These tiny over-stressed engines still direct injection only? And does anyone really like that 4cyl fart sound? Huge, badass looking Ute making a little 4cyl fart noise is incongruous to say the least.
@@MrMightyZ It's not a 4 cyl though. It's actually a 3.0L V6 (6cyl) Turbo-Petrol. I think you are referring to the 2.0L Si- and Bi -Turbo diesel variants, which I agree, are over-stressed. But this is not one of those... And judging the noise over the mic of a camcorder is just as incongruous. These Ranger Raptors (lots of them driving around in South Africa by now) can be annoyingly loud if you have your window down, waiting at a red light, going green, when one of these pulls away at full tilt next to you with their exhaust ahead of your open window.
Your question of white Ford does things like not paint a driveshaft on all of their vehicles I am going to help you and you will know this is the truth when you research it 35 years ago in the early 90s Ford was trying to save money and I saw the story in the newspaper (when they had those) . That story was that for figured out how to save $90,000 by not painting the outside of the ashtrays in a Ford Explorer! They figured people could see the inside of the ashtray, but you can’t really see the outside as it’s hidden from your view underneath, so by not painting that they saved $90,000 in paint and and labor now imagine how much they’re saving by not paying your driveshaft and imagine where they’re cutting cost elsewhere! Unfortunately, the vehicles in that era would run forever, not so anymore and their cost cutting is every single item on a vehicle, which is why the recalls are endless because it’s been counters not engineers anymore If you want the driveshaft painted you’re going to do it yourself. You should offer the service and charge a reasonable fee imagine how much money you’ll make by running dozens of trucks through your shop every day painting just the driveshaft.😂😂
Just watched Demuro's review of the same truck. Sarah, your review is so much better! You deliver a lot more information on what enthusiasts want to know, and show the truck actually being used. You rock!
Sarah. I know you compared the size of this with the F150 of 15 yrs ago (sic), but I would have liked to see this parked next to your grandma's Ranger, for size comparison. Overall, brilliant review as always.
I’ve had a Raptor for a year here in Australia, and love it, the perfect daily.. The Ranger is the number 1 selling vehicle down here, the Raptor is the best version comfortable, fast, handy for towing and putting loads in the back, fits 5 people easy as well
Is that Tyre dandruff under braking? If so that's crazy. I have to admit I'm crushing on this Ranger Raptor. Ford take my money. And thx for the review Sarah. I enjoy your show. Here's to putting my money where my mouth is...Or my thumbs ....cus I'm typing not speaking.
Great review! I have had this exact model (color and all) since May 2024 and love it. You tested this truck right where it was designed to operate and covered all the bases, nicely done!
Informative and entertaining review as always. Also, someone needs to learn how to match phase and road force balance a tire, there was a lot of wheel weights behind your right ear. 🛞
I agree with your statement about the Ranger having some lower priced model options. After looking for a new Ranger, I ended up finding a 2011 4x4 Ranger, which I think is the perfect size for a Ranger.
100% agree about lower configs, a manual. I wish Ford did this with their entire lineup of trucks- offer a manual to the ecoboost as well as the V8's. Not everyone wants the computer to do the job. Great job, Sarah. Really appreciated this review. I'm still considering the Tremor, though, based on your previous review. That, and I love a naturally-aspirated engine.
Great Video! I've had my Ranger Raptor for just under a month now. I use it as my daily driver, and I also plan on using it for off road fun. I'm getting an average of 19.2 in the city . I use the "R" setting every time I get in the truck. The only dings I would give it are lack of BlueCruise, and I wish the Raptor came with the Orange running lights indicative of the Raptor family.
Ford Motor Company is an American multinational headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. The Raptor is manufactured at their Wayne, Michigan plant. An Australia Ford team helped develop it.
Its amazing that this thing is 58k optioned out and the new Taco OR 4x4 optioned out is only about 2k less at 56k and the top of the range Taco will be pushing almost 70k! If I was in the market to spend that much on a mid-sized truck this would be my choice for sure.
Oh yes! A new and improved Rally Special Stage! ❤❤❤❤❤ I am so addicted to your off-road reviews and this was just as great as expected. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!

I have 30k miles on my 21 Ford Ranger, 4x4, FX4, Super Cab, 2.3 Ecoboost, 10 speed auto. It's been a great little truck. I replaced it with my 2016 F-150, 5.0, 4x4, reg cab short bed which was a great truck as well, but more truck than I needed. The new Ranger Raptor has about the same power as my 2011 Mustang GT, Cal Special, Convertible.

