- As the summer approaches, everyone is gearing up for the summer get togethers and events that allow us to show off our awesome systems. Battery life is a key essential to any good performing vehicle, and batteries can drain quickly in the summer. We felt it was appropriate to over some key, commonly used terms regarding batteries, so that everyone can have a basic knowledge regarding how batteries work and how much power they can produce.
In this video, JP gives us 6, commonly used battery terms every basshead should know. If you have any questions regarding batteries, battery life, or car audio in general, be sure to leave your questions in the comments. Who knows, Jp may answer the question in a D4S Rapid Fire Segment, or even make a video out of the question.
Be sure to check out the featured products in the video at down4soundshop.com in the links below.

Should give examples of what AGM , LEAD and LITHIUM batteries can do. Show size, cost, and output comparisons. That would be a nice Video for people to consider when buying.
you also need a pros and cons of each type
Thanks for the info 👍🏼
My JP23 and JP234 are ready for the JP40 hookup.
Thank you for sharing this information.Maryland ❤
Appreciate it JP for differentiating each example thank you as always!!!bass up
Thanks JP. Nice to know this kind of info
Excellent! Thnk u very much! 🙏🏾💯
Thanks good ole Jonny boi
Good info
Spitting bars on em
Thats a cool looking battery
Hey you should defiantly make a video on the Jp 40. I’m super confused on the pricing for it vs the lto 6.0. One seems way better but pricing is only 50 bucks more.
@JP any news on the new JP amps you said were coming in March?
I always wondered if I build a wall for a single 15" subwoofer vehind backseat can the trunk space be used as the box? I'll make sure is dynamat and soundproof.
What we need is the C rating of the LTO 6.0, 80Ah of AGM compared to 80 Ah of LTO is vastly different in terms of what it can power
I have the same set up … what’s the best way to start wiring batteries… to amplifier?
Not gon lie the ah part I never really understood this did clear it up 💪
You should do a video on how to properly charge the lithium 6.0
I have a wolfram 9k and a jp23/4 and I have 4 d4s LTO 6.o batteries . I have a singer 300 amp alt and a oddessy agm up front. Do you think 4 of those LTO'S is enough to run the system
What is AJP40 used for
NO NO NO JP WE DEMAND HOOD DEMOS
Yo JP , I have a 370 amp alt and a smart 5k taramp , how many lto do you think I need ? I was thinking one but maybe two?
What could cause mechman 240 alt to stop charging running full throttle agm up front 2 banks caps and xs super bank sb series? No fuses blown
Brushes worn out? I have a singer alt and they’re easy to replace….not sure about mechman.
Should give info on the kind of applications these batters are used for
Any up date on tahoe yet?
Check our last video post from yesterday.
@@THELIFEOFPRICE ok
What battery shud I go wit then?? Lto or xs power?? Gonna run a 3500 but eventually get a salt 4 or 6k
I have a salt 6k and run an XS power Titan 8 s5 3400 (lto) under hood and a Titan 8 rsv-s5 (lto) in the trunk. Very happy! Singer 270a alternator as well.
@@TheDoozie43 ok then..I already have the sub..imma only run one.i have a NS v5 15
You should go with LiFePo4 battery. More cost efficient and just as efficient as LTO. You can get a chins 20ah for 80.00 with BMS.
LiFePo
That new D4S battery is a beast. Can't wait until I can get my hands on one. I have 200 ah of lfp lithium already but more battery is always better. Lol
If you have 200AH of LiFePo4 that’s all you need lol unless you got like a 25k watt system.
@MrILLryder clamping about 12k but still dropping to low 13 volts with 200 ah, ioxus supercaps, and 2- 250 amp mechman alts. I'm about to get 36 more headway cells tho and that should keep my voltage from dropping so much.
@@hopskustomaudio wow! That’s crazy you’re still getting voltage drop with that amount of LiFePo4. Which brand did you go with? Not all of them put out what they advertised. Usually by rule LiFePo4 puts out double the power of Agm/lead so 200Ah LFp4 would be like 400AH Agm/lead with 90% density rate discharge.
@MrILLryder I started with 120ah prismatic cells and then added 72ah of headway cells. Headway C rating is way better than the prismatic, so im going to add another 72ah of headway or possibly more. Giving the prismatic to my son. I don't think I'll have as much voltage drop after that. I've also never tested the prismatic cells to be sure they are 120ah. Got them on Ali Express but other ppl had tested them to be good.
@@hopskustomaudio ah ok that could have been the due then using the prismatic cells. The headways are definitely some of the best cells to use in audio.
I remember when people just wanted a capacitor or two, now they can power a small city
Then why are you advertising the D4S batteries as being able to take up to 14.8? Anything over 13.5 is overcharging those cells
I run em at 14.8 all the time. Especially when i want really want my amp to get some juice. I had 2 for a bass 8k, now i'm using the 2 with a smart 5k
To bad none of these batts will not survive a EMP ATTACK damn :/
500 subs 3k views, likes are slackin…… Analytics are hurtful. Come on guys. BMPardone
I dont think he actually understands what he just read off the internet.
