Does ANYONE KNOW how Reliable [IF NOT] Or ARE these Bikes are. Cheers Lee.
Dont mean to insult you but at your age and the early retirement you mentioned , i think this wouldnt be too comfortable for you mate , i suggest looking at the 990 duke instead
Nah, KTM originally designs the engine which Bajaj manufactures and shares it with its bikes. It shares this same engine with Bajaj under cross Badging
I loved the design of the 1st gen RC 200. I had it for 8 years and wanted to buy the next gen RC 390. However, they released this ugly front design, so I went for a Suzuki instead...
I got the 2023 model last year . My first bike in 20yrs absolutely love it .
Same for me albeit a 2022 model. Great little bike for twisty New Zealand roads !!
About to buy a 2023 brand new .

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the evolution of this bike too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I hope so too. I've been holding out on buying one hoping they would bump up the displacement.

Thanks for the video man!
I have been riding Harley’s for 15yrs and looking to add a sport bike but not break the bank, would this be a good intro bike ?
yeah, get some good gear if you don't have it already, and just note that it's super light compared to a big Harley
My 👍 as well as comment are well deserved for your top notch quality work, Peter 🤝
Thanks so much for your support!
@@PeterLoweOne Pleasure is totally on my side, Peter 🤝
could this bike be a a good option for my first bike ever?
@@valenpkb79 as an Austrian, I'm suggesting to buy a Japanese bike, mate.
fantastic review, thank you
I bought a new old stock 2023 yesterday, it comes with Continentals instead of those Michelins (not sure what kind)
They'll be Continental Conti Road's which I have on my 2022.
Hi Peter
How tall are you in cm?
The quickshifter doesnt come stock? how much is that addon when you buy the bike?
I heard it's only 250$
I paid $890 U.S. dollars to unlock the "track pack" on my 790 Duke.

I heard they are like a roulette especially the older models but I heard many issues have been fixed in the later 390s

Hi Peter, is it true that this bike shares the same engine as the Bajaj 400?
Maybe? I'm not familiar with that bike as they don't sell them here in Canada.
