I know this video is kind of lack luster, but part 7 is most of the way finished, just needs some editing tweaks and then I'll upload it. Stay patient, I haven't forgotten you guys!
Sno-Flo are you still putting videos out on the build of the duramax square body build??? I’d definitely love to see more for sure!!! Let us no please!!! The truck is definitely looking good so far!!!
@@j.j.clingman4083 yeah I plan on it. I actually tried uploading the next one this week but the upload failed. Happens quite a lot on my crappy WiFi. I have like 2-3 videos worth of content that I just need to sort through and upload. Truck itself still isn’t done, but I haven’t given up on it. Just broke from college lol.
Glad you are working on it still keep up the good work. I used to work with your dad at PNC. I’m close to you if you need help with anything hit me up.
Glad to see you posted a video and the project is coming along fine I didn't get a notification for the video so I was just looking on your channel and seen you posted a new video
Anxiously awaiting part 7, I started the exact same project as you after rolling my 2003 lb7 duramax, we had the exact same interior package. It’s funny because we both started the same way I wished I had found your videos sooner. I’m waiting till pay day to go pick up the new cab, I have my floor and firewall cut and prepped, only difference is I’m dropping a flat bed on mine. Would love to chat about the dash in the square cab if you’ve done it yet
Message me on Instagram @tanner_shany24 and I’ll try to answer yours Q’s about the dash install. I have done it, just haven’t uploaded videos. I’ve got like 3 new videos finished and just haven’t uploaded them yet 😬
You said you want to add two inches to the bed. I wish I would have added to the cab... like a mega cab. I know that is a stupid amount of work, but the knee space for back seat passengers is really small. I shortened my frame 4". I wish I would have left the frame and added to the cab... I want to kick myself.
I know I didn’t want to change the frame because in case of a wreck, I want to be able to throw a cat eye body back in the frame really easy. However, I battled with the bed vs cab idea. It basically boiled down to me being capable of doing the job, and I figured the bed would be easier lol.
@@ReshardsAutomotiveWorkshop ua-cam.com/video/PEQvhW_pRPY/v-deo.html look at this truck, that’s exactly what he did. I started my truck when this guy was like half way through his. Super cool guy.
I’m way farther along, but not finished. I’ll never quit on it, I’m just still a full time student just trying to make ends meet financially. It’s too the point now that I have to spend quite a bit to finish it and I can’t quite yet. I’m going to try and upload the rest of the videos I have for it this week if I have the time.
Coming along so good man! You've got everything to fit, the full perimeter sheetmetal looks OE. The dash is something I can't picture in my head. The 73+ have the short A pillar and no angle on the glass. I'm imagining the dash coming waaaaaaaaay inside the cab. Newer units have more than 2 feet of dash if I'm not mistaken? Your rig is going to be so much better than the OG unit. They don't have enough room for your legs. With the newer dmax floor and firewall will give way more room for the feet. Is the square body actually 6-8 inches wider at the floor than the GMT800? If so, that's wild!
I have to get out of New England. Prices on everything here simply suck. That exact bed here would go for $1500 - $2000! Absolutely everything here is way overpriced. A friggin freight shipping company quoted me $1,395 to ship a 351w already strapped to a pallet. I replied to her quote email and said I must have added something to the quote by accident. The highest shipping I've ever seen on eBay for a motor was $299 I told her. She replied, with attitude, basically saying nope that's the correct number. I politely replied, "anyone that would pay 1400 bucks to ship a motor on a 4840 pallet is insane." You won't be doing any business with price gouging like that. Anyway, yay Maine living lmao.
I actually already have the dash in the truck! It’s, well, it doesn’t fit perfect lol. I have to make entirely new routing for the defrost venting because it’s currently shoved all the way up where the valence was lol. But, the gauge cluster and dash are all sitting in the same position they would in relelvence the the dmax firewall, so it won’t be pushed into your chest. The seat should have the same exact distance from the steering wheel and dash as before the body swap. Only issue with that is the top of the dashboard is only going to be maybe 8” long, so I will have to do some custom stuff with the plastic to make it look correct. And yeah I do believe the body actually is wider. I know with this wheel setup on a car eye there would be a ton of poke with the tires but with this body they are maybe 1.5” outside the fenders. And plus I had to fill about 2.5-3” on either side of the rockers, and I cut right on the inside of the pinch weld on the dmax rockers.
@@curvs4me and trust me prices over here are no joke either. I picked that bed up before Covid taxes hit and everything skyrocketed. Even at that time this bed would go for around 1200 here. I got a steal, and it came with a minty tailgate. I called 4-5 different places that primarily part out old school Chevy stuff looking for one and they all said the day a short bed comes in it’s gone for hundreds over asking price within hours.
You are the first I've seen make the bed a little longer instead of making the frame shorter. Works for me.
