In this gripping episode, Emma Kenny takes you inside the chilling Sharpe family murders that shook Australia to its core. We dissect the events that led to the tragic end of a seemingly ordinary family, the harrowing investigation that followed, and the confession that exposed a web of deceit. This case study serves as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers that can lurk behind closed doors. We honor the victims' memories and discuss the societal reactions and legal outcomes that emerged from this heartbreaking story.

Becoming? It’s always been violent. We just didn’t always have the internet to funnel the stories to us 24/7. If anything, it’s better than it used to be. We used to be a LOT worse. I’d rather be living today than in the Middle Ages.

Does it ever affect you ... irrationally? Sometimes I feel so damn sad because of things that have happened - days ago, decades ago ... - and I know I can't change it. I honestly feel like I can't move forward because of it sometimes. I feel like I'm not explaining myself very well so I hope this is coherent.

Ditto. This case also reminds me of the case of Neil Entwhistle, who essentially did the same thing (though diff C.O.D.) to his wife and baby daughter. Afterwards he fled back to his home in the UK, completely denying he knew anything about why no one could get ahold of/locate his family. I am flabbergasted that anyone could do such a thing, much less to people theyre supposed to love, AND their own flesh and blood.

in the 80s I had a chance to ask a woman out and didnt but if I had would she be alive today!! as i was told that night she went to a bar, now every time a woman walks into a bar alone she's auto on the radar of every predator in there, that night she got drunk a man hit on her and she went all out karen on him, after she left the man said something like people like that need to be taught a lesson, there was a predator listening and went after her, he caught her dragged her into a corn chip processing plant where he raped and killed her and in spite of security cams he walked free, because of a judge, i figure was about to be fired he let that predator walk free, and to this day he never answered for his crime, i never got her name, but i figure that murder is a grandpa to someone who doesn't know he's a vicious rapist and murder!

This means when the arrow is deployed and hits it's target the barb's open and are almost impossible to remove. It's bad enough for the fish let alone a human being.

I think the biggest reason he killed them instead of abandoning them is because he's a coward.
He knows he's a worthless, selfish, twisted creature but he didn't want anyone else including his family finding that out.
He couldn't take the thought of being seen for who he truly is.
You can see it even in his interviews, this desire to be seen as a victim of circumstance and not as the monster he truly was.

Anyway just hearing you talk about parenting and motherhood is one of the joys I get from this channel. I'm always nodding along, mostly laughing, sometimes you make me tear up a bit while just pondering the amazing privilege of being a mother and how there's nothing like it on earth and on and on. Emma, I am so glad that I am not the only one who can envision a more hands on form of justice, even though I would never do it. I also was intrigued with indigenous practices while in Australia. It seems like all indigenous peoples that I have studied have a great reverence for nature, balance, and communal justice. I wish our “modern” legal system was more balanced, equalizing victims and perpetrators, as well as the wealthy and poor.

Hi Emma, love watching your videos I've literally watched them all and have one of your hoodies! Can you please cover the murder of faye caliman? I know you've done some TV work on this story but I'd really love you to tell it in the deep dive way that you do. I know one of her best friends and she's still heartbroken to this day 💔

Hey Emma! Have you heard about the case or Alex Radita? He sadly passed away at the age of 15 when he weighed in only at 37 lbs after his religious nutjob parents refused to treat his type 1 diabetes.
I would love to see your deepdive on this case. ❤

Heart breaking how he could do that but what makes it even worse is knowing the pain and horror this child experienced in her last minutes. Most parents would want to comfort their child when they're in pain but this evil thing is the one to cause it, leave her then come back to go and do it again 2 times over...

My ex partner was devastated when he found out we were having a girl when I was pregnant with our second daughter. He cried from devastation during the ultrasound. It was so heartbreaking for me and really uncomfortable for the lady doing our ultrasound. 😢
Upon separation he has not been interested in being involved with their lives. I know it’s because they are girls. 😢x

I just gotta say this for all the new moms. When my first child was4 weeks olds, I called his pediatrician crying telling her I couldn’t get my son to stop crying and she admitted me and my son to the hospital for a night and the nurses refused to let me care for my son. The nurses just told me I needed to sleep. I was only 20 and I will tell you what , this helped me so much. Cause these nurses said yea he cries, but just put him in a swing and they just let him cry a little and it just taught me so much and helped me so much. My son ended up having to be switched to soy formula and was fine. But just that one night seeing how the nurses were, not being able to comfort my son, all while getting some rest in a hospital really helped me. After 6 weeks he was a PERFECT BABY. It made me see how much I don’t want strangers raising my babies

so heartbreaking, may they both R.I.P😪🙏🏾💔❤️ I cannot imagine what their close ones felt and then finding out, this sick monster did this 😐

What horrifies me the most is that when he’s fired the arrow into his daughter and she was screaming in pain he pulls the arrow out WHILE she’s alive and does it again. She felt the arrow being pulled out along with multiple arrows. Who the hell does that sort of thing? There’s no words to describe how abhorrent this is.