I had a 1993 4x2 Ford Ranger XLT... It was a step above base I believe with a 6 cylinder engine and fancy looking, smallish wheels. After having a fun, 2-seat, sports car piece of crap, I went completely in the other direction and go the pickup for reliability and functionality. I NEVER thought what a HOOT it was to drive! It was sporty to drive. I could whip it around corners. Comfortable. It was nice. And super-reliable. I had 100k miles on it before I sold it. Not a problem ever. And I was rough on it. Today's model is certainly bigger than the 1993 version and you're right, they should have more trims available. I think it's a bit pricey. Salaries have not kept up with inflation. The model I spec'd out should be between $10k - $15k less expensive.... You have such fun with this truck, I would love to buy one again. But I need an SUV for passenger comfort and keeping my gear more 'inside' than in the bed. Great review!
Shuperb Sarah! You were a total beast driving that Raptor. Please, again consider fixing the Focus and go racing someday. We know you're crazy enough. I would come from the PNW to cheer you on.
Thank you Sarah. Only a couple weeks ago I was wondering if you might be reviewing the Ranger Raptor, and lo-and-behold you were doing it as I was starting to wonder. Your underbody truck analysis is so helpful. I love your work! You are the best UA-camr ever!

This truck is sweet, but need a single cab/small extended cab option and that coyote you mentioned!! I get you got to stuff the family in there but desert/pre runner/Baja style trucks look way nicer small cab!!
Your exhaust comment.... 3.1428 X radius squared or diameter squared X .785 One 3.5" pipe = 9.62 Two 2.5" pipes = 9.8125 So it's equivalent to one 3.5" exhaust pipe, not 5". 😊

We also only get the crew cab in my country although it is more expensive at a conversion of 66000 USD. They manufacture the Ford Ranger here but the Raptor version gets imported from Thailand.
Here in the Philippines, we also have the Ranger Raptor, which is almost identical to the US version, save for the engine being a 2.0 liter biturbo I4 diesel. Its rivals in the Philippine market are the Toyota Hilux GR-S and the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete.
@@YerBoyTroy I have a 2011 2.7 4cyl Tacoma and a 2013 5.7 Sequoia. Going down the freeway at 75 mph the Tacoma is ~26-2700 rpm and the Sequoia is at 16-1700. If I want to pass the Tacoma has to down shift and gets up to 3000+ rpm’s while the Sequoia may not even down shift and won’t get past 2000 rpm’s. The 4cyl has to work much hard to get a lighter truck down the road at the same speed/load. Literally the gas mileage is only 1-2 mpg different. I originally bought the 4cyl for gas mileage reasons but after 5 years realized I really didn’t gain anything over the 6cyl Tacoma. I really have less power and am wearing my engine quicker than if I had a larger engine. My 2013 Sequoia has 296k miles and still drives like new because the engine hasn’t had to work very hard during those miles.
Excellent review as wall ways, love the US version or the Raptor, in the UK we are not so lucky with our version of the Raptor…..The best of all test drives.

Sarah, another really great episode. I would like to suggest a small change at the end of each episode. When you are counting up points in each of several categories, I am wondering how many points are possible in each of these categories. A meat ball score of 6.5 out of 8 is quite different from 6.5 out of 10 or 20. Could you remind us what your parameters are?
This was one of the best true truck/technical reviews I have seen in a long time, great job, so much better than a lot of other tubers (including me). I prefer schteel over aluminum, happy to see the initial build quality on this Raptor. Now I'm trying to figure out how UA-cam has never recommended your channel to me until recently given the years of car/truck content I consume...
The professionalism of your reviews continues to grow in a way that becomes an inspiration for any young and aspiring content creator. More than that, it is humbling to see how far you've come based on the dedication you've put into making this channel both entertaining and informative. Very few of us put in such hard work to achieve our goals.. You should feel so proud of your efforts. Also, you seem more relaxed and happy lately. Maybe that comes with the confidence in hitting your stride. Keep up the fine work!
I believe the bucket seats bolstering should be adjustable. I'm a small framed person and the manufacturers make the seat to a universal 1 seat fits all
The best thing about this review: Sarah tested the Ranger exactly how Ford intended the vehicle should be used.
Love the content.
That rear axle construction is similar to the one on the Buick GNX

A meat ball score of 6.5 out of 8 is quite different from 6.5 out of 10 or 20. Could you remind us what your parameters are?
Such a GENIUS BEAUTY! (Truck was awesome too) “Baby trophy truck”👍🤣 such a well done smaller truck deserves its own sized Raptor bed badge…
This was one of the best true truck/technical reviews I have seen in a long time, great job, so much better than a lot of other tubers (including me). I prefer schteel over aluminum, happy to see the initial build quality on this Raptor. Now I'm trying to figure out how UA-cam has never recommended your channel to me until recently given the years of car/truck content I consume...
fruit and robot compatibility - I love it
The professionalism of your reviews continues to grow in a way that becomes an inspiration for any young and aspiring content creator.
