"Those cars are just kind of for showing off to other people, where this is enough of a car to show off to yourself. This is everything you need to impress yourself" That has to be the BEST assessment of a car I've ever heard. Thank you for an enjoyable review.
@@RRr-yl8zr I’ve had my Chevy SS (Holden Commodore) since new and although I don’t turn to look at it every single time I get out I still turn to look at it a heck of a lot even now.
I couldn’t agree more about the tremendous boost in supercar credibility the switch from front to mid-engine gives the ‘Vette! The handling rating of 9.9 is a signal that this $100k Chevy is equal to $250k-$350k exotics.
"Money cannot buy happiness, but you can buy a Corvette and that's kinda like happiness." The other fella is right, I've never seen her smile so much in a vid.
The seats are finished in the shade of "I don't have pets or children". That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Even got half a mouthful of coffee over my monitor. Brilliant!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Been looking forward to this review ever since the car made a cameo appearance in another video. Much like the Acura NSX you reviewed a couple years ago, I don’t know why anyone would buy an alleged “supercar” costing 2, 3, or 4 times more if the point is performance and not status. Awesome and highly entertaining review. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
@ I personally like the overall looks of the NSX better except perhaps the taillights on the Vette. You can see more of the engine in the Acura, but of course it isn’t a convertible, so there’s that. I’m also a bit of a Corvette traditionalist so I prefer the last long hood front engine generation over the mid-engine body, but like Sarah, I’m getting used to it. Cheers!
I'm a fan of german cars (porsche, BMW), things with a manual (mercededs before 2011) but seeing Sarah and knowing her levels of competence, I think I need to start looking at a corvette for my next ride.
I own this exact same car but it’s black. I put a 150 HP nitrous shot in it and now it’s 650 HP. Very impressed with the car so far. I open road race it and it’s phenomenal. Took 2nd place this year at the Nevada silver state classic in my class.
I love my 2003 C5 Convertible Corvette. Drove it 1750 miles none stop, except for food and fuel, cause it is So Much Fun! Mine is a 5.7 litre 6 speed and gets over 30 miles to the gallon hiway.
Having the engine on to open and close the convertible top is not a design flaw. There are several motors operating the top. The motors need adequate power to operate, and you want your battery and charging system to stay functioning. Can you imagine how many people would drain their batteries if they could operate their top without the car running. Signed, Convertible Mustang owner and Chanel subscriber. Sarah...you are a Corvette girl!!! You have been for a long time!!!! I don't think the penguins have told you!!!! I've been here since the beginning and I just want to say I'm proud of you and all that you've accomplished! You worked your ass off. Much love and Happy New Year!!!!
Amazing what GM can do when they feel like it! I agree the controversy around the car is pretty much dead and now it's well loved. I really would love a base model with a manual though.
Would have been so funny if you had worn white New Balance shoes, cargo shorts, a vette emblasened polo, and sunglasses during this review. Gotta love an AGE troop doing great things!
That has got to be your longerest car review yet! But, that doesn't matter. The look on your face, the joy you had talking about it but mosy of all driving it said it all. The smile didnt leave your face!
Thanks for showing my car at the 18:17 minute mark, same except an 88' with Z06 wheels. I love that you're getting the opportunity to give the beans to an amazing American sports car. You can't beat the smile it puts on your face.😄😍😍
Sarah, how cool that you got a Corvette to review. As another commentor suggested, you've established yourself as a credible and valued reviewer. My favorite is still the bolstering test. Always hilarious. Keep up the great work.
Super great review Sarah!! I own a 2021 Stingray and absolutely love it! You hit upon all the things to love about the car after owning a C6 and a C7, this is the one! Thank you for all your videos, and I do mean ALL!!
Sarah does such great reviews, so informative, so enthusiastic, so entertaining, concise yet we know everything. And yes, so stylish, colour coordinated for the car. Hey manufacturers press teams, make sure Sarah top of your 'chosen few' for reviews 👏👏👏👍🙂
Sarah, I'm not a big GM fan. But the Corvette is great! Bang for the buck, Corvette does it again. I love how your reviews are critical as well as rewarding. Your reviews are freaking entertaining too!😅👍🏁
great video well done! the z06 isn’t for “showing off” the thing sounds and drives absolutely incredibly. i have owned a lot of foreign and domestic v8s and the z06 is from another planet, it trumps them all. I daily a c8 z06 and nothing remotely compares; the experience is second to none.
Great Review! That aggressive break test really shows how fast that thing stops! You should do a review of your top 5 or 10 favorite cars of 2024 you reviewed!
Thank you Sarah. Corvettes have always been outta my price point, but to see an American machine put Europe on notice is just awesome. Dont forget your Christmas present!!
Never seen you before, but the pacing and the technical knowledge mixed in scratches my adhd brain just right. As a 3lt z51 owner I think you did it justice.
I've been hitting all the dealerships trying to find something to transport my hundred and ten baguettes and here Sarah solved my problem! This was a great review, so much better than Car and Driver.
It wasn't the mid-engine layout that was controversial, it was the absolute hideous styling and no manual. Hopefully it gets a little more refined styling soon since this is the 5th year of production. Until that happens, I can't justify buying one. Just for reference, owned several Vettes and 2 right now. There's an argument for the styling that they're marketing it to non-traditional buyers, but the design language falls flat and short of it's European counterparts. Of course performance wise it punches far about it's price tag, but that part of Corvette history has thankfully remained intact. Amazing content as always, thx.
I’ve owned every generation of Corvette except a C1, I still own 5 including 3 Z06’s and this exact C8 only in black and I have no problem with the styling. It’s not my C2 Coup but the cars overall performance is excellent in general. So is its reliability and fuel efficiency. I think you would change your mind if you drove one.
I smiled with fond memory when you said the engine had to be running to open and close the top. Time was that the 60's and 70's Vettes and Z-28s with hidden lights needed the engine vacuum to open and close the light covers. New is old.❤ PS: I am already anticipating your 2026 Corvette Zora beans test!
I was grinning ear to ear while watching this ! I could have easily watched another hour of it 😄 If I had the budget to buy a supercar, I'd definitely buy a Corvette, amazing value !
Owned a ‘23 C8 Z51 Coupe and the sounds it made were mean. Now own a ‘24 992.1 GTS and it doesn’t make near the same kind of sounds. Magnetic Ride is awesome. You can tell I miss it, but I wanted a manual transmission and a car that didn’t depreciate so much. But I’d highly recommend the C8 with Z51.
Great job as always. I watch all your videos but love the car builds best but only by a little. You have got to be the smartest woman car builder I’ve ever seen. Thanks
The "possum holes" in the trunk are for the coupe model. If you had the targa top instead of the convertible it would allow the clips to slot into place. Also the PDR camera is the one at the top of the windshield, NOT the front parking cameras iirc.

The answer to why is quite simple. There are actually 2.
1. Presumed status
2. Personal preference
Do you think this is worth it? I mean the looks alone is nice
