Those breezeway two doors are rare as hens teeth.
Growing up, a neighbor across the street had a four door breezeway sedan. Always thought it was the coolest car.

Thanks for the video. Brings back some great memories. I was fortunate to own a '64 Mercury Park Lane Marauder Convertible. White over white, blue interior..Bought it '69 sold it in '95. Restored 80-81. That was one classy cruiser with well bred manners 'til you stepped on it, then the 390-4V (Holley dual feed carb up grade) showed it's muscle much to other motorist's surprise. Sold it to a gent, learned it's still in his family. Great Car.

    You omitted the wagons!
Neighbors bought an odd, new 64 Mercury. It was a black Monterey two door breezeway sedan with minimal equipment, radio, heater, whitewalls and automatic. It even had dog dish hubcaps!

I'm hoping to build a model kit of a 64 Marauder someday and I've actually seen one.. I've done a small handful of Merc kits( 49 Merc police Squad Car,65 Comet Cyclone,69 Cougar Eliminator,69 Cougar XR7 and 92 Cougar XR7)....

I had a friend with a '64 Marauder coupe, fire engine red with a white interior. Absolutely gorgeous and very fast. He hated it and traded it for a '66 Impala coupe. I thought he was an idiot.

Both very nice cars, I'd kept the Mercury myself. Thanks for the comment.👍

Hi Char, nice video! Nice car! Take a close look at the bucket seats on the Marauder, they where derived from the Ford Thunderbird, as was the Ford Galaxie 500 XL. 427 Mercury Marauder "full-size muscle" They don't make'em like that anymore. Please reply. Dave...

Thanks for the comment Dave. I have many memories of these, and other mid 60's full size Fords and Mercs. Some of my favs.

My dad had a 64 Meteor 4 door breezway which was a trim level below the Monterey with no lower side mouldings and had a Ford Custom interior and dash and rubber floor mats instead of carpet.

What you are referring to is not a trim level below the Monterey. The Meteor was a car specifically built for the Canadian market. It was actually a hybrid car of Ford and Mercury parts. Yes, it lacked the trim and had a sparse interior, but it also had a Galaxie dash layout and minimal engine offerings compared to the US built Mercurys. There may have been higher trim levels of the Meteor, but I can't say for sure. Its kinda like the Frontenac that was built for Canada only which was a cousin of the Falcon. Cool car for sure, but in all honesty, it had nothing to do with the Monterey, Montclair, Park Lane line up. it's not even technically a Mercury. I bet you can't find a Mercury badge anywhere on a Meteor.

Man I remember those days when we didn't have all the environmental psychos you could order gas guzzling monster V8s. Love the 427 2x4 425 hp V8. My folks bought a brand new Colony Park Wagon with a 390 Special 2V carb that used premium fuel. Made 2 trips back and forth to CA. from NY. Miss those days.
