The Tissot Gentleman is a great watch. I've had it for almost a year and absolutely no issues with this watch. It's the perfect stepping stone into higher swiss luxury watches
This watch is an astonishing bargain - looks like a Rolex at a fraction of the price.
It's a cool watch!! Honestly, I see more Omega Aqua Terra vibes than the Rolex Datejust
I have owned this watch for three months and love it. The blue dial is absolutely hard to look away from. The indices are applied, and their thickness adds contrast between them and the dial. The only area lacking in this watch is the lume. The lume plots and hands don't exactly light up easily. Say what you will about Seiko, but all one has to do is walk past a window in which their hands and indices glow like the sun. Not so much with the Tissot Gentlemen. Last, but not least - it keeps excellent time over the course of days. For the price, this watch is a 9 out of 10.
One watch collection. Tissot are possibly the best in terms of value when it comes to affordable luxury watches.
I have the green dial version and love it.
I have had the blue dial tissot gentleman powermatic for about 6 months, its a fantastic watch keeps perfect time, looks great on the wrist. I have a few watches that cost more in my collection but I am drawn to it every time, the only issue is the lack of adjustment on the bracelet.
Just boight mine today. All they had was the blue dial. Wanted the black but bought the blue one anyway. The blue dial is stunning.
Just recently purchased a blue faced Gentleman, and I love it. (I went with the version on a leather strap, just as a personal preference).
But there is a variation on the dial that I'm not sure is "new", or just an alternate look. SOME of them have crosshair markings from the 12 to the 6, and the 3 to the 9. That seemingly minor addition really makes the watch look better, in my humble opinion. Worth looking around to see which one speaks to you....
Cannot believe TISSOT is not making a 38mm version.
Me my brother and some of my friends tried this watch. We all love it but none of us bought it because is too big.
Yes, it’s a shame. Yet they’ll release a 35mm PRX later this year 🤷♂️
Agreed. My wrist is bigger than Chris's at 7.75" to 8" and I certainly wouldn't want it any larger. I haven't had it on wrist but I think I'd like it more if it was 39mm. Gotta admit, I like male end-links because they wear well on my meaty paw but 53mm effective lug to lug? That's a big wingspan for even for those with the average 6.75" to 7.25" wrist size.
@@the_9ent
Exactly. That's a sweet spot for a watch like the PRX. It'll work well for guys with smaller to average wrists as well as attracting some female buyers. The same could be true with a smaller Gentleman, even a 36mm-37mm variant would work imho.
@@anthonysmith2982 The Gentleman would be great at 38mm. It would make it appealing to so many wrist sizes except maybe the very large.
Hi Chris, I received mine as a Christmas present from my wife and daughter, with black dial and black leather strap and its great, looks very very nice, I´ve been wearing it a lot, and for the price it delivers quality, brand, history, and a movement you can trust. I don´t see the reason to pay for a datejust, I mean if your not obssesed with the crown.
I see more Aquaterra than Datejust , either way tremendous offering from Tissot.
Just bought this watch several days ago and am loving it. It fits and looks great. It will be a long honeymoon.👍🏻🎯
Nice and elegant watch.
I'm looking for a Tissot and this one's a very interesting choice as my first.
Everyday type of watch is exactly what is needed during a Pandemic era.
Thanks for sharing!
By the way, that Zenith looks fantastic! 😍
Sono molto soddisfatto del mio Gentleman quadrante verde! perfetta alternativa al mio Milgauss! 😁 Bel lavoro, grazie.
It’s an elegant watch with a very good movement at a very attractive price! An everyday watch very good for everyone! Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
This watch on the brown strap is a good looking piece.
Hi Chris.
I think this watch is hard to ignore. TBH it's a little 'white bread' for my taste but I could def see myself buying this as a gift for someone, particularly for someone younger. A graduation, an 18th or 21st B'day, even an engagement gift. For someone who's not necessarily in the hobby it's a great first or 'real' watch from a storied Swiss brand. It looks like quality and has the specs to be a one and done piece. I'm a bit of a Tissot fan, especially their heritage releases.
It’s a amazing watch. I’ve had mine for over 1 years and I love it.
Very good looking watch.
I have this exact watch love it! Wish I could find a a nice jubilee bracelet for it to make it look even more Rolex 😂
Do you think this watch is too small for an 8" wrist? What do you think of the Tissot gent XL classic (42mm) and swissmatic (43mm)? I like the dial finish much more on this powermatic, but id love any recommendations on similar watches in bigger dial sizes.
I don't have a dress or diver style watch in my collection. I like the Tissot lineup and plan on purchasing the Gentleman Powermatic in black dial with a bracelet. I believe it is the best value for the money out there, and a tasteful design. As far as divers go, I am looking at the Tissot SeaStar 1000 black dial, Powermatic 80.
