Quality of life suggestion. Add an optional way to help with the bone finding for those of us that us different terminology. For example once you get the hand bone see if the children have the fingers names and if so add them automatically. On a related note there are use cases where we'd want to animate the toes as well.
I had a standard Mixamo model (Y dummy), I decided to try this plugin, but the unreal crashes 2 times in a row. The plugin built a rig, but I haven’t been able to use it yet. Anyway, thanks for the free plugin!

First, thank you for releasing this! I tried this with both UE4 Mannequin and "Stylized Character Kit: Casual 01" (free epic content from the ue marketplace) and none of the controls hooked up to the new mesh (they were all bundled at the root position and none of the controls worked): any ideas how to fix?
When I put my skeletal mesh into the one click rig plugin and save it it then gets a compiling error every time which then destroys the control rig so I can't move any part of the skeletal mesh at all. Is there a way to fix this? Before I save the ctrl rig it works perfect but once I save it something else happens that ruins it.

Seems that the Hand IK is not working as intended, it doesn't "stick in place" when you move any control other than the shoulder to which it is connected
Thr thing is, my master cheif model does not work well in mixamo, the helemet and the visor come appart and the armor parts fly around with animations HELP ME PLEASEEEEE
if im not wrong, you have to animate your chief and then atach the other `actors` to your masterchief at the BP_thierpersoncharacter as child blueprints. If you dont wanna do that you will have to atach those `separte parts` in your 3d model software cause from what i understand you have `a lot of actors`.
@razorbl21 I have no clue what you said, kinda proves my level of experience in this field. But I got a unreal engine rigger addon for blender, got my cheif and rigged him and it connected with the animations of the mannequin model animations
Cool! Does this work for other rigs though, or only mixamo? I use ARP to rig most of my characters in blender, then export them… I think it has a preset for mixamo, so it might work out of the box, but just wondering how flexible this actually is. Thanks!

Curious about this as well, from the video, looks like you need Mixamo to build the original rig and then the plugin builds on top of that? Would like to know if it works with other rigging systems. EDIT: per other comments here, Josh confirmed it only works with Mixamo rigs or rigs that have the same naming structure as Mixamo rigs.
Thank you so much for your videos and your content! You bless all of the filmmakers here. So there is a character I made that I am trying to use the rig on but for some reason it either doesn't apply or applies stretching out the arms and legs weirdly. do you have any solution to that?
does this work with already rigged characters? For example I have a rigged character from blender in unreal. It is rigged via blender's addons such as rigify and autorig pro. Although autorig pro's rig does match with unreal's skeleton, it should work probably.
(FIXED)It breaks the moment I hit refresh. Made a mixamo rig just to check (Edit) if you put a rigged model into mixamo it will not give you the mixamo naming conventions and break the rig
Unfortunately no, this is for Mixamo rigs only (the naming of the bones is what makes or breaks the rig) - but I believe they're building their own Control Rig compatible system too!
@@JoshToonen setting this up for mixamo is a deal breaker. Accurig is a better rigger and actually makes the unreal skeleton, including bone rolls and the root bone
@@JoshToonen that’s fantastic!! Anywhere where I can keep an eye out for that system being compatible with actorcore cause every time I try and put rigs through mixamo it fails or weight paints things weirdly
I will say this. Mixamo is great for a wip/mockup but it is lightyears away from having pro quality skin/weight. It's all mushy and lack definition which a proper rigging pipeline will give.

Hey! Yup, you need to have the exact same naming structure as Mixamo, as long as the bones are named the same, it should work no problem!

If you don't enable it in the edit plugins settings it won't show up for those with default settings.

Not sure if it's just me, but the directions to import the plug in are fast and extremely confusing.

Control Rig has had some semi-significant updates between each version, but I haven't tested it on 5.1. Let me know if you have success with it!

In the sequencer, once I load an animation- the control rig elbow and knee controllers disappear? does anyone know how to turn it back on?
Toggle the IkFk switch at the very bottom of the control rig, that's how you can switch between the two animation modes!

I have a few characters that I tried putting in Mixamo and it wouldnt rig them. Do you have to have it in Mixamo first to use this?
