I'm a mechanic at a shop that maintains Ford's media fleet. It's so cool that when you get a Ford press vehicle it is usually from our shop. If I can ever figure out if a vehicle is going to you beforehand, I will definitely hide some penguins in it somewhere. 😅
These tiny over-stressed engines still direct injection only? And does anyone really like that 4cyl fart sound? Huge, badass looking Ute making a little 4cyl fart noise is incongruous to say the least.
Sarah. I know you compared the size of this with the F150 of 15 yrs ago (sic), but I would have liked to see this parked next to your grandma's Ranger, for size comparison. Overall, brilliant review as always.
Just watched Demuro's review of the same truck. Sarah, your review is so much better! You deliver a lot more information on what enthusiasts want to know, and show the truck actually being used. You rock!
I really like just about everything with this truck, particularly how it looks beefy without actually being big. Looks like you were having a blast in the desert. I’ll bet it was hard to stop playing after you made the recordings! Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
I’ve had a Raptor for a year here in Australia, and love it, the perfect daily.. The Ranger is the number 1 selling vehicle down here, the Raptor is the best version comfortable, fast, handy for towing and putting loads in the back, fits 5 people easy as well
Its amazing that this thing is 58k optioned out and the new Taco OR 4x4 optioned out is only about 2k less at 56k and the top of the range Taco will be pushing almost 70k! If I was in the market to spend that much on a mid-sized truck this would be my choice for sure.
The Ranger Raptor is a bargain compared to others in the segment (I'm looking at you, TRD Pro and Gladiator), but I still don't do new car depreciation. And I definitely don't do dealer markups. In about 3 years I'll sell my 2010 Raptor and look for a nice used one of these at a discount.
I agree with your statement about the Ranger having some lower priced model options. After looking for a new Ranger, I ended up finding a 2011 4x4 Ranger, which I think is the perfect size for a Ranger.
Oh yes! A new and improved Rally Special Stage! ❤❤❤❤❤ I am so addicted to your off-road reviews and this was just as great as expected. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
@@YerBoyTroy I have a 2011 2.7 4cyl Tacoma and a 2013 5.7 Sequoia. Going down the freeway at 75 mph the Tacoma is ~26-2700 rpm and the Sequoia is at 16-1700. If I want to pass the Tacoma has to down shift and gets up to 3000+ rpm’s while the Sequoia may not even down shift and won’t get past 2000 rpm’s. The 4cyl has to work much hard to get a lighter truck down the road at the same speed/load. Literally the gas mileage is only 1-2 mpg different. I originally bought the 4cyl for gas mileage reasons but after 5 years realized I really didn’t gain anything over the 6cyl Tacoma. I prefer schteel over aluminum, happy to see the initial build quality on this Raptor. Now I'm trying to figure out how UA-cam has never recommended your channel to me until recently given the years of car/truck content I consume...
Fantastic review! So much knowledge and great information about the different parts. Seeing the rally section brought home how good this vehicle is. Thanks!
I feel this is the limit on how big a car should be as the larger and larger utes are coming over into Australia like the rams and silverados. I do like the ranger though.
Great Video! I've had my Ranger Raptor for just under a month now. I use it as my daily driver, and I also plan on using it for off road fun. I'm getting an average of 19.2 in the city . I use the "R" setting every time I get in the truck. The only dings I would give it are lack of BlueCruise, and I wish the Raptor came with the Orange running lights indicative of the Raptor family.
Your exhaust comment.... 3.1428 X radius squared or diameter squared X .785 One 3.5" pipe = 9.62 Two 2.5" pipes = 9.8125 So it's equivalent to one 3.5" exhaust pipe, not 5". 😊

Thank you Sarah. Only a couple weeks ago I was wondering if you might be reviewing the Ranger Raptor, and lo-and-behold you were doing it as I was starting to wonder. Your underbody truck analysis is so helpful. I love your work! You are the best UA-camr ever!

An excellent review. The combination of dedicated knowledge and the want to play provides a comprehensive and very delightful videp. Keep being a True Leader in this genre genre.
Hi, knowing how detail oriented you are, I wanted to remind you that a dual 2.5 inch exhaust doesn't come anywhere near a 5 inch. When you square the radius, it dominates the cross sectional area number. I'm sure you know this, but figured it would be like you forgetting to clean under the fender flares. 🏁🏁
I'm wondering if the engine would fit into my Euro-Fords from the 70's and 80's. They already have V6's in them, but without anything bolted to them, like turbo's etc, they are tiny. That would be a fantastic upgrade powerwise.
I believe the bucket seats bolstering should be adjustable. I'm a small framed person and the manufacturers make the seat to a universal 1 seat fits all
We also only get the crew cab in my country although it is more expensive at a conversion of 66000 USD. They manufacture the Ford Ranger here but the Raptor version gets imported from Thailand.
It certainly lives up to expectations performance wise, and the styling inside and out is pretty tasteful. Glad it it has a gasoline engine, the original one had 2 liter diesel here in SA. And they tried the wet belt system for cam drive which is not even fit for lawnmowers.
Painted with the Ole Rust Color, I see. Nah, they just need to do a better job, especially considering that this little truck is 56K and supposed to be gear towards off-roading.

Hey Sarah. What's really insane about this truck is the Canadian market up here has inflated the base price of this trim to be over $80,000 AND with dealer markups, I see price tags of $100,000+ WHICH IS INSANE FOR A MIDSIZED! Enjoy your work! Keep it up!
Here in the Philippines, we also have the Ranger Raptor, which is almost identical to the US version, save for the engine being a 2.0 liter biturbo I4 diesel. Its rivals in the Philippine market are the Toyota Hilux GR-S and the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete.

I think it’s a total win that they actually put a v6 in this instead of a maxed out 4 cylinder (Toyota?). I think this is the best Raptor too!

Exhaust sizes, areas of circles calculate a lot different, a 2.5" has an area of close to 5" X 2 it's about 9.8". A 5" pipe has an area of about 19.6.
