I like to watch the wood cutting process. The fixed saw makes the job much easier and saves time. I can only imagine the work and effort involved in the past, when there were no cutting machines and you had to do it manually. Wood is a great material to work with. The only problem is beaches, fungi and termites, and also exposure to humidity and heat over time, causing deformations. You subject the wood to some kind of waterproofing and pest protection treatment. My mother had a very old wooden cabinet. I've lost count of the number of times I had to replace the boards that were damaged by pupins. It even looks like Odysseus' ship. 😂

Seems like this way is labor intense. Was thinking of getting a woodmizer but they wouldn't send me any information. Don't know why so I ended up getting a woodland mills. I also purchased a lapsiding attachment which tips the head. Can load log, cant it, then cut lapsiding without unloading and reloading cant. Plus centrifugal clutch engages blade and turns water on. You seem happy with what you have though so more power to you and your sister. As long as you're happy with what you're doing then that's what matters. I love seeing young people with excellent work ethic since most nowadays wanna play games and expect everything given to them.