Tissot DOES! Not Tissot do. Why do you use plural? Tissot is singular.
Great looking watch. Might be a good Gada watch.
- 11.7mm is pretty thin for an automatic movement with a display back case. Nice watch. I can pull off a 400mm but like dress watches a bit smaller myself. Still considering it.
will tissot make a gentleman in 36mm? what do you reckon? because for my extremely small wrist 40mm on this model is too big
I swapped out the bracelet for a leather strap and it is almost perfection.
Bracelet is too chunky for somebody with a slimmer wrist given the male end links.
Nice
Good video
Nicest contemporary Tissot I’ve seen so far 👍
👍👍👍 Nice Watch 👍👍👍
Very cool Zenith! Not even an alternative. It stands on its own.
Nicely specced watch. A bit pricey for what you get, but there's Swiss watches for you.
Great watch but another watch that needs female end links so it will work better on a 6.5" wrist.
I love mine but the AR coating is bad.
Just a heads up your website is not hotlinked in the details below.(I'm on Ytube app android)
obviously i can google or type it in but people are lazy and im sure it would increase traffic.
You may already know but just wanted to help if you didn't.
Super watch... and super bargain! However, there's a problem when everyone expects their new watch to be blown out at 30% off. A problem for the manufacturer - and ultimately for the customer and the industry. It's OK if the watch is an older model, out of fashion or dead inventory. That is not the case with this watch - it's fairly new and has received glowing reviews. Other UA-camrs and gurus have pointed out the downside of gray market heaven. If no one can make any real profit on the product - ultimately there may be no product. This applies to all businesses, in all product categories and all capitalist societies (which is what we live in).
To your point, I visited the Tissot boutique and asked to see the Gentleman. The representative stated so many people come to see this watch but never buy. She asked where people are making these purchases because it’s definitely not from the boutique.
I think your core assumption that Tissot (or any other brand) makes no money from the gray market is flawed. They do, or they wouldn’t sell through that channel. They’re not a charity after all.
I think you also forget that no one but Tissot controls the distribution to said gray market. If they thought it was a real problem, they could switch off supply and sell only through their channels at the full margin.
But until they do that, there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with buying gray.
The customer assumes the risk / cost of any possible warranty issues for a significant upfront discount.
Some people like that bargain. For everyone else, they can buy at the boutique and get the peace of mind that comes with a full 5 year warranty
It's nice but all that high polished steel is tought to keep scratch free
I bought gold one look nice 2100$
How's the quartz version? Thinking about getting PRX and Gentlemen Quartz
Solid pieces at affordable luxury, the quartz PRX doesn’t have the waffle dial but I like the rubberized bracelet better
Sursprisely i liked it, Tissot design language doesn't work for me, also i don't like dress watches, but this watch has something catchy & i can't understand what...Also i dont't think it is kinda datejust, reminds me aqua terra maybe.
Thanks for review Chris.
Why they add loom on a dress watch? Dress watch under a cuff looks unappropriate. Especially when you choose the one with a strap.
I've had my eye on the gentleman for a while now and I think it's a great entry-level dress watch and I don't mind the powermatic 80 in this particular watch. However, I want to see Swatch or Tissot offer a watch with a better movement that's under $1000, because I'm really don't like how they stuck the powermatic 80 into everything that's entry-level. They have the higher-end movements, which I'd like to see some of that technology filter down to sub $1000 ranges.
I’ve heard powermatic 80 movements are hard or almost impossible to regulate. I’d like Swatch group to make available a high grade 2892 movement for their entry level watches even if it’s slightly more expensive.
The watch is harder to regulate if you plan to do it yourself. However, any watchmaker with any ETA certification can easily regulate the Powermatic 80. My watchmaker regulated my Tissot with a Powermatic with no issue. It’s a good, serviceable movement.
If you want a significantly better movement, you have to look at Longines. The Conquest 39mm has a great movement, screw down crown and 300mt of WR for not much more money.
@@giusepperocchi2979 Most of the Longines watches with better automatic movements are over 1000-2000 including the Conquest. This is why I would rather get watches from other brands or even microbrands. Many of which have SW200 or equivalent such as Christopher Ward at the price range I was referring to.
I love this watch, but it is too big for me. Tissot please give us a version in 38 mm!
Is the case-back sapphire as well?
yes
Tissot is singular not plural, so IT should be referred to as an it not they.
I'm referring to the Tissot brand which is many people not the singular watch
@@WatchChris It's a single company, though, so Teacher Help is right. Great review, though, and a cool watch.
We need a 36mm version
No we don't.
38mm, or female links
@@tancreddehauteville764 yes we do
There is a cream to help with those nail issue
I'm working on it. Lol
That chewed thumb nail, though.
I have the black on leather strap with target lines on the dial, I think if it as a badged up Explorer 🧭 😂, bang for buck a great watch, 80hr PR is awesome
