Dock Station that is the exact reason I enjoy fabrication more than woodworking. You cut too deep, a welder fixes that and you can’t tell with a little grinding lol.
@@reesespeanutbuttercups5548 Yep! If you dig through the comments you’ll see why I havnt been able to upload. Good news is, is that as of this week that is no longer the case, and if I remember I am actually going to try and upload part 6 tonight.
@@SNOFLOFilms damn ok sounds lit! My buddy actually is the one who bought your w.twohawks nb Miata, the blue one, it’s hella fun! I came to check in and it looked like you had up and left lol, hope to see a notification!
I cut the floor out for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I’m using the interior and electronics of the duramax so everything will continue to bolt in as it should. Keeping the floor allowed me to keep the firewall, which saved work when it comes to pedals, steering wheel, heater core lines, brake booster, etc. Another reason I cut out the old floor was because if I were to set a 5 lb weight in the old floor it probably would’ve fallen through from the amount of rust there was lol.
P M I can’t really explain how I tied it in over a comment. I’m going to try and get part 6 posted this week some time, and it’s either part 6 or part 7 that I do it in. Not quite sure honestly lol. Currently working on putting the dash in and that’ll be a true testament to what I need to do to make everything work together.
How well did the Duramax firewall line up with the square body cab? I’m currently doing this same thing to my truck, but haven’t started the firewall cutting yet.
It all depends on where you put your fenders in regard to your tires. Mine ended up with the dmax firewall being about 3-4” farther forward than the squarebody firewall. This makes for an interesting fit with the dash, but I made it work. If you’re using the newer dash, be ready to make some custom parts for the heater/ac fan box because I literally don’t have a valence anymore. It’s the biggest issue with doing a body swap this way.
It's still a ways out from being done, but it is a lot farther along than you all see on youtube, just due to editing videos and getting them posted etc. Part 6 is up btw!
Don't forget the cab corners. They usually rust on generally all of them. And as much rust you have cut out at this point it's really not a good idea to not consider the cab corners.
Working on getting the next video uploaded. It’s a lot harder to upload a longer UA-cam video than a lot of people think. Takes like 2 days on my internet just to upload it, and if the WiFi cuts out for just a second the upload fails. I’ve tried uploading it 3 times without success :/
I apologize, I want to upload more videos, and I have more to upload. Hell the truck runs now. School has just been absolutely wild for me and I don’t have the internet to even upload most of the time. I’m going to try once again to upload part 6 this weekend.
Currently living somewhere where the Internet sucks. I’ve tried posting again 3 times, each time it takes over two days to upload the video and it typically fails before it reaches the end point. I’m going to take my laptop somewhere else and do it there one of these days. I have a few videos to upload for you guys.
Can’t wait to see how this turns out man, great job so far. I want to do this as well, these videos have been great.
Man, when is part 6 coming?
just uploaded!
Nice I’ll be start. This. Too on my crew. Soon
Metal is cool because you can just cut and weld over and over again. It is a pain in the ass, but not much is lost.

Ok.
What was the reason you cut the floor out instead of moving cab mounts? Only asking cause I'm looking to do something similar. Your videos are great 👍
